A Study to Assess Knowledge and Attitude Regarding Selected Government Health Insurance Schemes among Staff Nurse in Selected Hospitals of Ahmedabad District: A Main Study  [PDF]

Abstract:
Background: Hospital bills for very small to considerably large ailments are a pain. It’s difficult to meet such costs on our own without burning a hole in our savings. Also, with medical costs escalating, some even compromise on quality healthcare, because of affordability. It is then that the importance of health insurance comes into the picture. Objectives of the study: 1) To assess the knowledge regarding selected government health insurance schemes among staff nurses working in selected hospitals of Ahmedabad District. 2) To assess attitude regarding selected government health insurance schemes among staff nurses working in selected hospitals of Ahmedabad District. 3) To find the correlation between knowledge score and attitude score regarding selected government health insurance schemes among staff nurses working in selected hospitals of Ahmedabad District. 4) To find the association between knowledge and attitude score with selected demographic variables. Methodology: The study utilized quantitative research approach with de-scriptive research design. The sample size was 170 selected using conven-ient non-probability sampling technique. The data were collected through self-structured questionnaire instrument which is validated by experts. Split half method was computed for finding out the reliability. The data are organized, analyzed and presented by using Karl Pearson’s correlation co-efficient formula and chi-square test. Major findings and result: The findings revealed that majority of staff nurses had average knowledge 91.18%, and 5.29% staff nurses had poor knowledge whereas 3.52% staff nurses had good knowledge. In present study finding reveled that, majority of 87.04% staff nurses have favorable attitude and 12.94% staff nurses have unfavorable attitude regarding MA and MAV Yojana. Computed chi-square value was less than table value at the level of significance indicating no significance association between level of knowledge score and selected so-cio-demographic variables. Conclusion: Investigators concluded that most of the staff nurses who were participated in the study have average knowledge and favorable attitude regarding selected government health insurance schemes. There is no correlation between knowledge score and attitude score where as there is no association between level of knowledge, level of attitude with so-cio-demographic variables.
INDUSTRIAL PROCESS VALIDATION OF TABLET DOSAGE FORM: AN OVERVIEW

Abstract: In pharmaceutical organizations, validation is a fundamental segment that supports a company commitment to quality assurance. Validation is a tool of quality assurance which provides confirmation of the quality in equipment systems, manufacturing processes, software and testing methods. Validation assures that products with pre-determined quality characteristics and attributes can be reproduced consistently/reproducibly within the established limits of the manufacturing process operation at the manufacturing site. Validation of the individual steps of the manufacturing processes is called the process validation. Different dosage forms have different validation protocols. Here this article concentrates on the process validation of tablet dosage form, protocol preparation and regulatory basis for process validation in industry. It gives in detail the validation of each step of the manufacturing process of tablets through wet granulation.
ORAL SUSTAINED RELEASE DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEM: AN OVERVIEW

Abstract: In the recent years, focus on the development of oral controlled release drug delivery systems has increased. Oral ingestion has been the most convenient and commonly employed route of drug delivery. Indeed, for sustained-release systems, the oral route of administration has by far received the most attention with respect to research on physiological and drug constraints. Sustained release dosage forms are designed to release a drug at a predetermined rate by maintaining a constant drug level for a specific period of time with minimum side effects. Sustained release of drugs in gastrointestinal tract following oral administration is not affected by the absorption process. Here this article concentrates on preparations, factors influencing, design, formulation, and the evaluation of oral sustained release preparations. The principal goal of sustained release dosage forms is the improvement of drug therapy assessed by the relationship between advantages and disadvantages of the use of sustained release systems.
LDPC concatenated space-time block coded system in multipath fading environment: Analysis and evaluation

Abstract: Irregular low-density parity-check (LDPC) codes have been found to show exceptionally good performance for single antenna systems over a wide class of channels. In this paper, the performance of LDPC codes with multiple antenna systems is investigated in flat Rayleigh and Rician fading channels for different modulation schemes. The focus of attention is mainly on the concatenation of irregular LDPC codes with complex orthogonal space-time codes. Iterative decoding is carried out with a density evolution method that sets a threshold above which the code performs well. For the proposed concatenated system, the simulation results show that the QAM technique achieves a higher coding gain of 8.8 dB and 3.2 dB over the QPSK technique in Rician (LOS) and Rayleigh (NLOS) faded environments respectively.
THE CONCEPT OF EMPLOYEE BRANDING AND ITS EFFECTIVENESS AS A TOOL FOR EMPLOYEE RETENTION.

Abstract: Employee branding concept is a relatively new concept in the field of Human Resource Management. Employee turnover is an age old problem. The HR departments have struggled with several ways and techniques to minimize the high attrition rate, but the statistics show that there has been little or no improvement. There is an eminent need to go to root of the problem and understand that the decision of quitting is ultimately the employee's, hence if the employee is unhappy the turnover intention shall be high. This paper attempts to understand the concept of employee branding in such a manner so as to find its applicability as a tool for employee retention.

Abstract: Grids are emerging as the infrastructure for next generation computing. The resources in the Grid are heterogeneous and geographically distributed. The management of resources in such a large and distributed environment is a complex task. In this paper a model has been proposed using auction oriented approach. In thisauction model each bidder offers a bid for a collection ofresources rather than placing a bid on each item separately.This enables the bidder to express dependencies and complementarities between various resources. It can havevarious types selection such as Telecom Spectrum, BusRoutes and Industrial Procurement. This model has alsobeen implemented.

Abstract: Computer has been widely deployed to our daily lives, but human computer interaction still lacks intuition. Researchers intend to resolve these shortcomings by augmenting traditional systems with human like interaction mechanism. Dedicated hardware often infers the emotional state from human body measures. These have been a considerable amount of research done into the detection and implicit communication channels, including the study of facial feature extraction. [5] Artificial recognition of facial features has attracted a lot of attention due to its potential commercial value in fields like Lie detection, Surveillance, Criminal Investigation, Security and Forensic applications. Facial feature extraction can be utilized for automated analysis of human emotion. Communication between humans is influenced by emotion. Interpersonal behavior is affected by facial expressions during communication. Recent approaches for facial expression detection is Feature Based Method by Black and Yacoob (1997). The feature based approach uses a training set of images for different emotional expressions. The features are extracted from each emotion subset for all facial expressions and then are subsequently tested unseen facial images. Feature based technique involves detecting changes of the features in different facial regions. The selection of these facial regions is based on the Facial Action Coding System (FACS). [9].
