Abstract: Laser display technology(LDT) is a novel display technology.The principle of LDT is presented.The advantages and flaws of additive codifier used in traditional scanner are analyzed.New method of synchronization in horizontal scanning is presented using polygonal real-time positioning system as alternative of additive codifier.The new system has the advantages of real time,high precision,non-load to the motor and low cost,etc.

Precise Determination of the MgAlON/(AlN+MgAlON) Phase Boundries in the MgO-AlN-Al2O3 Ternary System at 1600℃ and 1700℃

Abstract: The accurate phase boundary of MgAION/(AIN+MgAION) in MgO-AIN-Al2O3 ternary system, has not been determined precisely so far. In the present study, the lattice parameters of MgAION solid solution with various compositions were determined precisely with X-ray powder diffraction. According to the relationship between the lattice parameters of MgAION solid solution and the contents of AIN and MgO, the phase boundaries of MgAION/(AIN+MgAION) in MgO-AIN-AI2O3 ternary system at 1600℃ and 1700℃ were precisely determined.
Studies on Electro-Optic Deflector with Hypersurface Electrode Structure

Abstract: The electric field distributions of electro-optic deflectors with several different electrodes was studies by the finite element method. A new deflector with hypersurface electrode structure and bigger deflection angle is designed.Compared with the deflectors based on cylindrical electrode structure and hyperboloid electrode structure,it is shown that the new designed electro-optic deflector has bigger deflection angle and higher linearity of electric field gradient.

Abstract: A scheme of multi-wavelength OCDMA(MW OCDMA) decoder is proposed,which employs several optical hard-limiters to reduce multi-access interference(MAI).The performances of bit error rate (BER),spectral efficiency and normalized throughput are studied.The results show that BER of MW OCDMA system is improved by the scheme.Increasing the number of simultaneous users under a desired BER,spectral efficiency will also be improved.At the same time,optical hard-limiter can enhance the normalized throughput of MW OCDMA system.Especially the peak of normalized throughput is doubled.

Abstract: A new structure with both ridge waveguide and T-type electrode is given to enhance the bandwidth of electro-optic modulator.After calculating and optimizing by the finite-element method,as an example,an excellent modulator,whose bandwidth is 153 GHz,half wave voltage is 8.55 V,characteristic impedance is 44 Ω and driving power is 0.833 W is designed.

Abstract: Based on analyzing the speckle field s characteristic, the tracking method of digital speckle correlation using the sequential dynamical speckle patterns was presented. This method can bridge the gap that the ordinary speckle correlation does not suit the large deformation measurement, and increase the applied fields of digital speckle. Through this method, the large-scale dynamical displacement can be measured and the process of deformation in surface can be analyzed.
Gabor Wavelet Selection and SVM Classification for Object Recognition

Abstract: This paper proposes a Gabor wavelets and support vector machine (SVM)-based framework for object recognition. When discriminative features are extracted at optimized locations using selected Gabor wavelets, classifications are done via SVM. Compared to conventional Gabor feature based object recognition system, the system developed in this paper is both robust and efficient. The proposed framework has been successfully applied to two object recognition applications, i.e., object/non-object classification and face recognition. Experimental results clearly show advantages of the proposed method over other approaches.

Optical Phased Array Beam Deflector Drive Study

Abstract: A drive system for a 16-channel waveguide optical phased array beam deflector is presented, where the control unit for drive voltage regulation is implemented with a field programmable gate array (FPGA) chip. With the drive system, a beam scan rate above 580 kHz can be achieved, which is far higher than that obtained with other implementation methods based on microcontrollers.
