On the ruin problem in the renewal risk processes perturbed by diffusion

Abstract: In this paper, we consider the perturbed renewal risk process. Systems of integro-differential equations for the Gerber-Shiu functions at ruin caused by a claim and oscillation are established, respectively. The explicit Laplase transforms of Gerber-Shiu functions are obtained, while the closed form expressions for the Gerber-Shiu functions are derived when the claim amount distribution is from the rational family. Finally, we present numerical examples intended to illustrate the main results.

Abstract:
A new method combining QuEChERS (quick, easy, cheap, effective, rugged and safe) and DLLME (dispersive liquid–liquid microextraction) for the simultaneous determination of residues of ten sulfonylurea herbicide in water using UPLC-MS/MS was developed and validated. Analytes were extracted and purified with QuEChERS and concentrated in chlorobenzene by applying the DLLME procedure. Several extraction parameters were tested, such as volume, extractive solvent by the QuEChERS method and subsequently used for DLLME, selection of extractive solvent and its volume, was tested. The developed method was validated on the basis of international guidelines. Mean recoveries ranged from 81.2 to 104.9%. Repeatability and reproducibility were lower than 10%. Limits of detection (LODs) and quantification (LOQs) were below 0.074 μg/L and 0.244 μg/L, respectively. Decision limit (CCα) and detection capability (CCβ) were calculated and CCβ ranged from 0.101 μg/L (pyrazosulfuron-ethyl) to 0.260 μg/L (nicosulfuron). Finally, when the method was applied to real samples, traces of three compounds were found in 42 samples and only thifensulfuon-methyl was detected above the LOQ in three samples at 0.17-0.20 μg/L.

Abstract: Exposure of the mitral valve is of critical importance in mitral valve surgery. The mitral valve is located near the interatrial groove. As we accumulated experience and learned from embryology, we found that a more central left atriotomy was advantageous, and was made possible by interatrial groove dissection using an ultrasonic scalpel. This crucial finding prompted us to report the technique.
Reappraisal of Importance of the Left Internal Mammary Artery to the Left Anterior Descending Artery in Improving Mid-Term Outcome in Patients with Severe Left Ventricular Dysfunction

Abstract: We sought to investigate the effects of the left internal mammary artery anastomosed to the left anterior descending artery for improving mid-term outcome in patients with severe left ventricular dysfunction. Twenty consecutive coronary artery bypass grafts performed by a single surgeon for less than 35% ejection fraction patients were reviewed retrospectively from April 2000 to November 2008. There was one perioperative death (5.0% mortality). The mean survival was 55 months with an actual 5-year survival rate of 75%. Echocardiography showed the ejection fraction improved to 10.7±0.32% (p < 0.01). The strongest correlation was observed between both the flow and the pulsatile index of the left internal mammary artery measured intraoperatively by transit time flow meter and the postoperative ejection fraction improvement (R2=0.737 and 0.639, respectively). We reappraised the mid-term beneficial effects of the internal mammary artery anastomosed to the left anterior descending artery in patients with severe left ventricular function.
Synthesis and Physical Properties of Ruddlesden-Popper Phase Sr3Mn2-xFexO7-d (x = 0.15 ~ 1.0)

Abstract: Double layer R-P manganate phases Sr3Mn2O7-d were stabilized by partial substitution of Mn with Fe in air atmosphere. The minimum amount of Fe needed to stabilize single phase of R-P in air atmosphere was about x = 0.15. As the Fe content x increased, the optimum reaction temperatures were lowered from 1530°C for x = 0.15 sample to 1400°C for x = 1.0 sample. The structural parameters were refined on the basis of space group I4/mmm by Rietveld method with powder X-ray diffraction data. Magnetic susceptibility data indicate that these samples have very complicate magnetic properties. It also shows spin-glass like transitions at low temperatures when x was larger than 0.5.
Rate-Based Active Queue Management for TCP Flows over Wired and Wireless Networks

Abstract: Current active queue management (AQM) and TCP protocol are designed and tuned to work well on wired networks where packet loss is mainly due to network congestion. In wireless networks, however, communication links suffer from significant transmission bit errors and handoff failures. As a result, the performance of TCP flows is significantly degraded. To mitigate this problem, we analyze existing AQM schemes and propose a rate-based exponential AQM (REAQM) scheme. The proposed REAQM scheme uses the input rate as a primary metric and queue length as the secondary metric. The objectives of REAQM are to stabilize networks with low packet loss, low packet delay, and high link utilization regardless the dynamic of network conditions. We prove the global asymptotic stability of the equilibrium based on Lyapunov theory. Simulation results suggest that REAQM is capable of performing well for TCP flows over both wired and wireless networks, and has comparable implementation complexity as other AQM schemes.

Abstract:

CAPTCHA is a completely automated program designed to distinguish whether the user is a computer or human. As the problems of Internet security are worsening, it is of great significance to do research on CAPTCHA. This article starts from the recognition of CAPTCHAs, then analyses the weaknesses in its design and gives corresponding recognition proposals according to various weaknesses, finally offers suggestions related to the improvement of CAPTCHAs. Firstly, this article briefly introduces the basic steps during the decoding process and their principles. And during each step we choose methods which are better adapted to the features of different CAPTCHA images. Methods chosen are as followings: bimodal method in binarization, improved corrosion algorithm in denoising, projection segmentation method in denoised image processing and SVM in recognition. Then, we demonstrate detailed process through the samples taken from the online registration system of ICBC, show the recognition effect and correct the results according to the statistical data in the process. This article decodes CAPTCHAS from three other large banks in the same way but just provides the recognition results. Finally, this article offers targeted suggestions to the four banks based on the recognition effect and analysis process stated above.

Abstract: The evolutions of texture, microstructure as well as mechanical properties of an Al-Mg-Si-Cu alloy during hot and cold rolling were investigated by TEM, EBSD and X-ray diffraction in this study. The results revealed that formation of sub-grain boundaries and <110>//RD fiber texture after hot rolling is beneficial to the increase of the elongation of the alloy. The shear texture of <110>//RD fiber and γ-fiber occupies a dominant role during the hot rolling process, while the main texture during the cold rolling process is the rolling texture of β-fiber. β-fiber and τ-fiber texture components are identified as two main types of texture components during cold rolling, and the Brass component {011}<211> is transformed into Goss component {011}<100> with the increase of the deformation.

Abstract: Optical vortex has attracted much interest re-cently due to its novel properties and applica-tions. In this paper, the focusing properties of Gaussian beam containing one non-spiral opti-cal vortex are investigated by means of scalar diffraction theory. Simulation results show that topological charge of non-spiral optical vortex affects optical intensity distribution in focal re-gion considerably, and non-spiral focal pattern may also occur. Multiple intensity peaks may appear companying with center main focal spot under condition of higher topological charge. In addition, the number of weak intensity peak outside of the center main intensity peak is re-lated to the value of topological charge.
