Modeling and Simulating of Uncertain Quality Abnormity Diagnosis

Abstract: There is much fuzzy uncertain information during the diagnosis of quality abnormity. The effective utilization model of that can provide important decision-making support. In this study, we consider three main types of fuzzy production rules, which can be used in fuzzy quality abnormity diagnosis problem and their presentation models are constructed by use of Fuzzy Reasoning Petri Nets (FRPNs). Considering of the graphic representation and logic structure of FRPNs, we propose the method for simulating model using Matlab toolbox state flow. By establishing a corresponding relationship between FRPNs rules and state flow block diagram, three simulating models for the three corresponding FRPNs’ basic structure are developed. Finally, we give an application case of the proposed model. Taking place truth degree data of FRPNs as input, the diagnosis process and results can be shown dynamically in the state flow simulating model under Matlab environment. The result illustrated that the method proposed can give reliable information for process maintenance and abnormal causes’ location.

Abstract: In this paper, we propose a three-dimensional Set Partitioned Embedded ZeroBlock Coding (3D SPEZBC) lossy-to-lossless compression algorithm for hyperspectral image which is an improved three-dimensional Embedded ZeroBlock Coding (3D EZBC) algorithm. The algorithm adopts the 3D integer wavelet packet transform proposed by Xiong et al. to decorrelate, the set-based partitioning zeroblock coding to process bitplane coding and the con-text-based adaptive arithmetic coding for further entropy coding. The theoretical analysis and experimental results demonstrate that 3D SPEZBC not only provides the same excellent compression performances as 3D EZBC, but also reduces the memory requirement compared with 3D EZBC. For achieving good coding performance, the diverse wave-let filters and unitary scaling factors are compared and evaluated, and the best choices were given. In comparison with several state-of-the-art wavelet coding algorithms, the proposed algorithm provides better compression performance and unsupervised classification accuracy.
Spectral Analysis and Variable Structural Control of an Elastic Beam  [PDF]

An elastic beam system formulated by partial differential equations with initial and boundary conditions is investigated in this paper. An evolution equation corresponding with the beam system is established in an appropriate Hilbert space. The spectral analysis and semigroup generation of the system operator of the beam system are discussed. Finally, a variable structural control is proposed and a significant result that the solution of the system is exponentially stable under a variable structural control with some appropriate conditions is obtained.

Does the Pay Gap in the Top Management Team Incent Enterprise Innovation?—Based on Property Rights and Financing Constraints  [PDF]

Abstract: Using the patent applications data of listed firms in China from 2005 to 2014, this paper examines how the pay gap in the top management team influences enterprise innovation. The result shows that the number of patent applications especially the number of patents for invention increases significantly when the pay gap enlarges. It means the enlargement of the pay gap in the top management team could incent executives to make innovation decisions, to promote outputs of high-quality patents for invention. Finally the quality of enterprise innovation has been improved. Especially, the incentive effect of the pay gap in the top management team is more significant in private enterprises and enterprises with strong financing constraints. Therefore, enterprises in these two groups have better innovation behaviors.
Noscapine Induced Apoptosis via Downregulation of Survivin in Human Neuroblastoma Cells Having Wild Type or Null p53

Abstract: Neuroblastoma is the most common extracranial solid tumor of childhood. It accounts for 15% of pediatric cancer deaths. Chemotherapy is the mainstay of treatment in children with advanced neuroblastoma. Noscapine, a nontoxic natural compound, can trigger apoptosis in many cancer types. We now show that p53 is dispensable for Noscapine-induced cell death in neuroblastoma cell lines, proapoptotic response to this promising chemopreventive agent is mediated by suppression of survivin protein expression. The Noscapine treatment increased levels of total and Ser15-phosphorylated p53 protein in SK-SY5Y cells, but the proapoptotic response to this agent was maintained even after knockdown of the p53 protein level. Exposure of SK-SY5Y and LA1-5S cells to Noscapine resulted in a marked decrease in protein and mRNA level of survivin as early as 12 hours after treatment. Ectopic expression of survivin conferred statistically significant protection against Noscapine-mediated cytoplasmic histone-associated apoptotic DNA fragmentation. Also, the Noscapine-induced apoptosis was modestly but statistically significantly augmented by RNA interference of survivin in both cell lines. Furthermore, Noscapine-induced apoptotic cell death was associated with activation of caspase-3 and cleavage of PARP. In conclusion, the present study provides novel insight into the molecular circuitry of Noscapine-induced apoptosis to indicate suppression of survivin expression as a critical mediator of this process.
Kinetics and mechanisms of p-nitrophenol biodegradation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa HS-D38

Abstract: The kinetics and mechanisms of p-nitrophenol (PNP) biodegradation by Pseudomonas aeruginosa HS-D38 were investigated. PNP could be used by HS-D38 strain as the sole carbon, nitrogen and energy sources, and PNP was mineralized at the maximum concentration of 500 mg/L within 24 h in an mineral salt medium (MSM). The analytical results indicated that the biodegradation of PNP fit the first order kinetics model. The rate constant kPNP is 2.039 10??2/h in MSM medium, KPNP+N is 3.603 10??2/h with the addition of ammonium chloride and KPNP+C is 9.74 10??3 /h with additional glucose. The addition of ammonium chloride increased the degradation of PNP. On the contrary, the addition of glucose inhibited and delayed the biodegradation of PNP. Chemical analysis results by thin-layer chromatography (TLC), UV-Vis spectroscopy and gas chromatography (GC) techniques suggested that PNP was converted to hydroquinone (HQ) and further degraded via 1,2,4-benzenetriol (1,2,4-BT) pathway.

Revealing spatially heterogeneous relaxation in a model nanocomposite

Abstract: The detailed nature of spatially heterogeneous dynamics of glycerol-silica nanocomposites is unraveled by combining dielectric spectroscopy with atomistic simulation and statistical mechanical theory. Analysis of the spatial mobility gradient shows no 'glassy' layer, but the alpha relaxation time near the nanoparticle grows with cooling faster than the alpha relaxation time in the bulk, and is ~ 20 times longer at low temperatures. The interfacial layer thickness increases from ~ 1.8 nm at higher temperatures to ~ 3.5 nm upon cooling to near Tg. A real space microscopic description of the mobility gradient is constructed by synergistically combining high temperature atomistic simulation with theory. Our analysis suggests that the interfacial slowing down arises mainly due to an increase of the local cage scale barrier for activated hopping induced by enhanced packing and densification near the nanoparticle surface. The theory is employed to predict how local surface densification can be manipulated to control layer dynamics and shear rigidity over a wide temperature range.

Abstract: Inspired by the first lustrum of the Club Positioning Matrix (CPM) for professional Dutch soccer teams, we model the interaction between soccer teams and their potential fans as a cooperative cost game based on the annual voluntary sponsorships of fans in order to validate their fan registration in a central database. We introduce a natural cost allocation to the soccer teams, based in a natural manner on the sponsorships of fans. The game theoretic approach is twofold. On the one hand, an appropriate cost game called “fan data cost game” is developed and on the other, it is shown that the former natural cost allocation agrees with the solution concept called “nucleolus” of the fan data cost game.
