Abstract: Is Romania affected by the country risk? Country risk, especially the score given by the rating companies is meant to lead to economic growth or recession. Is it possible for only one grade to have that much impact upon the economy? The truth is that such

Abstract: The recess of the administrativedocuments supposes the temporary, provisional cessationof the administrative documents and can be disposedwhen there is a doubt, an incertitude regarding thelawfulness and opportunity of an administrativedocument. The recess can be realized by the issuing organ,by the superior hierarchic body and not by the trialinstance. The rescission of the administrative documentsappoints the juridical operation through which the issuingbody disposes that the withdrawal of its own document tobe as result of the disposals of the superior hierarchicbody. In case that, principally, administrativedocuments are revocable, there are also exceptions fromthis rule, concerning individual administrative documents, the normative ones being always revocable.

Abstract: Nucleoside analogues play an important role in the development of antitumor and antiviral agents. Specific sugar modified pyranonucleosides, like the keto and exocyclic methylene nucleosides, have been studied for their biological properties, but there is little information regarding their antioxidant activity. The present study reports the antioxidant activity of a series of α,β-unsaturated 2’- or 4’ - keto and exomethylene 5’-hydroxymethyl-lacking pyranonucleosides. The antioxidant activity was evaluated using an in vitro assay which is based on the capacity to protect DNA strand scission induced by peroxyl radicals (ROO?). The majority of the tested nucleoside analogues exhibit potent antioxidant properties against ROO? radicals. We conclude that the presence of a carbon-carbon double bond at α,β-disposition to exomethylene group at position 2 of the sugar moiety and the substitution of thymine with uracil improves the antioxidant capacity of these analogues.

Integrated System Based on Wireless Sensors Network for Cardiac Arrhythmia Monitoring
Advances in Electrical and Computer Engineering , 2013, DOI: 10.4316/aece.2013.01016
Abstract: This paper describes the research carried out for designing and producing an integrated system for monitoring patients suffering from cardiac arrhythmias. Our system is based on a wireless sensors network (WSN) and can be used in hospital or at home. It is able to measure and transmit the patient's heart rate (HR) by radio to a central telemonitoring station. The HR is continuously computed from the electrocardiographic signals using custom developed devices. These devices are attached to the patient and are based on low power microcontrollers and wireless transceivers. The data is uploaded through WSN on the central telemonitoring station. The software running on the telemonitoring station receives the HRs from monitored patients through WSN, displays them as temporal waveforms and activates the alerts when HR arrhythmia is detected. An experimental system for cardiac arrhythmia has been designed, implemented and tested.
Visualization of Segmented Structures in 3D Multimodal Medical Data Sets
Advances in Electrical and Computer Engineering , 2011, DOI: 10.4316/aece.2011.03016
Abstract: The simultaneous inspection of images obtained using different medical scanning methods represents a common practice for accurate medical diagnosis. The term multimodality refers to multiple medical data sets obtained by scanning a patient with the same method at different time moments or with different scanning techniques. Recent research efforts in computer graphics have attempted to solve the problem of visualizing multimodal data in the same scene, for a better understanding of human anatomy or for pathology tracking. This paper proposes a method of integrating segmented structures from a contrast enhanced MRI sequence into the volume reconstructed from the slices of another MRI sequence obtained with different scanning parameters. A direct volume rendering (DVR) approach is used to represent focus and context information from the 3D data. The presented approach aims to help physicians in understanding pathologies and in the process of accurate diagnosis establishment.

Abstract: Fluorinated nucleoside analogues are known as antitumor, antiviral andchemotherapeutic agents, although the antioxidant activity of this kind of molecules is notyet investigated. In this study we have tested the antioxidant activity of a series of modifiedpyrano-nucleoside analogues using three in vitro assays. Firstly, the antioxidant capacity ofthe products was assessed using the DPPH assay and secondly, in order to examine theability of the products to protect DNA from the activity of reactive oxygen species (ROS),a peroxyl radical (ROO?) and a hydroxyl radical (OH?) induced DNA strand scission assaywere used. None of the molecules showed the ability to scavenge DPPH radical andprevent OH? induced DNA strand breakage. Although, most of the tested nucleosideanalogues, had the ability to prevent ROO? induced DNA damage.

Abstract: this study have had the aim to analyze the physical activity practice in different life periods for people with disabilities. in the project there were involved nine young male adults, carrying some physical disability and who practiced physical activities and/or sports. to collect the data it was used an interview composed of some questions concerning to life history, disability and physical activities in different life stages, the analysis of data was by categories. during childhood and adolescence eight participants practiced dynamic activities and joined physical education classes; as adults four continued previous practices , one has started and another has no access; nowadays they practice many sports and six believed that physical disability interfers with sports practicing. and yet, seven assumed that activities during school age interfere in which they practice at the moment, emphasizing the importance of people with physical disability joining physical education classes.
