A Fast MEANSHIFT Algorithm-Based Target Tracking System
Jian Sun
Sensors , 2012, DOI: 10.3390/s120608218
Abstract: Tracking moving targets in complex scenes using an active video camera is a challenging task. Tracking accuracy and efficiency are two key yet generally incompatible aspects of a Target Tracking System (TTS). A compromise scheme will be studied in this paper. A fast mean-shift-based Target Tracking scheme is designed and realized, which is robust to partial occlusion and changes in object appearance. The physical simulation shows that the image signal processing speed is > 50 frame/s.
New Exact Explicit Solutions of the Generalized Zakharov Equation via the First Integral Method  [PDF]
Yuhuai Sun, Hanlei Hu, Jian Zhang
Open Journal of Applied Sciences (OJAppS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ojapps.2014.45025
Abstract: The generalized Zakharov equation is a coupled equation which is a classic nonlinear mathematic model in plasma. A series of new exact explicit solutions of the system are obtained, by means of the first integral method, in the form of trigonometric and exponential functions. The results show the first integral method is an efficient way to solve the coupled nonlinear equations and get rich explicit analytical solutions.

Abstract: a novel kind of adsorbent li 1+xlaxzr2-x(po4)3 was synthesized by solid state reaction method. the influence of the content of doping lanthanum on the adsorbent li 1+xlaxzr2-x(po4)3 was investigated by xrd and ftir spectra while the morphology of powders was observed by sem. the investigation of the adsorption properties showed that the adsorbent can selectively adsorb sodium with the adsorption capacity of 49.83 mg/g. the optimum conditions of adsorption are at ph 10.0-11.0 in licl solution.
Multiple nonnegative solutions for BVPs of fourth-order difference equations
Sun Jian-Ping
Advances in Difference Equations , 2006,
Abstract: First, existence criteria for at least three nonnegative solutions to the following boundary value problem of fourth-order difference equation Δ4x(t-2) = a(t)f(x(t)),t ∈ [2, T], x(0) = x(T + 2) = 0, Δ2x(0) = Δ2x(T) = 0 are established by using the well-known Leggett-Williams fixed point theorem, and then, for arbitrary positive integer m, existence results for at least 2m-1 nonnegative solutions are obtained.
Mega-events, Local Economies, and Global Status: What Happened before the 2008 Olympics in Beijing and the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai
Jian Sun,Lin Ye
Journal of Current Chinese Affairs , 2010,
Abstract: Mega-events such as the World Cup and the Olympics have been used for economic development, urban transformation and global status enhancement. Beijing and Shanghai embraced these purposes when they won the bids for the 2008 Olympics and the 2010 World Expo respectively. This article examines the pre-event economic changes in Beijing and Shanghai that are associated with their pursuit of mega-events. Changes in a group of economic indicators are tracked from 1997 to 2006. It was found that after winning the bids for the Olympics and the World Expo, Beijing and Shanghai experienced greater growth in construction and tourism, a speeding-up in economic development and restructuring, and an improvement in physical infrastructure. However, the enhancement of global exposure was not accompanied by growth in foreign trade and in the finance, insurance and real estate (FIRE) industries. The empirical analyses place the mega-events in large economic contexts and provide a base for future post-event studies.
Effects of Chinese herbal medicine Huaiqihuang Granule on nephrin and podocin expressions in renal tissues of rats with adriamycin-induced nephrosis

Abstract: Object: To investigate the effects of Huaiqihuang Granule, a compound Chinese herbal medicine, on expressions of nephrin and podocin of slit diaphragm of glomerular podocytes in rats with adriamycin-induced nephrosis and to explore the mechanism in reducing the proteinuria. Methods: Twenty SD rats were randomly divided into five groups: control group, model group, glucocorticoid group, Huaiqihuang Granule group and Huaiqihuang Granule plus glucocorticoid group. The 24-hour urine was collected 7, 14, 21 and 28 days after adriamycin injection respectively to measure 24-hour urinary protein, and all rats were sacrificed after 28-day treatment. Pathological changes in renal tissues were observed under a light microscope and an electron microscope. Expressions of nephrin and podocin mRNAs in renal cortex were determined by real-time polymerase chain reaction, and protein levels of nephrin and podocin were detected by Western blotting. Results: (1) In the model group and the treatment groups, the level of urinary protein increased significantly from the 14th day. (2) Under the light microscope, inflammatory cells and slight fibroplasia were found in renal interstitium of the model group, but there were less inflammatory cells in renal interstitium in the intervention groups than in the model group. Under the electron microscope, 29 days after adriamycin injection, extensive fusion of foot processes was observed. (3) The expressions of nephrin and podocin were higher in treatment groups than in the model group. (4) Proteinuria level was negatively correlated with the expressions of nephrin mRNA and nephrin and podocin proteins. Conclusion: The above results indicate that Huaiqihuang Granule can maintain the integrity of the slid diaphragram in podocyte, alleviate the lesion of glomerular filtration membrane, and decrease the proteinuria by up-regulating the expressions of nephrin and podocin. Huaiqihuang Granule plus glucocorticoid maybe has better effects than glucocorticoid alone.
Functional Mechanisms for Human Tumor Suppressors
Wanpeng Sun, Jian Yang
Journal of Cancer , 2010,
Abstract: Tumor suppressors refer to a large group of molecules that are capable of controlling cell division, promoting apoptosis, and suppressing metastasis. The loss of function for a tumor suppressor may lead to cancer due to uncontrolled cell division. Because of their importance, extensive studies have been undertaken to understand the different functional mechanisms of tumor suppressors. Here, we briefly review the four major mechanisms, inhibition of cell division, induction of apoptosis, DNA damage repair, and inhibition of metastasis. It is noteworthy that some tumor suppressors, such as p53, may adopt more than one mechanism for their functions.
Study on the Transaction Patterns based on the Characteristics of Transactions between Agricultural Enterprises and Farmers
Jun Zhang,Jian Sun
Journal of Modern Agriculture , 2013,
Abstract: In this article, 417 copies of peasant household survey data has been utilized to analyze the impact of transaction characteristics and trading patterns on flexible and sales performance of trading by means of multiple regression model. The results show that there has a positive impact seller's asset specificity makes on performance of both flexibility and sales, compared to the insignificant impact buyer’s asset specificity makes; in addition, transaction uncertainty and trading frequency have a positive impact on flexibility and sales performance, respectively; while market-practice in trading patterns is contributive to both flexible and sales performance, however, the pattern of explicit contract trading only has a contribution to flexible performance, in contrast with vertically integrated trading pattern which has little contribution to flexible and sales performance. In conclusion, it has been pointed out that these measurement should be taken such as the decline of transaction cost in the trade of agricultural resources; the improvement for farmers both in the awareness of systematism as well as in the specificity of their assert; and the encouragement on the application of modern trade devices.

Abstract: We are concerned with the following nonlinear second-order three-point boundary value problem on time scales xΔΔ(t)=f(t,x(t)), t∈[a,b] , x(a)=0, x(σ2(b))=δx(η), where a,b∈ with a
