Effects of Indole-3-butyric Acid on the Rooting Ability of Semi-hardwood Bougainvillea sp. Cuttings

Abstract: The experiment was carried out to investigate the effect of different concentration of Indole-3-butyric acid (IBA) on the rooting ability of semi-hardwood Bougainvillea flower. The treatments were control (without IBA), 2000, 3000 and 4000 ppm IBA. The cuttings were treated with IBA solution for 7 seconds and immediately transferred to the rooting medium. Perlite was used as a rooting substrate. Treatment was evaluated in a completely randomized design (CRD) with 3 replications. According to the obtained results, there was no significant difference between IBA treatment and control on rooting percentage. The best effect of different levels of IBA on the number of root (8.67 roots per plant) was obtained at 2000 ppm IBA. The highest root length (151.42 mm) was observed at control and there was no significant difference between control and 2000, 4000 ppm IBA. It can be concluded that using perlite as a rooting substrate without using IBA (control) affected rooting ability in bougainvillea flower.
The Moderating Effect of Occupation on the Relationship between Anger and Mental Health among Extroverted and Introverted Women  [PDF]

Abstract: This study intends to investigate the moderating effect of occupation on the associations between anger and mental health between introverted and extroverted women. Available sampling was used for collecting the data. Sample consisted of 384 women including 192 employed women and 192 housewives women (Mean age = 31.63). A self-administered questionnaire was prepared for the participants. Instruments in the present study included general health questionnaire (GHQ- 28), aggression as well as the scale that assessed respondents’ introversion and extroversion. Results showed that aggression negatively related to mental health. In contrast, there was positive relation-ship between control wrath and mental health. Meaningly, women with high level of conciliation tended to possess high mental health. Furthermore, occupation didn’t play the moderating role in the associations between anger and mental health between introverted and extroverted women.
Recycling of End of Life Concrete Fines into Hardened Cement and Clean Sand  [PDF]

Abstract:

One of the massive by-products of concrete to concrete recycling is the crushed concrete fines, that is often 0 - 4mm. Although the construction sector is to some extent familiar with the utilization of the recycled coarse fraction (>4 mm), at present there is no high-quality application for fines due to its moisturized and contaminated nature. Here we present an effective recycling process on lab scale to separate the cementitious powder from the sandy part in the crushed concrete fines and deliver attractive products with the minimum amount of contaminants. For this study, a lab scale Heating-Air classification system was designed and constructed. A combination of heat and air classification, resulted in a proper separation of finer fraction (0 - 0.250 mm), from coarser fractions. Heating of the materials was followed by ball milling to enhance the liberation of the cementitious fraction. Experiments were carried out at different heating temperatures and milling durations. Experimental results show that by heating the materials to 500 for 30 seconds, the required time of ball milling is diminished by a factor of three and the quality of the recycling products satisfies well the market demand. In addition, the removal of contaminants is complete at 500. The amount of CaO in the recovered finer fraction from the recycling process is comparable with the amount of CaO in low-quality limestone. By using this fraction in the cement kiln as the replacement of limestone, the release of the chemically bound CO2 could be reduced by a factor of three.

Abstract: Megaloblastic anemias are a group of hematologic disorders in which abnormal DNA synthesis causes blood and bone marrow disorders. This type of anemias occurs as a result of folic acid deficiency or impaired vitamin B12 absorption. The prevalence of this type of anemia is highly variable worldwide and megaloblastic anemia caused by lack of vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin) is rare during pregnancy [1]. In this case report, we report follow-ups conducted for a pregnant 33-year-old woman, G2, P1, with a history of previous natural childbirth who attended Kamali Hospital due to labor pain associated with severe thrombocytopenia. Although this woman was injected 10 units of PLT and also vitamin B12 (cyanocobalamin), folic acid and corticosteroids in the course of treatment, her platelet level has not yet returned to normal levels after 6 months and she is still being treated.

Abstract: Menopause is one of the natural stages of life of women that is associated with instability of vasomotor, flushing, sweating, anxiety and depression, urogenital atrophy and urinary problems. The age range of physiological event is between 48 - 55 years old. With regard to the role of genetics, nutrition and geographical conditions of the age of menopause in Iranian women is lower than and among 46 - 53 years. With the increase in life expectancy in recent decades, duration of menopause is increased and almost involved a third of the life of women so special issues of this era have had more attention. Since menopause is not the end of the life of a woman and keep her physical and mental health and problems resulting from the process of menopause such as urinary problems and incontinence will lead to improve the quality of life in this period. Many studies have tried to find a therapy for postmenopausal women with stress urinary incontinence using hormone. So this article seeks to examine the effect of conjugated estrogen in stress urinary incontinence of menopausal women with using the library method. The survey showed that by starting menopause, decreasing estrogen causes atrophy of mucosa of urogenital and the lining of the urethra and bladder, estrogen causes to maintain muscle tonicity. Also sacral nerves are also rich in estrogen receptors and by estrogen deficiency, elasticity of the urinary system decreases. Estrogen deficiency causes excitability of nerves and frequency of urine. So estrogen can increase the resistance of the urethra, bladder sensory threshold and sensitivity in Adorno in smooth muscles of the urethra and the rest of detrusor.

Abstract:
Nanoparticles are playing an increasingly important role in the development of biosensors. The sensitivity and performance of biosensors are being improved by using Nanoparticles for their construction. The use of these Nanoparticles has allowed the introduction of many new signal transduction technologies in biosensors. In this report, a comprehensive review of application of nanoparticles in Quartz Crystal Microbalance biosensors is presented. The main advantages of QCM in sensing fields include high sensitivity, high stability, fast response and low cost. In addition, it provides label-free detection capability for bio-sensing applications. Firstly, basic QCM’s design and characterization are described. Next, QCM biosensors based on modification of quartz substrate structure and their applications are digested. Nanoparticles and their utilizationin analysis are then illustrated. These include Nanoparticles in bio applications that cover Nanoparticles in Quartz Crystal Microbalance biosensors.
The Effect of Teaching Vocabulary through Semantic Mapping on EFL Learners’ Awareness of the Affective Dimensions of Deep Vocabulary Knowledge

Abstract: This study focused on the effect of teaching vocabulary through semantic mapping on the awareness of two affective dimensions, evaluation and potency dimensions of deep vocabulary knowledge as well as the general vocabulary knowledge of EFL students. Sixty intermediate EFL female adult learners participated in this study; they were chosen among 90 students through Prelemenary English test and a general vocabulary knowledge test. They were thus randomly divided into two group, experimental and control, each consisting of 30 students. As for the treatment, modifiers describing peoples’ characteristics were taught in the text and through semantic mapping, whereas these words were taught by usual vocabulary instruction in control group. At the end, students took a vocabulary achievement test and a test of awareness of evaluation and potency dimensions of deep vocabulary knowledge. A t-test was run to analyze the data from the vocabulary achievement test. Results showed that teaching collocations has great influence on the students` general vocabulary knowledge. To see if the independent variable had significant effects on awareness of evaluation and potency dimensions of deep vocabulary knowledge, a MANOVA was run revealing that teaching vocabularies through semantic mapping significantly improved learners` awareness of the two dimensions.
Homological invariants of the Stanley-Reisner ring of a $k$-decomposable simplicial complex

Abstract: We study the regularity and the projective dimension of the Stanley-Reisner ring of a $k$-decomposable simplicial complex and explain these invariants with a recursive formula. To this aim, the graded Betti numbers of $k$-decomposable monomial ideals which is the dual concept for $k$-decomposable simplicial complexes are studied and an inductive formula for the Betti numbers is given. As a corollary, for a chordal clutter $\mathcal{H}$, an upper bound for $reg(I(\mathcal{H}))$ is given in terms of the regularities of edge ideals of some chordal clutters which are minors of $\mathcal{H}$.

Abstract: One of the best ways for better understanding of biological experiments is mathematical modeling. Modeling cancer is one of the complicated biological modeling that has uncertainty. Therefore, fuzzy models have studied because of their application in achievement uncertainty in modeling. Overall, the main purpose of this modeling is creating a new view of complex phenomena. In this paper, fuzzy differential equation model consisting of tumor, the immune system and normal cells has been studied. Model derived from a classical model DePillis in 2003, which some parameters from a clinical point of view can be described in the region. In this model, by considering fuzzy parameters from clinical point of view, the three-dimensional fuzzy tumor cells in terms of time and membership function are pictured and region of uncertainties are determined. To access the uncertainty area we use fuzzy differential inclusion method that is one of the including methods of solving differential equations. Also, different initial conditions on the model are inserted and the results of them are analyzed because tumor has different treatment in different initial conditions. Results show that fuzzy models in the best way justify what happens in the reality.
Preparation and Optical Properties Assessment of CdSe Quantum Dots  [PDF]

Abstract:

CdSe quantum dots (QDs) (2 - 3 nm) were synthesized by chemical precipitation method. Optical and structure properties of the products were investigated by scanning tunneling microscope (STM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and ultra violet-visible (UV-Vis) spectrophotometer. The results show that high-quality cubic CdSe QDs were obtained. It is also obtained that temperature is one of the most important factors the affect on the particle size and optical properties of the prepared QDs samples.
