Abstract: The manuscript reviews the history and quo of the theory of Timoshenko’s method in stability analysis of compressive levers first, taking an example to explain the m-simulation method and putting forward the 3rd-7th boundary conditions demonstrating their superiorities in improving the precision through examples, followed by proposing and applying the join conditions in the stability analysis of combined axial force compressive levers gaining success. Through a brief example showing the effect of some related theories in a simple structural stability analysis, its application prospect is discussed.

After verifying the superiority of the method through examples, the broad application prospect would be given in the end.

Abstract: Based on the traditional Human-Computer Interaction method which is mainly touch input system, the way of capturing the movement of people by using cameras is proposed. This is a convenient technique which can provide users more experience. In the article, a new way of detecting moving things is given on the basis of development of the image processing technique. The system architecture decides that the communication should be used between two different applications. After considered, named pipe is selected from many ways of communication to make sure that video is keeping in step with the movement from the analysis of the people moving. According to a large amount of data and principal knowledge, thinking of the need of actual project, a detailed system design and realization is finished. The system consists of three important modules: detecting of the people's movement, information transition between applications and video showing in step with people's movement. The article introduces the idea of each module and technique.
The effects of an imperfect vaccine on cholera control  [PDF]

In this paper, we consider a SVIR-B cholera model with imperfect vaccination. By analyzing the corresponding characteristic equations, the local asymptotically stability of a disease-free equilibrium and an endemic equilibrium is established. We calculate the certain threshold known as the basic reproduction number Rv. If Rv < 1, we obtain sufficient conditions for the global asymptotically stability of the disease- free equilibrium, the diseases will be eliminated from the community. By comparison arguments, it is proved that if Rv > 1, the unique endemic equilibrium is local asymptotically stable. We perform sensitivity analysis of Rv on the parameters in order to determine their relative importance to disease control and show that an imperfect vaccine is always beneficial in reducing disease spread within the community.

Genome Wide Analysis of Nucleotide-Binding Site Disease Resistance Genes in Brachypodium distachyon

Abstract: Nucleotide-binding site (NBS) disease resistance genes play an important role in defending plants from a variety of pathogens and insect pests. Many R-genes have been identified in various plant species. However, little is known about the NBS-encoding genes in Brachypodium distachyon. In this study, using computational analysis of the B. distachyon genome, we identified 126 regular NBS-encoding genes and characterized them on the bases of structural diversity, conserved protein motifs, chromosomal locations, gene duplications, promoter region, and phylogenetic relationships. EST hits and full-length cDNA sequences (from Brachypodium database) of 126 R-like candidates supported their existence. Based on the occurrence of conserved protein motifs such as coiled-coil (CC), NBS, leucine-rich repeat (LRR), these regular NBS-LRR genes were classified into four subgroups: CC-NBS-LRR, NBS-LRR, CC-NBS, and X-NBS. Further expression analysis of the regular NBS-encoding genes in Brachypodium database revealed that these genes are expressed in a wide range of libraries, including those constructed from various developmental stages, tissue types, and drought challenged or nonchallenged tissue.
Preferential regulation of miRNA targets by environmental chemicals in the human genome

Abstract: In this study, we comprehensively analyzed the properties of genes regulated by ECs (EC-genes) and found miRNA targets were significantly enriched among the EC-genes. Compared with the non-miRNA-targets, miRNA targets were roughly twice as likely to be EC-genes. By investigating the collection methods and other properties of the EC-genes, we demonstrated that the enrichment of miRNA targets was not attributed to either the potential collection bias of EC-genes, the presence of paralogs, longer 3'UTRs or more conserved 3'UTRs. Finally, we identified 1,842 significant concurrent interactions between 407 miRNAs and 497 ECs. This association network of miRNAs-ECs was highly modular and could be separated into 14 interconnected modules. In each module, miRNAs and ECs were closely connected, providing a good method to design accurate miRNA markers for ECs in toxicology research.Our analyses indicated that miRNAs and their targets played important roles in cellular responses to ECs. Association analyses of miRNAs and ECs will help to broaden the understanding of the pathogenesis of such chemical components.miRNAs are a class of small non-coding RNAs, which act through binding in a sequence-specific manner to the 3'UTR of target genes [1]. With a very short recognition sequence (~8bp), each miRNA can potentially regulate hundreds of transcripts. At least one-third of human genes are estimated to be miRNA targets, so the regulation mediated by miRNA at the post-transcriptional level is pervasive in animals [2]. Transcriptomic studies suggest that miRNAs can regulate the expression and stability of targets [3-6]. miRNAs also provide a genetic buffer to constrain the variation of their targets' expression, playing an important role in regulating embryo development and maintaining the identity of mature tissues [7]. In such context, China’s opening in the insurance industry will attract a large amount of foreign fund, which involves both developing opportunities and severe challenges. In order to lighten the impact of foreign funds, we have to adopt relevant measures. For example, we can create a favorable developing environment for national insurance industry by regulating the insurance law system and supervising system. We can cultivate a mature insurance market by innovation. We can increase the insurance investment and financing to speed up the company listing procedure. And we can explore the human resources and adopt a talent strategy.
Uniform Information Service Interoperation Framework among Heterogeneous Grids

Abstract: Currently there is no practical standard for grid middleware, most of the grid platforms are built by their own, and it’s not easy to interoperate these grid platforms. Information service is one of the key components of the service oriented grid system, and information service interoperation among heterogeneous grids is the first step towards grid interoperation. Existing grid interoperability projects mainly focus on immediate bridge mechanisms, which is intricate and of poor scalability. To address the issues, a uniform information service interoperation framework (UISIF) is proposed in the paper, which is based on the idea of mediated bridge mechanisms, and adopts virtual layer and plug-in technology. There are two well-established grid systems in China, ChinaGrid and China National Grid, and they are built with two different grid middleware, CGSP and VEGA. With UISIF, these two grid systems make information service interoperation a reality without changing the codes of current grid systems. The experiments also show that the information service interoperation has low information querying latency and high accuracy; Moreover, UISIF has good scalability based on hierarchical architecture, virtual layer and plug-in technology.

Computer Simulation of Leadership, Consensus Decision Making and Collective Behaviour in Humans

Abstract: The aim of this study is to evaluate the reliability of a crowd simulation model developed by the authors by reproducing Dyer et al.'s experiments (published in Philosophical Transactions in 2009) on human leadership and consensus decision making in a computer-based environment. The theoretical crowd model of the simulation environment is presented, and its results are compared and analysed against Dyer et al.'s original experiments. It is concluded that the simulation results are largely consistent with the experiments, which demonstrates the reliability of the crowd model. Furthermore, the simulation data also reveals several additional new findings, namely: 1) the phenomena of sacrificing accuracy to reach a quicker consensus decision found in ants colonies was also discovered in the simulation; 2) the ability of reaching consensus in groups has a direct impact on the time and accuracy of arriving at the target position; 3) the positions of the informed individuals or leaders in the crowd could have significant impact on the overall crowd movement; and 4) the simulation also confirmed Dyer et al.'s anecdotal evidence of the proportion of the leadership in large crowds and its effect on crowd movement. The potential applications of these findings are highlighted in the final discussion of this paper.
