Musculoskeletal Pain in Elderly Patients with Osteoporosis: A Multicenter Study

Abstract: Objective: The aim of this study was to identify the ones with osteoporosis (OP) in elderly patients presenting with musculoskeletal complaints and to evaluate the distribution of region of pain and the medications used for the musculoskeletal disease(s) in these patients.Materials and Methods: 1141 elderly patients who were consecutively admitted to the outpatient clinics in nine different provinces were screened for the diagnosis of OP. Age, gender, complaints, diagnosis and current medications related to musculoskeletal system disorder(s) were recorded. Results: 382 elderly (341 female, 41 male) with a mean age of 71.9±5.3 years had the diagnosis of OP. Low (54.5%) and upper back (39.6%) pain were the most common complaints in both sexes. These were followed by knee, hip, cervical and shoulder pain, respectively. Osteoarthritis (36%), lumbar (21%) and cervical spondylosis/stenosis (10%) were the most common musculoskeletal diseases accompanying OP. The mean number of drugs used was 3.0±1.2. The most commonly prescribed anti-osteoporotic agents were bisphosphonates (59%). For the musculoskeletal pain, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (systemic and/or topical) were used in 46.6% and paracetamol in 24.6% of patients. Conclusion: It is crucial to perform a thorough physical examination to reveal the underlying cause of back pain in elderly osteoporotic patients. Besides, in order to minimize polypharmacy, it should be kept in mind that non-pharmacological approaches can be used for the management of musculoskeletal diseases. Abstract: Having been in a search of stocks and markets due to the industrial revolution, the imperialist states have made a bid for obtaining a concession of railway from the Ottoman Empire since the mids of the nineteenth century. As soon as these states have struggled for obtaining the railway concession by a great deal of different requirements, they have tried to enlarge their domains that would contain abundant oil fields on the Ottoman mainland. At the beginning of the twentieth century, America got involved in these states with the project “Chester”. n this study, the attempts of the Chester Group on the obtainment of the railway concession and the results have been evaluated in collaboration with the news and reports about the subject in the newspaper named “Hakimiyet-i Milliye”.

In this respect, some factors like collecting, saving, using and sharing knowledge should be subjected under consideration. The main objective of the present research is to examine the knowledge leadership in a global economy. Empirical study was performed on managers of Research Hospitals, who were known with their success in producing and using knowledge. Included in the empirical investigation were hospital managers, managerial assistants, head nurses and assistant head nurses of Afyon Kocatepe University, Isparta Süleyman Demirel University, Konya Sel uk University, Kütahya Dumlup nar University and Eski ehir Osmangazi University hospitals. The results revealed a positive effect of knowledge leadership on productivity.

Abstract: This study has evaluated the Sempervivum diversity in Turkey based on geographical distribution, threatened cases in respect of IUCN Red Data Book Categories and landscape characteristics. As a result of this study, 16 Sempervivum species including 13 endemic are mapped in respect of geographical distribution and Davis`s square system.
THE EFFECT OF SKILL-BASED MAXIMAL INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING ON AEROBIC AND ANAEROBIC PERFORMANCE OF FEMALE FUTSAL PLAYERS

Abstract: This study examined the effects of skill-based maximal intensity interval training on aerobic and anaerobic performance variables among female futsal players. The study included 12 elite female futsal players (training group, TG) from university league division I and 12 physically active female sports-school students (control group, CG). The CG completed volleyball and basketball courses (each 2 hours per week) as part of their school programs; the TG completed an 8-week training program (non-sequential, 4 days per week). Aerobic and anaerobic performance variables were measured before and after the training program via a 20m shuttle run and running anaerobic sprint tests (RAST). Average anaerobic power, fatigue index and VO2max of TG improved by 10.7% 22.1% and 9.6% (p<0.05), respectively. These findings demonstrate that skill-based maximal intensity interval training had significant effects on both aerobic and anaerobic performance variables of female futsal players. The results suggest that this training model may be useful as a training efficiency tool among futsal coaches.

Abstract: Should it be started to teach grammar in parts or as a whole? Acquiring and imparting knowledge in the manners of part-whole relationship is an essential method of education. The priority is given to “part” in grammar teaching programs, however, the purpose for this arrange has not been emphasized. The order of the subjects is extremely important in grammar teaching. The fact that the language is a “communication” system should not be avoided during the arguments on the question if the priority should be given to “part” or “whole” throughout the ordering of subjects. Abstract: The researches on Anatolian and Rumelian dialects which commenced in mid-19th century, has made a considerable progress both in quality and quantity correspondingly with the development of universities. The information about Anatolian and Rumelian dialects was limited during the first century of Turkish dialect studies. Most of these studies were based on the researches conducted by the foreign scholars. In addition to these foreign originated studies, we can count some grammar books containing information related to dialects. These grammar books are of importance since they indicate the agelong change process of dialects. This paper evaluates the information about Anatolian and Rumelian dialects which are found in the grammar books written before the first quarter of 20th century. Anadolu ve Rumeli a zlar hakk nda 19. yüzy l ortalar nda ba layan ara t rmalar, bugün üniversitelerin geli mesine paralel olarak nitelik ve nicelik bak m ndan hayli mesafe kat etmi durumdad r. Abstract: It has been indicated in the recent economic literature that the accountability of monetary policies is the most significant variable determining the effectiveness of applications. Accordingly, transparency in monetary policy becomes the most important factor for Central Banks. Thus, asymmetric distribution of information between Central Bank and other economic units becomes a significant problem requiring to be solved in order to reach the efficient monetary policy. From this starting point, the study aims to analyze the basic resource of asymmetric information problems. We deal with the asymmetric information between Central Bank and other economic units in the framework of three resources. These are the deficiencies of information concerning the aim of policy, the transmission mechanism of policy and the data sets realized in process of policy application. Also, we will evaluate the policies of Central Bank in Turkey, determining the solutions for problems indicated in this study, in the framework of strategy towards Inflation Targeting

Abstract: Globalization phenomenon is not only effected organisations and shape of managements it is also effected expectation ofcustomers and labourforce by changing and shaping these factors. Anyway organisations are more aware, know what they want,allocate good and bad service and also we are vis a vis to customer structure of giving reaction if it is necessary against to badservice. Therefore all studies in organisation focused on customer. Organisations neglecting customer focused service have gotdifficulties for their life and competition.Customer focused services can secure with employees which are motiveted and has got work satisfaction. Consequently inestablishments with best organized, best facilities but negative employee attitude would be getting reason of bad perception oncustomers, but avarage organization with positive attitude of employee it would be getting customer pleasure.Regarding to enterprises it is occured o concept “Key Efficiency Scale”. This is not enough for measuring all phisical output.Otherwise it is measuring product or services which are big part of company profession. For example some insuarance companiesefficiency of claim service is measuring with number of claims to whom study duration.Hospitals are kind of organisations which have got interaction with public authority and social domination groups. From thisspeciality the management of hospitals also complex and difficult. Althogh speedy population increase, extension of average livingduration, rising of health aware, changing of patients demand, incresing necessity of medical practicing, excessive competition,high technology become widespread of medical area. All these things are reason of that hospital manage importance with effectiveand productive shape. Therefore it is necessitate to secure productivity increasing. It must be firstly doing increasing thelabourforce efficiency.This research realized the aim of determinig which demografic factors effected to hospital employees lobour forceproductivity. Main weight of this research is Afyonkarahisar Kocatepe University Hospital health employees. Total personel are720 but it is reached 457 personel sampling of total personel for this study.It is more difficult to measure labor productivity in service organizations than organizations which produce goods. Researchhas two main variable groups as depended and independed variables. Independed variables of research includes age, sex, marital status, education level, work experience at hospital.
