Abstract: A dislocation interaction model has been proposed for cyclic deformation of fcc crystals.Ac-cording to this model,cyclic stress-strain responses and saturation dislocation structures of acrystal are associated with the modes and intensities of dislocation interactions between slipsystems active in the crystal; and,hence,may be predicted by the location of its tensile axis inthe crystallographic triangle.This model has successfully explained the different behaviours ofdouble-slip crystals and multi-slip behaviours of some crystals with orientations usually con-sidered as single-slip ones.

Abstract: Cyclic stress-strain responses and dislocation structure of copper single crystals with varioustensile axes were systematically studied and compared with each other.Experimental resultsreveal that the evolution of microscopic dislocation configurations in a crystal and,accordingly,its macroscopic cyclic behaviours are closely related with its orientation.Re-markable secondary slip has been observed in some crystals with orientations well inside thecrystallographic triangle, which are usually considered as single-slip ones.Their cycliobehaviours and dislocation structures at saturation are similar to those of their neighbouringmulti-slip crystals.These results have constructed the experimental basis for the newly pro-posed dislocation interaction model Jor cyclic deformation of fee crystals,which will be des-cribed in the second part of this article.
A Hybrid De-Noising Method on LASCA Images of Blood Vessels  [PDF]

Abstract: A de-noising approach is proposed that based on the combination of wiener filtering, nonlinear filtering and wavelet fusion, which de-noise the LASCA (LAser Speckle Contrast Analysis) image of blood vessels in Small Animals. The approach first performs laser spectral contrast analysis on brain blood flow in rats, get their spatial and temporal contrast images. Then, a de-noising filtering method is proposed to deal with noise in LASCA. The image restoration is achieved by applying the proposed admixture filtering, and the subjective estimation and objective estimation are given to the de-noising images. As our experimental results shown, the proposed method provides clearer subjective sense and improved to over 25 db for PSNR.

Abstract: Influence of tensile stress on the composition of surface oxides on the alloys Ni-23Al-0.5Zr-0.1B and Ni-17Al-8Cr-0.5Zr-0.1B(at.-%) was studied. NiO content in the oxide scale may increase obviously under tensile stress. Thermodynamic analyses shows that, during oxidation, the volume expansion of Ni and Al are different, and the tensile stress may influence the enrichment of NiO in oxide scales so as to reduce the elastic deformation energy.

Abstract: An expert system,IMEC,for the retrieval and prediction of binary intermetallic compoundshas been built.The rules found by chenlieal bond parameter-pattern recognition method havebeen used for computerized prediction.Data base of known mtermetallic compounds andchemical bond parameters of metallic elements and the knowledge proeessing system are included in the expert system.By man-machine interfacing,the formation,stoichiometry andcrystal type o fall binary intermetallic compounds can be predicted or retrieved.

Abstract: By means of electron probe(EPMA),scanning electron microscope(SEM),and optical microscope (QM),the diffusion behaviour on the Fe-Cu interface of copper brazed double-wall steel tubes and the microstructure of the diffusion layer have been investigated.There are three kinds of metallurgical bonds between copper plating layer and steel substrate: (1)the Cu diffusing into steel substrate along grain boundary of ferrite;(2)the Cu diffusion into grain bulk of ferrite: (3)the Fe diffusing into Cu layer.The copper brazed double-wall steel tubes are formed by the combination of the diffusions mentioned above and this is the reason for excellent mechanical and technological properties of the copper brazed double-wall steel tubes.

Abstract: The relationship between structure and hysteresis of phase transformation temperature in NiTi shape memory alloy has been investigated by means of TEM observation,positron an- nihilation and electrical resistivity measurement.The sequence of hysteresis for the alloy aged under different regimes was found to be:plate martensite>R-phase>tie-like martensite. The reversible displaeement of phase boundaries of these transformations is blocked by the co- herent stress field around Ti_(11)Ni_(14)phase particles.A linear relationship between S paramet- er of positron annihilation and maximum values of temperature hysteresis showed that the mismatch dislocation and elastic stress field established by Ti_(11)Ni_(14)phase precipitation are the main factor to determine the temperature hysteresis of phase transformation in NiTi shape memory alloy.

Abstract: The transgranular growth of martensite in a CuZnAl shape memory alloy was ob- served by using TEM and optical microscope with heating attachment. The analysis shows that the transgranular growth seems to be a general behavior of thermoelastic martensite at low angle grain boundaries.

Abstract: Mathematical simulation and experimental study for the influence of pulverized coal size on NO_x emission performance in a bench scale furnace have been done. The results show that there exists a critical diameter (dc). If ddc, the NO_x concentration reduces with the increase of the pulverized coal size. The concentration of NO_x is reduced for superfine pulverized coal whether in the oxidative circumstance or in the reductive circumstance. The quantity of NO_x released from superfine pulverized coal decreased obviously for lignite, but decreased little in some sort for anthracite. Overall reasonable agreement between the simulating and experimental results for NO_x release behavior is obtained.
A new feasible technique of mesh-reinforced pancreatojejunostomy and pancreatogastrostomy: retrospective analysis of 61 cases

Abstract: A total of 61 patients who underwent mesh-reinforced pancreatojejunostomy or pancreatogastrostomy from August 2005 to November 2011 were retrospectively analyzed.The mean anastomosis time of mesh-reinforced pancreatojejunostomy was 25 minutes ranging from 22 to 35 minutes. In mesh-reinforced pancreatogastrostomy, the mean anastomosis time ranged from 20 to38 minutes with an average of 30 minutes. Blood loss was 200 to 4,000?ml with an average of 710?ml in all patients. There was one case of pancreatic leak of Class A, three cases of pancreatic leak of Class B, one case of pancreatic leak of Class C, one case of choledochojejunostomy leakage, one case of gastrojejunostomy leakage, and three cases of abdominal bleeding.As a new technique, mesh-reinforced pancreatojejunostomy and pancreatogastrostomy might be a safe and feasible procedure to prevent postoperative pancreatic leak.This research is waivered from trial registration because it was a retrospective analysis of medical records.
