Abstract:


Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is closely related to oxidative stress. Vitamin E (VE) is an effective antioxidant, which could relieve NAFLD symptoms by improving the balance of oxidation and anti-oxidation. However, recent researches indicate that the functional mechanisms of VE are not only limited to anti-oxidation, but also include adjusting the metabolism disorders of glucose and lipid. Furthermore, the efficacy of VE remains controversial in the treatment of NAFLD by far, and the suitable condition of patient, drug dosage, drug safety and course of treatment during clinical application still need to be discussed. Therefore, this paper reviewed the recent study progresses of clinical application of VE alone and VE and other drugs.

Abstract:

Generally speaking, being an efficient information hiding scheme, what we want to achieve is high embedding capacity of the cover image and high visual quality of the stego image, high visual quality is also called embedding efficiency. This paper mainly studies on the information hiding technology based on gray-scale digital images and especially considers the improvement of embedding capacity and embedding efficiency. For the purpose of that, two algorithms for information hiding were proposed, one is called high capacity of information hiding algorithm (HCIH for short), which achieves high embedding rate, and the other is called high quality of information hiding algorithm (HQIH for short), which realizes high embedding efficiency. The simulation experiments show that our proposed algorithms achieve better performance.

Abstract:
By sampling the undercurrent belts of riverfront, shoal and riverbed at Xianyang, Xi’an, Lintong and Huaxian in Weihe basin of Shaanxi province in the summer and winter of 2014 and analyzed the water chemical character through Piper trilinear chart, This thesis has come to the following conclusions: (1) PH in shoal range from 7.42 to 7.98, and in riverfront, the average is 7.58, present alkaline. The TDS in riverfront is higher than that of river water, it range from 506.5 to 824, 616.06 mg?L?1 in average. (2) All of the water at riverfront, shoal and riverbed under the influence of carbonate. The concentration of ionic concentration at shoal is between riverbed and riverfront, by contrast, it close to riverfront. This result means the shoal recharged by both surface and river water, and the groundwater recharge is more conspicuous than surface water. Besides, from upstream to downstream, the two kinds of main ions ( and Ca2+) have little change in the same river, it related to such factors as river evaporation, the exchange interaction of surface and underground water and so on.
Synthesis and Characterization of Magnetic Nanosized / Composite Particles

Abstract: Using the prepared Fe3O4 particles of 10 nm–25 nm as magnetic core, we synthesized Fe3O4/MnO2 composite particles with MnO2 as the shell by homogeneous precipitation. Their structure and morphology were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-Ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electronic microscopy (TEM), Fourier transform infrared spectra (FTIR), and vibration-sample magnetometer (VSM). We show that with urea as precipitant transparent and uniform MnO2 coating of ca.3 nm thick on Fe3O4, particles can be obtained. The composite particles have better dispersivity than the starting materials, and exhibit super-paramagnetic properties and better chemical adsorption ability with saturated magnetization of 33.5 emu/g. Decoloration experiment of methyl orange solution with Fe3O4/MnO2 composite suggested that the highest decoloration rate was 94.33% when the pH of methyl orange solution was 1.3 and the contact time was 50 minutes. So this kind of Fe3O4/MnO2 composite particle not only has super-paramagnetic property, but also good ability of chemical adsorption.

Abstract: Biomedical researchers are now often faced with situations where it is necessary to test a large number of hypotheses simultaneously, eg, in comparative gene expression studies using high-throughput microarray technology. To properly control false positive errors the FDR (false discovery rate) approach has become widely used in multiple testing. The accurate estimation of FDR requires the proportion of true null hypotheses being accurately estimated. To date many methods for estimating this quantity have been proposed. Typically when a new method is introduced, some simulations are carried out to show the improved accuracy of the new method. However, the simulations are often very limited to covering only a few points in the parameter space.
Situated Learning of a Behavior-Based Mobile Robot Path Planner

Abstract: In this paper,we propose a behavior-based path planner that can self-learn in an unknown environment.A situated learning algorithm is designed which allows the robot to learn to coordinate several concurrent behaviors and improve its performance by interacting with the environment.Behaviors are implemented using CMAC neural networks.A simulation environment is set up and some simulation experiments are carried out to rest our learning algorithm.
Impact of a CP Violating Higgs: from LHC to Baryogenesis

Abstract: We observe a generic connection between LHC Higgs data and electroweak baryogenesis: the particle that contributes to CP violating $hgg$ or $h\gamma\gamma$ vertex would provide a CP violating source during first order phase transition. It is illustrated in the 2HDM that a common CP violating phase controls the lightest Higgs properties at the LHC, electric dipole moments and the CP violating source for electroweak baryogenesis. We perform a general parametrization of Higgs effective couplings and a global fit to the LHC Higgs data. Current LHC measurements prefer a nonzero CP violating phase for $\tan \beta \lesssim 1$ and EDM constraints still allow an order one phase for $\tan \beta \sim1$, which gives sufficient room for generating the correct cosmic baryon asymmetry. We also give some prospects in the direct measurements of CP violation in the Higgs sector at the LHC.

Abstract: In the title compound, [Zn(C8H5N4O2)2(CH3OH)2(H2O)2]·2H2O, the ZnII ion lies on an inversion centre and is coordinated by two O atoms from two 4-(tetrazol-1-yl)benzoate ligands, two O atoms from two methanol molecules and two O atoms from two water molecules in a slightly distorted octahedral geometry. In addition, there are two uncoordinated water molecules in the crystal structure. The crystal structure is stabilized by intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds.
$1/f^α$ fluctuations in a ricepile model

Abstract: The temporal fluctuation of the average slope of a ricepile model is investigated. It is found that the power spectrum $S(f)$ scales as $1/f^{\alpha}$ with $\alpha\approx 1.3$ when grains of rice are added only to one end of the pile. If grains are randomly added to the pile, the power spectrum exhibits $1/f^2$ behaviour. The profile fluctuations of the pile under different driving mechanisms are also discussed.
Mean-field approximation for the chiral soliton in a chiral phase transition

Abstract: In the mean-field approximation we study the chiral soliton within the linear sigma model in a thermal vacuum. The chiral soliton equations with different boundary conditions are solved at finite temperatures and densities. The solitons are discussed before and after the chiral restoration. We find that the system has soliton solutions even after the chiral restoration and they are very different from those before the chiral restoration, which indicates that the quarks are still bounded after the chiral restoration.
