Sultan T. Abu-Orabi
Molecules , 2002, DOI: 10.3390/70200302
Abstract: We review in this article some of our work which has been published over the last fifteen years in the area of 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions of substituted benzyl azides with acetylenic compounds to form the corresponding 1,2-3-triazoles. Several triazole derivatives were transformed into triazolopyridazine and triazolo-1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives upon their reactions with hydrazine.
Effect of Interest, Moving Average, and Historical Volatility in Forecasting Exchange Prices of Major International Currencies
Marwan Mohammad Abu Orabi,Abdul Aziz F. AA. Saymeh
International Journal of Economics and Finance , 2012, DOI: 10.5539/ijef.v4n5p246
Abstract: Forecasting foreign exchange prices drives the concerns of financial investors and occupies the minds of financial analysts as well. Most Current forecasting formulas used to employ individual financial factors, either fundamental or technical. The purpose of this study is to test the effect of combined financial factors in forecasting future exchange prices of world currencies. This study used one fundamental factor and two technical factors merged in one mathematical formula. Researchers have merged interest rate, historical volatility, and moving average in one formula. Empirical tests included correlation, Covariance tests to measure the magnitude of the linear relation between historical and computed exchange rates; F.Test aimed to show whether the two sets of historical and computed data have the same standard deviation at the specified confidence levels. Data included historical and computed sets of exchange prices of Swiss Franc, Sterling Pound, European Euro, and Japanese Yen against U.S.Dollar.Study period extended for ten years, i.e. 2000-2008.Results reflected high correlation and low covariance and accepted F.test; there were some biases due to extraneous factors which had affected the exchange rates for certain times during the testing period.
The Effect of Interest Rate, Inflation Rate, GDP, on Real Economic Growth Rate in Jordan
Abdul Aziz Farid Saymeh,Marwan Mohammad Abu Orabi
Asian Economic and Financial Review , 2013,
Abstract: The main objective of this study is to investigate the effect of interest rate, inflation rate, and GDP on real economic growth in Jordan over the period 2000-2010. Unit root test (Augmented Dickey-Fuller test) has been exploited to check the integration order of the variables. Acointegration analysis with four variables (economic growth, interest rate, GDP, and inflation level) is employed. Study adopted Johansen test. Findings indicated that both trace test and max eigenvalue static showed that the four equations have significant existent 1% or 5%. It means that all variables have long term equilibrium relationship. Study adopted the same four variables to discuss Granger Causality relationship; findings indicated that inflation causes interest rate. On the other hand all other variables are independent with each other. Regressionwas conducted to test growth rate with interest rate which showed that current interest rate has an influence power on growth rate. Also, regression used to test growth rate with inflation rate; it showed that inflation rate has influence power on growth rate. Finally regression used to test GDP, interest rate, and inflation rate together; results have shown that current GDP and one lag GDP have influence power to growth rate.
Waiting in T. S. Eliot’s ‘The Waste Land’
Sabbar S. Sultan,Ibrahim Abu Shihab
Studies in Literature and Language , 2011, DOI: 10.3968/j.sll.1923156320110302.448
Abstract: Eliot’s ‘The Waste Land’ has never ceased stirring controversy among critics and readers of English literature. The multiplicity of its implications and deliberate gaps to be filled by the readers are some of its outstanding traits. The present paper, however, focuses its attention on the act of waiting as an underlying theme unifying its loose structure. The study comprises two sections. The first is preliminary in that it highlights the great amount of debate and polar appraisals of the poem and its writer. The second, much the longest, explores the different dimensions of this topic. Key words: Waiting; The Waste land; Meaninglessness; Redemption, Mythological; Saving

Although of the economic benefits gained by tourism, deterioration has been witnessed in this ancient city since damage to features of the archaeological site as well as adapting negative values by the local community took place. This paper sheds the light on these impacts, and presents some suggested implications to achieve a more sustainable tourism development in the site.
Knowledge Management and Usability Model for Knowledge Management System
Nafaizatulnaniah Hashim,Abu Bakar Md Sultan
Computer and Information Science , 2009, DOI: 10.5539/cis.v2n3p166
Abstract: Many studies and works have been done to produce a Knowledge Management System (KMS) in which employees of any organization can access the organization’s sources of information and solutions. However, there is still no standard knowledge measurement and usability model that can assist KMS user to select or evaluate the appropriate KMS. The aim of this paper is to analyze how the ISO Consolidated Usability Model suggested by Abran, Khelifi, Suryn and Seffah can be used in measuring knowledge and evaluating usability for any Knowledge Management System. The methodology used is a user-satisfaction questionnaire developed based on the ISO Consolidated Usability Model.
Validate Conference Paper using Dice Coefficient
Nurhilyana Anuar,Abu Bakar Md Sultan
Computer and Information Science , 2010, DOI: 10.5539/cis.v3n3p139
Abstract: The world is changing from paper based system towards online system so called web based system which is more efficient and productive. Most of the developing countries have started to implement the online system or system based to the respective area that they are doing. The aim is to increase their quality, efficiency, productivity and competitiveness in their service. Nowadays, searching can be done by system which is much faster compared to the past decades, searching of file or information has been done manually. Moreover, searching technique is the most popular technique used by the search engines such as Google or Yahoo!, to find the similar files in response to the user s queries. Thus, through this project, we would like to develop a prototype system which can automatically validate conference papers which are submitted by researchers based on the conference themes that have been organized. As we study, the existing validation for conference papers have been validated manually by the administrator. With the present of the system, it helps to improve the validation task through the system. The technique will be used is similarity search technique based on keywords, so that all the papers submitted can be verified by the system automatically.

Asian Economic and Financial Review , 2012,
Abstract: Accounting, economic, social and political, and slack resources theories provide different perspectives to addressing corporate social responsibility in relation to disclosure, corporate financial performance e.t.c. This paper aims to identify the determinants financial and non financial of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in Jordan .The annual reports determine a sample of 60 industrial companies listed on the Amman Stock Exchange for a period from 2006 to 2010 in Jordan were used as a basis for the study. The results of the analysis imply that companies that are expected to be large in size firm, age of firm, maintaining growth and are highly leveraged are more likely to voluntary disclose social responsibility information. The result lends partial support to agency and political economy theories.
