Greedy Friensdhip Decompositions of Graphs  [PDF]
Teresa Sousa
Open Journal of Discrete Mathematics (OJDM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/ojdm.2011.11004
Abstract: A graph that consists of t cliques sharing a vertex v is said to be a t-friendship graph with center v. A friendship graph is a graph that is t-friendship for some . We solve the problem of finding the best upper bound for the size of a greedy 2-friendship decomposition and a greedy friendship decomposition of graphs of order n.
The H-Decomposition Problem for Graphs  [PDF]
Teresa Sousa
Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/am.2012.311237
Abstract: The concept of H-decompositions of graphs was first introduced by Erd?s, Goodman and Pósa in 1966, who were motivated by the problem of representing graphs by set intersections. Given graphs G and H, an H-decomposition of G is a partition of the edge set of G such that each part is either a single edge or forms a graph isomorphic to H. Let Ф(n,H) be the smallest number Ф, such that, any graph of order n admits an H-decomposition with at most Ф parts. The exact computation of Ф(n,H) for an arbitrary H is still an open problem. Recently, a few papers have been published about this problem. In this survey we will bring together all the results about H-decompositions. We will also introduce two new related problems, namely Weighted H-Decompositions of graphs and Monochromatic H-Decom- positions of graphs.
4-Cycle Decompositions of Graphs  [PDF]
Teresa Sousa
Open Journal of Discrete Mathematics (OJDM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/ojdm.2012.24024
Abstract: In this paper we consider the problem of finding the smallest number such that any graph G of order n admits a decomposition into edge disjoint copies of C4 and single edges with at most elements. We solve this problem for n sufficiently large.
Naturotherapies Based on Minerals  [PDF]
Celso de Sousa Figueiredo Gomes
Geomaterials (GM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/gm.2013.31001
Abstract:

Since the antiquity, and on an empirical basis, man has accumulated experience on the benefits and risks of minerals (such as, special clay, mud and sand) and other mineral resources (such as, salt, sea water, spring water, underground water, volcanic emissions and dust) on human health. Man and minerals are chemical systems sharing a common composition, comprising major, minor and trace chemical elements, such as, oxygen, hydrogen, carbon, sulphur, phosphor, calcium, magnesium, sodium, potassium, iron, silicon, zinc, selenium, copper, manganese and fluorine, all essential to life, to a high standard of living and to the formation of minerals; in the natural environment where man lives minerals and chemical elements are omnipresent, therefore, interactions are expected to occur and to condition mans life and his standard of living, in turn highly determined by our health state. Examples of the properties and medicinal use of certain types of special clay, certain types of special sand, and certain types of special natural mineral water, thermal or not, in the treatment of particular types of health affections will be disclosed.

Sexo do julgador, educa??o formal em Direito, e decis?o penal: O caso do processo-crime de viola??o frustrada envolvendo assimetria de estatuto
Sousa,E.;
Análise Psicológica , 1997,
Abstract: this paper deals with knowledge, university law training and gender. it inspects legal and extra-legal variables in the case of a female rape-crime case involving assymetric social membership of both the victim and the offender. after reviewing recent literature on psychology, we hypothezised divergent perspectives as a function of gender, and of the configuration of membership of social groups of both the intervenients, as well as similar perspectives as a function of formal education (1st and 5th year of the university) in terms of representational complexity, inference and decision, be it legal components of the case, law-relevant and irrelevant inference itens or penal decisions in terms of both verdict and penalty. the results of multivariate analyses of variance revealed the importance of both the legal and the ex-tra-legal variables on the legal framing of the crime-case and inference. law training, which did neither have a significant effect on penalty nor on representational complexity, presented a significant effect on the legal components of the case, and produced less extreme irrelevant knowledge. also, judge's gender affected the legal components of the case, namely the perceived contribution of the victim, and penalty. females were slightly harsher. finally, the configuration of assymetric social membership of both the victim and the offender affected the legal framing of the case. results are discussed in terms of psychology, social justice and law considerations on rape.
Investiga??o em psicoterapia: contexto, quest?es e controvérsias Possíveis contributos da perspectiva fenomenológico existencial
Sousa,Daniel;
Análise Psicológica , 2006,
Abstract: a summary of the most recent data regarding research on therapy is carried out including those relating to existential framework. a number of controversies, which are present in the psychotherapeutics community, are dealt with leading to a hiatus between therapists and researchers. the importance of the paradigm "change process research" is suggested for the development of research that allows for better information on procedures, which foster therapeutics change as well as inform the different agents involved: patients, therapists, supervisors, and people in charge of services of mental health. the need to increase a greater number of psychotherapeutics research programmes in portugal has been underlined.
O mundo do texto e a psicoterapia fenomenológico-existencial
Sousa,Daniel;
Análise Psicológica , 2004,
Abstract: hermeneutical phenomenology as put forward by paul ricoeur is subject to analysis, mainly when it comes to its heideggerian roots and the notion of the world of text. the therapist is therefore confronted with two problems: moving away from the dialogue model and refusal of hermeneutics to accept a psychology of the subject. the textual paradigm is then compared with human action thus encompassing a response to the problem posed by explanation versus understanding. the author?s contributions are compared against jerome bruner?s cultural psychology and psychotherapy, namely against existential-phenomenological approaches.

Partir, evadir-se, tra ar uma linha: Deleuze e a literatura = To leave, to evade, to trace a line: deleuze and the literature
Dias, Sousa
Educa??o , 2007,
