Abstract: As the size of web increases along with number of users, it is very much essential for the websiteowners to better understand their customers so that they can provide better service, and also enhance thequality of the website. To achieve this they depend on the web access log files. The web access log files can bemined to extract interesting pattern so that the user behavior can be understood. This paper presents anoverview of web usage mining and also provides a survey of functionalities that are associated with web logfiles used for web usage mining.

Abstract: Acute central nervous system (CNS) injuries such as spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, autoimmune encephalomyelitis, and ischemic stroke are associated with significant morbidity, mortality, and health care costs worldwide. Preliminary research has shown potential neuroprotection associated with adult tissue derived stem/progenitor cell based therapies. While initial research indicated that engraftment and transdifferentiation into neural cells could explain the observed benefit, the exact mechanism remains controversial. A second hypothesis details localized stem/progenitor cell engraftment with alteration of the loco-regional milieu; however, the limited rate of cell engraftment makes this theory less likely. There is a growing amount of preclinical data supporting the idea that, after intravenous injection, stem/progenitor cells interact with immunologic cells located in organ systems distant to the CNS, thereby altering the systemic immunologic/inflammatory response. Such distant cell “bioreactors” could modulate the observed post-injury pro-inflammatory environment and lead to neuroprotection. In this review, we discuss the current literature detailing the above mechanisms of action for adult stem/progenitor cell based therapies in the CNS.
Intravenous multipotent adult progenitor cell therapy after traumatic brain injury: modulation of the resident microglia population

Abstract: Introduction We have demonstrated previously that the intravenous delivery of multipotent adult progenitor cells (MAPC) after traumatic brain injury affords neuroprotection via interaction with splenocytes, leading to an increase in systemic anti-inflammatory cytokines. We hypothesize that the observed modulation of the systemic inflammatory milieu is related to T regulatory cells and a subsequent increase in the locoregional neuroprotective M2 macrophage population. Methods C57B6 mice were injected with intravenous MAPC 2 and 24 hours after controlled cortical impact injury. Animals were euthanized 24, 48, 72, and 120 hours after injury. In vivo, the proportion of CD4+/CD25+/FOXP3+ T-regulatory cells were measured in the splenocyte population and plasma. In addition, the brain CD86+ M1 and CD206+ M2 macrophage populations were quantified. A series of in vitro co-cultures were completed to investigate the need for direct MAPC:splenocyte contact as well as the effect of MAPC therapy on M1 and M2 macrophage subtype apoptosis and proliferation. Results Significant increases in the splenocyte and plasma T regulatory cell populations were observed with MAPC therapy at 24 and 48 hours, respectively. In addition, MAPC therapy was associated with an increase in the brain M2/M1 macrophage ratio at 24, 48 and 120 hours after cortical injury. In vitro cultures of activated microglia with supernatant derived from MAPC:splenocyte co-cultures also demonstrated an increase in the M2/M1 ratio. The observed changes were secondary to an increase in M1 macrophage apoptosis. Conclusions The data show that the intravenous delivery of MAPC after cortical injury results in increases in T regulatory cells in splenocytes and plasma with a concordant increase in the locoregional M2/M1 macrophage ratio. Direct contact between the MAPC and splenocytes is required to modulate activated microglia, adding further evidence to the central role of the spleen in MAPC-mediated neuroprotection.
Analysis of Vortex Motion in Porous Media  [PDF]

Abstract: In vortex motion fluid moves in curve path and the stream lines are curved. When the fluid flows between curved stream line, the centrifugal forces are setup which is counter balanced by pressure forces acting in the radial direction. The vortex motion has two types of curved motion. The first type called free vortex type, the fluid moves due to its own natural effect but energy is not added to fluid when moving in curved path. The second type called forced vortex, in which energy is added to fluid. A two dimensional steady laminar free convective flow of viscous incompressible flow in porous media voids is considered. In this paper the motion of fluid is studied while moving in the porous media. It is studied that the motion of the fluid in the porous media is vortex motion at the low Reynolds’s number, where the motion is laminar motion and the fluid obeys the laws of vortex motion.

Abstract:

Objective: To evaluate the role of chromohysteroscopy in improving diagnostic accuracy of endometrial biopsy in cases of AUB. Design: Cross sectional interventional study. Materials and Methods: This study was conducted on 60 women with AUB in Dept. of Obst. & Gyne at King George Medical University, Lucknow over a period of one year. All cases underwent diagnostic hysteroscopy followed by chromohysteroscopy using 2% methylene blue dye. Hysteroscopic guided biopsy was taken from stained and unstained areas followed by an endometrial aspiration biopsy from whole uterine cavity. The histopathology results of three samples were compared and analyzed in relation with staining pattern and type of AUB. Data analysis was done on SPSS version 15 of windows 2007. Results: Out of 60 cases, 11cases were found to have non hormonal pathology after chromohysterosopic biopsy. Eight (72.72%) cases were diagnosed by stained endometrial tissue, one (9.09%) by unstained tissue and three (27.27%) by endometrial aspiration. The diagnostic ability of stained tissue biopsy was significantly higher (p = 0.006) than unstained biopsy and endometrial aspiration. Conclusion: Chromohysteroscopy is a simple and effective technique for diagnosing endometrial pathology in cases of AUB.

Abstract: Due to the high number of bands in the hyperspectral image, the selection of optimum bands for crop classification is a prerequisite. The Hyperion sensor has 242 spectral bands out of which 143 useable bands were selected. The bands reflected wavelength from 400 to 1000 nm to the VNIR spectrometer and transmitted the band from 900 to 2500 nm to the SWIR spectrometer. Spectral Angle Mapping Classification (SAMC) approach and a multi-scale object oriented method are applied for crop studies. The result obtained from the accuracy assessment by comparing Ground Control Points (GCP) with the help of image spectra shows 78% of overall accuracy. This shows that these data are highly useful in studying the crop diversification.

Abstract: For emerging markets like India, where around 80 percent of the crude requirements are met through imports, it is an imperative task to comprehend impact of global crude oil price shocks on Indian macroeconomic variables. The present study attempts to understand these asymmetric dynamic interactions between global crude oil price shocks and Indian macroeconomic variables by employing Markov switching-Vector Autoregressive (MS-VAR) regime-dependent impulse responses in level forms. The findings hold an important place in the wake of inflation targeting regime adopted by the monetary policy authorities. The findings highlight the existence of two regimes, namely lower and higher oil price variance regimes. The response of industrial production and consumer prices is different towards oil price shocks in different regimes. In the lower oil variance regime, there is negative (positive) relationship observed between crude oil shocks and industrial production (consumer prices). On the other hand, there is a positive equilibrium shift in the industrial production in the higher oil variance regime with cost pushing inflationary pressures in the long run. The findings bear strong implication for the policy makers in their attempt to combat effects of crude oil shocks. As per the findings, the emerging market policy makers should display a cautious approach during higher oil price volatile phases in order to support industrial production and consumer demand.

Abstract: In this paper, I have explored a significant concept for the miniaturization of microstrip patch antenna configuration by using the double negative (DNG) left-handed Metamaterials, which have dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability both negative, simultaneously. It is achieved through the concept of phase-compensation by thin slab consist of the double positive (DPS) material, which have dielectric permittivity and magnetic permeability both positive, simultaneously and DNG metamaterials as a substrate of the microstrip patch antenna. By combining the DNG metamaterial slab with the slab made of DPS materials form a cavity resonator whose dispersion relation is independent of the sum of thickness of the slabs filling this cavity but it depends on the ratio of their thicknesses. This cavity constitutes by DPS and DNG material is used as substrate of the microstrip antennas and the DNG material slab is behave as phase compensator.

Abstract: One dimensional advection dispersion equation is analytically solved initially in solute free domain by considering uniform exponential decay input condition at origin. Heterogeneous medium of semi infinite extent is considered. Due to heterogeneity velocity and dispersivity coefficient of the advection dispersion equation are considered functions of space variable and time variable. Analytical solution is obtained using Laplace transform technique when dispersivity depended on velocity. The effects of first order decay term and adsorption are studied.
