Differences in childbirth satisfaction in relation with sociodemographic and clinical variables
Dolores Marín Morales,Susana Toro Molina,Francisco Javier Carmona Monge
NURE Investigación , 2013,
Abstract: A lot research has focused on the study of women satisfaction with delivery. Different events are related to childbirth satisfaction, unplanned cesarean deliveries, instrumental vaginal deliveries, pain and lack of control during labor can generate a negative delivery experience. The aim of the present study was to assess the relationship between mode of delivery and childbirth satisfaction. The final sample was composed of 106 women in early postpartum, which voluntarily agreed to participate in the study. A total of 34,9% were instrumental deliveries, and 17% were cesarean sections. The Mackey Childbirth Satisfaction Rating Scale was used to measure women’ satisfaction. A significant difference was found in the baby scale between the groups of eutocic and non-eutocic delivery (p = ,045). A significant difference was found in the baby scale (p < ,001) and the partner scale (p = ,006) between the groups of vaginal and cesarean section delivery. Mode of delivery can be a variable that affects the childbirth experience, influencing the overall experience in a negative way, thus conditioning women’ mode of delivery in future pregnancies.
Stress indicators in the post-partum period and their relation with women’s mood in the puerperium

NURE Investigación , 2013,
Abstract: The aim of this research project is to study the relationships among physiological indicators of stress, maternal hormone levels and mood in the early postpartum, and their possible association with psychological problems during the puerperium. This observational, longitudinal and correlational study will be carried in a sample of voluntary women belonging to area 9 of health services of the Community of Madrid, the participants will be recruited during their childbirth hospitalization. To evaluate the target variables structured and validated questionnaires would be applied and analysis of biological indicators taken at two time points:-In the early postpartum: anxiety, depression and childbirth satisfaction, physiological indicators of the stress response (cortisol in saliva, plasma norepinephrine and epinephrine), and seric oxytocin and gonadotropin hormone levels. -During the puerperal period up to three months after delivery: perceived stress, anxiety and depression. Socio-demographic information as well as clinical data on the progress of labor, and status of maternal and neonatal health condition will be also obtained and included in the study.
A way of integrating technological tools into teacher training

Revista Electronica Interuniversitaria de Formación del Profesorado , 2009,
Abstract: This paper presents an experience of didactic innovation and its impact on the learning of teacher training students who took a course on School Organization. With the innovation described here we attempted to use technological tools with our students as a positive stimulus during the teaching and learning processes which would enable them to learn more effectively. Students considered this experience as positive and they got better marks than students in the previous academic year.

Rect@ , 2002,

Abstract: the wetland "ciénaga de cachimbero", located in the municipality of cimitarra, santander, has ecological and environmental importance for the region. it has been inventoried by the ministry of the environment and been catalogued as palustral. a combined modeling and experimental approach to the hydrology of the wetland was carried out aiming at establishing a temporal evaluation scheme; the principal components of the water balance were determined. a scheme of observation and analysis of the hydrological variables, allowing the modeling of the flow balance, was implemented. the main objective of this work was then to formulate a daily-scale operative model of the natural hydrology behavior of the wetland aimed at the prediction of the temporal patterns of the water level and volume variations. it was found that the hydrology behavior is primarily controlled by the rain patterns, the morphometric characteristics of the basin (bathymetry), the evapotranspiration processes, and the flow patterns of the river that communicates the wetland with the magdalena river.
Mitochondrial diversity and the origin of Iberian sheep
Pedrosa Susana,Arranz Juan-José,Brito Nuno,Molina Antonio
Genetics Selection Evolution , 2007, DOI: 10.1186/1297-9686-39-1-91
Abstract: Mitochondrial DNA diversity was analysed in 19 Iberian and six foreign sheep breeds. Three mtDNA lineages (B, A and C) were found in the Iberian sheep, with type B clearly predominating over the others. The results were analysed for each of the morphologically determined breed groups in Iberian sheep: Merino, Entrefino, Churro and Iberian trunks. MtDNA lineage C was found only in the Iberian trunk composed of Montesina and Ojalada. These two populations had high mtDNA variability, and in the Iberian sheep only Merino Branco had more variation. The other three Merino types studied showed moderate variability, including the most authentic Merino, the Spanish Merino. These three Merinos clustered closely in a multidimensional scaling representation of distances, while the fourth breed (Merino Branco) showed a clear separation. As for the other two trunks, breeds from the Churro group showed greater maternal uniformity while results for populations included in the so-called Entrefino trunk seemed to have a more heterogeneous maternal origin. The results obtained are discussed with available data from nuclear markers and with morphological classifications, and all this information is analysed in relation to the origin of the different Iberian sheep breeds.

Quivera , 2009,
Effect of polymorphisms in the Slc11a1 coding region on resistance to brucellosis by macrophages in vitro and after challenge in two Bos breeds (Blanco Orejinegro and Zebu)

Genetics and Molecular Biology , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1415-47572010000300014
Abstract: the resistance/susceptibility of selected cattle breeds to brucellosis was evaluated in an f1 population generated by crossing animals classified as resistant (r) and susceptible (s) (r x r, r x s, s x r, s x s) based on challenges in vitro and in vivo. the association between single nucleotide polymorphisms identified in the coding region of the slc11a1 gene and resistance/susceptibility was estimated. the trait resistance or susceptibility to brucellosis, evaluated by a challenge in vitro, showed a high heritable component in terms of additive genetic variance (h2 = 0.54 ± 0.11). in addition, there was a significant association (p < 0.05) between the control of bacterial survival and two polymorphisms (a 3'utr and snp4 located in exon 10). the antibody response of animals classified as resistant to infection by brucella abortus differed significantly (p < 0.05) from that of susceptible animals. however, there was no significant association between single nucleotide polymorphisms located in the slc11a1 gene and the antibody response stimulated by a challenge in vivo.
