Analysis on content of serum monoamine neurotransmitters in macaques with anger-in-induced premenstrual syndrome and liver-qi depression syndrome

Abstract: OBJECTIVE: To observe the changes in content of monoamine neurotransmitters in the serum of rhesus macaques, and explore the role of serum monoamine neurotransmitters in premenstrual syndrome (PMS) and liver-qi depression induced by anger-in emotion.METHODS: Social level pressure was applied on 24 female macaques to induce the angry emotional reaction, and then nine of the low-status macaques with anger-in emotional reaction were screened out and were divided into anger-in emotion group, PMS and liver-qi depression group (model group) and Jingqianshu Granule group. Macaques in the last two groups were suffered extruding in a pack cage for inducing PMS liver-qi depression. After 5 d of extruding, experimental animals were evaluated according to the emotional evaluation scale, meanwhile, macaque serum of follicular phase and middle-late luteal phase was collected to analyze the content of serum norepinephrine, dopamine, and 5-hydroxytryptamine.RESULTS: Compared with the normal control group, the scores of depression of the model group and the anger-in emotion group evaluated with emotional evaluation scale were significantly increased (P<0.01, P<0.05); while the score of the model group was significantly higher than that of the anger-in emotion group (P<0.05), and it returned to normal after Jingqianshu Granule treatment. As compared to the normal control group, serum monoamine neurotransmitter levels of the model group and the anger-in emotion group were increased (P<0.05, P<0.01), and the serum monoamine neurotransmitter levels of the model group were significantly higher than those of the anger-in emotion group (P<0.05), while there was no significant difference when compared with the normal control group after the treatment.CONCLUSION: Anger-in emotion can induce liver-qi depression syndrome which is related to the changes in monoamine neurotransmitters.

Harmonious Tourism Environment and Tourists Perception: An Empirical Study of Mountain-Type World Cultural Heritage Sites in China  [PDF]

Abstract: This study tested the structural equation model between harmonious tourism environment perception and tourists’ loy- alty. In this paper, a model is erected to indicate the relationship between harmonious tourism environment perception and tourists’ loyalty. With 377 valid questionnaires from 8 mountain-type world cultural heritage sites in China, the author tested the model by SPSS and AMOS. It was found that the perception of natural ecosystem was the most influential factor affecting tourists’ entire environment perception, social relations system was the second place and cultural ecosystem was the third place. The entire harmonious tourism environment perception also greatly determines tourists’ loyalty. At last, some suggestions were given to make tourism destination develop sustainably based on this study.
Different Functional Gene Clusters in Yeast have Different Spatial Distributions of the Transcription Factor Binding Sites

Abstract: Transcription factors control gene expression by binding to short specific DNA sequences, called transcription factor binding sites (TFBSs), in the promoter of a gene. Thus, studying the spatial distribution of TFBSs in the promoters may provide insights into the molecular mechanisms of gene regulation. I developed a method to construct the spatial distribution of TFBSs for any set of genes of interest. I found that different functional gene clusters have different spatial distributions of TFBSs, indicating that gene regulation mechanisms may be very different among different functional gene clusters. I also found that the binding sites for different transcription factors (TFs) may have different spatial distributions: a sharp peak, a plateau or no dominant single peak. The spatial distributions of binding sites for many TFs derived from my analyses are valuable prior information for TFBS prediction algorithm because different regions of a promoter can assign different possibilities for TFBS occurrence.

Abstract: This work successfully used model rats with Pre-Menstrual Syndrome (PMS) liver-qi invasion in the early de-velopment days to detect the Metabolic and Behavioral Patterns and their reversal by a Chinese traditional for-mula. Our aim is to verify the reliability of PMS liver-qi invasion rat model and explore some micro- mecha-nism of the syndrome of the liver failing to maintain the normal flow of qi. 30 rats with estrous cycles not in accepting time were selected and divided randomly into three groups: the normal control group, PMS liver-qi invasion model group and PMS liver-qi invasion medication-administered group. Emotional stimulation and multiple factors combination were used to prepare the PMS liver-qi invasion model. Baixiangdan Capsules (a Chinese traditional formula) were administered to rats to interfere with the PMS liver-qi invasion mode. Open-field test was used to explore behavioral aspects of the model. Urine samples, from the three groups, were collected and analyzed with UPLC-Q-TOF method to detect changes in metabolites related to liver func-tions. In the open-field experiment, the crossing scores, rearing scores and open-field experiment total scores of rats in the PMS liver-qi invasion model group increased remarkably (P < 0.05) compared with the scores of the normal control group, the tendency was retrieved remarkably after medications (P < 0.05). Metabolic finger-prints between the PMS liver-qi invasion model group and the normal control group had also distinguished changes through principal component analysis, and an evident restoration trend occurred after Baixiangdan Capsules administration. Taken together, behavioral and metabolic patterns can differentiate the PMS liver-qi invasion rat models from the normal rats. Our results identified potential biological markers that might reflect metabolic pathologies associated with PMS liver-qi invasion.

Abstract: With the explosive growth of knowledge and the further improvement of economic globalization, technology gradually represents its greater significance as the core factor of the strategic resources and competence for national and regional development, which becomes a greater support to the construction of the innovative country and also a key to take the initiative to develop. Under this tendency, technological improvements should play a more important role in pushing the economy forwards, which brings higher requirements for technical development in Shanghai. Thus Shanghai must integrate and utilize the resources of new technology in a more comprehensive way. During the process of building up a well-off society as well as innovative regions in an all-around way, the demand for technological innovation is continuously increasing and its content, as to Shanghai, is undergoing further fulfillment. The study on the inner connection between Shanghai technological development and economic growth, thus under such background, means much to get a knowledge about the dynamic equilibrium relationship between technical progress and economic growth, which can be taken as an important reference for the government to draw up the plan for future technological development.

Abstract: We focused on the need for the phosphorus removal in water plant process. As for surface water plant, the enhancement of phosphorus removal in purification process can raise the biological stability of effluent potable water. This study conducted the effect of two water treatment processes for phosphorus removal, including the PAC + AAL (the treatment process using poly aluminum chloride and activated aluminum oxide) and PFS + AAL (the treatment process using poly ferric sulfate and activated aluminum oxide). The aim is to use the adsorption capacity of activated aluminum oxide to increase the removal of phosphorus in filtration process. The result showed that the two processes both can remove the phosphorus concentration to reach below 10 μg/L, and the PAC + AAL is the better process.
Novel Adaptive Learning Control of Linear Systems with Completely Unknown Time Delays

Abstract: A novel output-feedback adaptive learning control approach is developed for a class of linear time-delay systems. Three kinds of uncertainties: time delays, number of time delays, and system parameters are all assumed to be completely unknown, which is different from the previous work. The design procedure includes two steps. First, according to the given periodic desired reference output and the allowed bound of tracking error, a suitable finite Fourier series expansion (FSE) is chosen as a practical reference output to he tracked. Second, by expressing the delayed practical reference output as a known time-varying vector multiplied by an unknown constant vector, we combine three kinds of uncertainties into an unknown constant vector and then estimate the vector by designing an adaptive law. By constructing a Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, it is proved that the system output can asymptotically track the practical reference signal An example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the control scheme developed in this paper.

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to investigate some nonlinear integral inequalities on time scales. Our results unify and extend some continuous inequalities and their corresponding discrete analogues. The theoretical results are illustrated by a simple example at the end of this paper.
