Glasnik Srpskog Geografskog Dru?tva , 2012, DOI: 10.2298/gsgd1202111s
Abstract: Socio-economic development of the Belgrade region significantly affects the direction of the change of planting areas use. The increase in urban areas has adversely affected the direction of agricultural land use. Dynamics of change is significantly due to high production costs (high land prices and expensive labor force) gives rise to the high price of the product on the market, there is a constant "pressure" of urban areas to arable land, increasing the risk of "loss" of agricultural holdings; increased environmental pollution due to the concentration of industrial plants or road construction. The aim of this study was to investigate the characteristics of structural changes in sowing area in the period from 1991 to 2011. [Projekat Ministarstva nauke Republike Srbije, br. 176017]

Glasnik Srpskog Geografskog Dru?tva , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/gsgd1001333s
Abstract: Spa tourism is not adequately treated in the development strategies of Knja evac. Much more attention is given to the development of tourism in the mountain Stara Planina, as idea that rural tourism could become an important source of income for the population of this area. Thermal water sources, only five kilometers away from Knja evac, have not been used for tourist purposes. The goal of this paper is to analyze the potential of Rgo ka spa for tourism development in this region, with emphasis on experiences from Europe. .

Glasnik Srpskog Geografskog Dru?tva , 2012, DOI: 10.2298/gsgd1203069j
Abstract: Raising awareness in expert circles and the general public about the heterogeneity of effects caused by tourism (economic, social, cultural, ecological), imposed the need for organized guidance of development of this activity and its placement under the framework of public (government) policy. Accordingly, today in almost all developed tourist countries are being used different instruments to control the development of this complex phenomenon of the modern age. In this paper, special attention is paid to the analysis of the role, importance, models, processes of development and implementation of tourism policy, in the context of the general policy and other sectoral policies brought by governments in developed tourist countries and countries trying to become such. Tourism policy today is the starting point of the thinking process in the tourism industry. It is focused on directing the development of tourism at all levels (international, national, regional, local), that is, it must create a long-term and integral development perspective.

Glasnik Srpskog Geografskog Dru?tva , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/gsgd1002209m
Abstract: In this paper we present an analysis of the impact of an intensive process of building rest and recreation houses and the establishment of settlements in the Si eva ka gorge, Serbia, from the 1960s to the beginning of the 20th, century. The analysis is based on field research conducted in 2001/2002nd, as well as official statistical data. In this paper, settlements are defined by their spatial distribution, characteristics of the local position within the existing territory (Atari), and basic trends in development and advanced geospatial changes. Special attention is devoted to the consideration of how the density of temporary settlements (weekend) has impacted the permanent (continuous) population as well as the territorial and population development of existing rural settlements. .
Modelling the benchmark spot curve for the Serbian
Drenovak Mikica,Uro?evi? Branko
Economic Annals , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/eka1084029d
Abstract: The objective of this paper is to estimate Serbian benchmark spot curves using the Svensson parametric model. The main challenges that we tackle are: sparse data, different currency denominations of short and longer term maturities, and infrequent transactions in the short-term market segment vs daily traded medium and long-term market segment. We find that the model is flexible enough to account for most of the data variability. The model parameters are interpreted in economic terms.
Exchange-traded funds of the eurozone sovereign debt
Drenovak Mikica,Uro?evi? Branko
Economic Annals , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/eka1087031d
Abstract: Periods of high uncertainty bring liquidity concerns to the forefront for sovereign bond investors. Arguably the most liquid and cost-effective way for retail and small institutional investors to gain diversified sovereign bond exposure is through an exchange traded fund (ETF). In this paper we study the performance, country exposure, and replicating characteristics of a sample of 31 European index ETFs with exposure to eurozone sovereign debt. The obtained results are presented in the context of underlying index selection rules, types of replication, and movements in sovereign debt interest rates and sovereign CDS spreads. It is demonstrated that the ETFs focused on accurately track corresponding bond indices. This is consistent with earlier findings for equity index ETFs. Our results may be of interest for institutional investors, regulators, and everyone interested in sovereign debt investments.
The new experimental design of arterialized venous flap on the rabbit ear model

Acta Veterinaria , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/avb1006633l
Abstract: The aim of this study was to test a new experimental design of venous system arterialization on the rabbit ear arterialized venous flap (AVF) model. Total number of 10 "Big Chinchila" rabbits were divided in two experimental groups. On both ears of the five rabbits (Group 1) we have performed our original method of venous system arterialization with microsurgical arterialization of the central artery and vein with the preservation of central and peripheral vascular perfusion; at both ears of five rabbits (Group 2) we have performed AVF according to Byan et al., (1995). Vital AVF surface and necrosis percentage were determined in both experimental groups at day 1 and day 14 and results were compared using Student t-test. The results of our experiment indicate that our new experimental design of the AVF on rabbit ear model has better hemodynamic conditions, improves AVF survival and gives significantly bigger vital flap surface at 14 days after venous system arterialization.
Ultrasonographic findings validity in the identification of metastatic regional lymph nodes in patients with cutaneous melanoma

Vojnosanitetski Pregled , 2010, DOI: 10.2298/vsp1001025s
Abstract: Background/Aim. Early identification of lymph node (LN) metastases has both therapeutic and prognostic significance in patients with cutaneous melanoma. Ultrasonographic (US) examination of LN morphological characteristics and US of LN morphological and vascular characteristics are diagnostic methods used in identification of regional LN metastases, thus rendering a base for lymphonododisection indication. The aim of this study was to determine validity of these two US diagnostic methods and eventual statistically significant difference between them. Methods. The study included the two groups of the patients with clinical stage III melanoma. The group I included 31 patients followed up by the use of US of LN morphological characteristics due to the fact that US findings described them only. The group II included 30 patients in whom morphological and vascular LN characteristics were followed up. The patients of both groups were examined in the Institute for Radiology, Military Medical Academy using an ultrasonographic unit type Akuson Sequoia Model 2000. After that, therapeutic and elective radical disections were performed. Sensitivity, specificity and accuracy of US examination of LN were checked by histopathological examination. Results. The presence of LN metastases in the group I was suggested by LN enlargement and its extent, while in the group II it was suggested by the ratio of LN length and width in 83.3% of the patients, echogenicity of LN center in 76.7% of the patients, LN resistance index in 73.3% of the patients, pathologic LN vascularization in 86.7%, and pathologic intranodal arborization in 83.3% of the patients. In 67.7% of the patients in the group I and in 93.3% of the patients in the group II matastatic changes of LN were diagnosed by pathohistology. A difference between validities of the two groups was statistically significant (p < 0.05). Conclusion. LN size without other US morphological and vascular characteristics of LN does not provide enough valid US finding for a reliable preoperative identification of LN with metastatic changes in patients with cutaneous melanoma.

Acta Facultatis Medicae Naissensis , 2004,
Abstract: Hepatorenal Syndrome (HRS) is a difficult complication that appears in patients with liver cirrhosis and ascites, and is characterized by significant deterioration of renal functions with significant sodium retention and oliguria. At the same time the real cause for this kidney disease cannot be found. The exact mechanisms of these changes have not been found but, it is considered that the disorder in the hemodynamics of kidneys themselves is the cause. The structure of kidneys is usually unchanged, and the urine analyses and pyelogram are normal. The main symptoms in a HRS are deterioration of azotemia, hyponatremia, progressive oliguria, and hypotension. This syndrome can be precipitated by difficult bleeding from digestive system, sepsis, forced diuresis or paracentesis. The treatment usually does not have much effect.

Medicinski Pregled , 2011, DOI: 10.2298/mpns1110503r
Abstract: Introduction. Renal dysfunction is one of complications in patients with obstructive icterus. It is important to recognize it early and take adequate measure to prevent its occurrence. One third of the patients with obstructive icterus have deterioration of renal function before surgical intervention. The aim of the research was to assess the renal dysfunction markers in patients with obstructive icterus. The following factors were examined: diuresis, urinary sodium concentration, sodium excretory fraction, urine osmolality, osmotic concentration index, creatinine concentration index and renal index of lesion. Material and methods. The study included 85 patients with obstructive icterus (50 patients before surgical intervention and 35 after surgical intervention) and 30 patients without icterus as a control group. The patients with normal renal function before the development of the disease were included. Results. Malignant etiology was present in 39 patients and benign in 46 patients of the examined group. The evaluation parameters of renal function were examined in all of the patients. Creatinine concentration index led to the greatest change in the coefficient value of an internal consistency, showing that it was the best renal function marker in the examined group of patients with icterus. The next one was the urinary osmolality, since its exclusion would lead to a decrease in the value of Cronbach α coefficient to 0.06. Icterus and surgical intervention show statistically significant effects to change in the value of the markers of laboratory differentiation of renal function, observed as an entire set. Discussion and conclusion. The examination showed that the concentration clearances of creatinine and urine osmolality are the parameters which point to the probability of renal dysfunction occurrence in obstructive icterus.
