A Independência Pendente – No bicentenário das independências de Hispano América
Silvia Beatriz Adoue

Food and Nutrition Sciences (FNS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/fns.2017.89062
Abstract: In Mexico maize (Zea mays L.) is an important cereal due to excellent taste and nutritional value. Nutritional content and fatty acid profile has been reported in white maize, however, there are several genotypes natives (red, yellow, black, blue, pinto), and many improved hybrids maize of which little is known. Fumonisins and aflatoxins are mycotoxins present in 25% of the world’s cereals, mainly in tropical and subtropical regions around the world. This study presents the analysis of proximate composition (ash, protein, lipids), as well as mycotoxins (fumonisins and aflatoxins) and five different fatty acids, two of saturated fatty acids (palmitic and stearic) and three of polyunsaturated fatty acids (oleic, linoleic and linolenic), evaluated by Gas Chromatography and Flame Detector (GC-DF). Thirty varieties of maize (native and hybrid maize) were collected in states of central region. The total fumonisins were determined using the QuickTox TM extraction and quantificated by QuickScan fumonisins; the aflatoxins were analyzed by commercial ELISA kit. The highest protein level was 10.43 g/100g, 5.63 g/100g for fat, 1.62 g/100g for ash in hybrid maize. In native maize, the highest levels of protein and ash were 10.94 g/100g and 1.45 g/100g for pinto maize. The higher value for fat was 5.45 g/100g in yellow maize. The palmitic and stearic acids, in native maize were higher that hybrid maize, for linoleic acid and linoleinic fatty with a significant difference between native corn. Fumonisins and aflatoxins were contaminated in all genotypes of maize, in allow levels. This information obtained may be considered in maize breeding programs, industrialization processes and healthy diets.

International Journal of Morphology , 2007, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-95022007000300021
Abstract: the morphology and relative size of the tympanic bulla of three species of dasypodids from argentina, chaetophractus villosus, c. vellerosus and zaedyus pichiy, were studied. the bulla was observed to be morphologically similar and evidently hypertrophied in the three species. the degree of hypertrophy was higher in c. vellerosus and c. villosus than in z pichiy. by means of ancova it was clear that, although c. villosus has a bigger skull than c. vellerosus, the relative size of their tympanic cavity was similar in both species. on the other hand, the skull of c. vellerosus and z pichiy are of similar size but the bulla was relatively shorter in the later

International Journal of Morphology , 2006, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-95022006000500004
Abstract: the morphology and morphometry of the cranial bones of chaetophractus villosus were studied. the skull components are morphologically similar between adults of both sexes, and follow the generalized pattern for most of described dasypodids. the morphometric analysis, however, demonstrated that the bones lying in the rostrocaudal plane are mostly longest in females, determining higher values of the total, basal and condilobasal lengths of the skull, which are the main variables that contribute to a sexual dimorphism in this species

Abstract: the inclusion of new assays to be made: troponin i, creatine kinase fraction mb mass (ck-mb mass) and myoglobin, leads a laboratory to verify the reference intervals (ri) provided by the manufacturer. otherwise, these intervals must be created for an accurate interpretation of the results, so that they can be compared with a reliable reference interval. on account of this hypothesis, 247 serum samples of blood-donors were taken in order to make the estimates of percentiles 0.5 and 99.5 to obtain the ri of the 99% of troponin; and 2.5 and 97.5 to obtain the ri of the 95% of myoglobin and ck-mb mass (non parametric method). the ri was verified in troponin; the other two intervals (ck-mb mass and myoglobin) had to be created. in ck-mb mass, the obtained ri was 0.5-4.4 ng/ml, (ri reported by manufacturer: 0.6 -6.3 ng/ml). in myoglobin, the obtained ri for women was 8.3-40.3 ng/ml (ri reported by manufacturer: 14.3-65.8 ng/ml); for men it was 11.5-56.5 ng/ml (ri reported by manufacturer: 17.4-105.7 ng/ml). each laboratory must set up its own ri to guarantee the appropriate representation of specific groups of people and types of samples.

The inclusion of new assays to be made: troponin I, creatine kinase fraction MB mass (CK-MB mass) and myoglobin, leads a laboratory to verify the reference intervals (RI) provided by the manufacturer.
