Abstract: this text constitutes of an analysis of two theoretical categories considered fundamental for an understanding reading of vigotski's work: the social and the cultural. the text begins with the 1929 manuscript, where the author outlines these questions, object of a latter elaboration. the meaning analysis that these categories have for vigotski is done through the history concept proposed by the author, which shows the matrix that is the reference from his analyses: the historical materialism and dialectics. analysed these two categories, two questions are discussed after them and that constitutes the central nucleus of the author's work: the social-cultural nature of the high mental functions which according to the author, they are social relationships internalized, and the semiotic mechanism that explains these social relations conversion in functions of the person.

Abstract: Este texto constitui um ensaio de análise de duas categorias teóricas consideradas fundamentais para uma leitura compreensiva da obra de Vigotski : o social e o cultural. O texto toma como ponto de partida o Manuscrito de 1929, onde o autor esbo a essas quest es, objeto de uma elabora o posterior. A análise do significado que essas categorias têm para Vigotski é feita por meio do conceito de história proposto pelo autor, o qual revela a matriz que lhe serve de referência das suas análises: o materialismo histórico e dialético. Analisadas essas duas categorias, s o discutidas duas quest es decorrentes delas e que constituem o núcleo central da obra do autor: a natureza social-cultural das fun es mentais superiores que, segundo o autor, s o rela es sociais internalizadas, e o mecanismo semiótico que explica a convers o dessas rela es sociais em fun es da pessoa.

Abstract: this paper evokes the memory of the british naturalist and scientist, charles darwin on his 200th birthday. the best way to do so is to invite our readers to reflect on some ideas of three books of his: the origin of species (1859), descent of man (1871) and the expression of emotions in man and animals (1872). after presenting the importance and appropriateness of darwin in the contemporaneous debate, the text rapidly explores the historical precedents of the so called "theory of evolution" and the reactions to it. it then situates darwin's works in its historical context and presents a brief history of these three books and an analysis of their main ideas. as a conclusion, it summarizes how darwin's ideas question contemporary science and, more particularly, the reflection in the field of education.

Abstract: a daily topic in the brazilian press, violence has become a constant concern for brazilians. rich in violent events, both brazilian and international histories clearly show this phenomenon is neither new nor exclusive to brazil. novelty lies in the uncommon and daring forms it nowadays takes on in this country. this paper explores some of the most important ones the first one regards the conceptual aspects and shows the different meanings that define violence, crime and transgression; the violence-rationality relation is also discussed. the second one approaches the issue of the relation between violence and the historical, social, economical and political conditions of society. the last one discusses the role of education in general and of school education in particular to prepare the new generations to a kind of social relationships that makes violence unnecessary

Abstract: the purpose of this paper is to analyze the v ygotsk y's concept of environment in the problem of the environment in paedology, where he argues that paedology does not study the environment itself, since that is the object of other sciences . the interest of the paedology is to investigate the role and the influence of the environment on child development. in this statement, there is some apparent ambiguity which does to be enlighted. the question is: how can the paedology understand the role the environment plays in the development of the child and not know what environment is? explain this apparent paradox is the scope of this text.

Abstract: Our reflection focuses on the moral work titled Formula Vitae Honestae. Therefore, we interpret this work which deals with the four cardinal virtues, as the work of a monk, a Christian who tries to give advices / rules, in a ethical point of view. His mentor is Seneca. At the same time, we shall show how the policy can be found there, being understood as a mirror of kings. Abstract: Science is content expressed as knowledge, and art are practical habits and skills of the medical profession. Medical diagnosis that beginners perceive as intuitive deductions, comparable to a detective’s task, are just the result of a reasoning process that mixes both, learning and experience. The medical record is the core document and a key weapon for the diagnosis of a disease. It is a compilation of valuable data for doctors and nurses that allows the establishment of diagnostic hypothesis and is also a source for analysis by other physicians. The authors dedicate this manual primarily to students as a practical guide for making a medical record. La ciencia es el contenido expresado en conocimientos, y el arte la forma manifestada en hábitos y habilidades, inherentes a la profesión médica. Las aseveraciones diagnósticas de un médico, que para el principiante se erigen como deducciones intuitivas, comparables a la actuación de un detective, no son más que el resultado de un proceso de razonamiento, en el cual están imbricados el aprendizaje y la experiencia. La historia clínica es el documento básico y el arma fundamental para el diagnóstico de las enfermedades. Constituye una recopilación de datos valiosos por el personal médico y de enfermería que permiten establecer hipótesis diagnósticas y sirven como fuente para el análisis por otros facultativos. Los autores dedican el presente manual, fundamentalmente a los estudiantes como una guía práctica para la confección de la historia clínica.
