Religious Foundations of Statements and Attitudes that Signify Ecstatic Utterances
Necmettin ?eker
Igdir University Journal of Social Sciences , 2012,
Abstract: Statements and attitudes called ecstatic utterance in mystical language and happened unconsciously in overflowing from the dab of Sufism have been the matter of a lot debates until today. It is difficult to know the true meanings and purposes of such statements, which are not possible both proving and refutation them, for someone else from who tell it. It is believed that these statements have been said in recovery, ecstasy, lost and supremacy; such that since they have outwardly been seemed contrary to religious rules, wherefore these aspects many of the Sufis have been accused of unbelief, furthermore, they have been given fatwas to be murdered. For all that, the dab of Sufism has been developed some solutions in order to get rid of these imputations and to defend the aforesaid statements. One of these solutions is the effort of attributing the statements and attitudes that signify ecstatic utterances to verses and hadith, and of approving to them by verses and hadith. But verses and hadith they have used, except for spot of them, had no concern with aforesaid statements.

It has been used by the Malay scholars as a medium of education in imparting the knowledge and understanding of Islam. Nonetheless, its importance has been underestimated by some scholars as irrelevant and insignificant. Thus, this article provides an overview on the important aspects of the Kitab Jawi in Sufism as a source of Islamic knowledge on sufism and as an intermediary role of this genre in transmitting the opinion of the Muslim scholars from the al-Haramayn, the centre of Islamic knowledge, and the Malay people in the Archipelago.

Nogueira, Luciana Persice;
Alea : Estudos Neolatinos , 2003, DOI: 10.1590/S1517-106X2003000200007
Abstract: ben jelloun's text is full of apparent ambiguities: masculine-feminine, lie-truth, visibility-invisibility... this dichotomic structure is based on the pair zahir-battin, concepts from sufistic philosophy, inserted in between the lines through jorge luis borges (either as character or as intertext), and through the direct mention of islamic mysticism. the multiple storytellers and the tragic quest, by the main characters, of their identities, reveal the obstinate and symbolic use of the mask by ben jelloun, which reinforces the dichotomy, but also reveals its illusory nature. other sufi themes can be stressed: laughter, the dhikr, the double, the magic mirror, unity in multiplicity, the dissolution of individuality, the extinction - fana, and the illusion of time. these themes represent the ambiguous situation and condition of the migrant.

Abstract: There have been some mistakes and contradictory information in the documents which deal with Old Turkish Literature. Some of them are among the works which can be regarded as the basic documents of this field. It is not true to accept them as the mistakes and contradictions only in information. Because these mistakes and contradictions cause great trouble in the transcription and explanation of texts. Sufism, one of the important concepts which Old Turkish Literature is based on, is the field in which such errors and contradictions take place mostly. Especially the concepts of monoteism, love of man, divine love and human love are much more confused with the other terms and concepts. This study consists of the opinions mentioned above.
