Agricultural Journal , 2013, DOI: 10.3923/aj.2010.215.219
Abstract: The present study aimed to determine the effect of different weaning ages on the fatty acid composition and nutritional value of rack joints (6th-12th ribs) of male Akkeci (white goat) kid carcasses. The study consisted of 15 heads of kids weaned at 45, 60 and 75 days of age. All kids were slaughtered when they reached approximately 27 kg commercial slaughter weight. There were no significant differences in nutritional value or collagen content among the groups. C 14:0 content was significantly higher in the group of kids weaned at 75 days (p<0.05) when compared to other groups whereas C 17:0 content was significantly higher in the group weaned at 45 days (p<0.05). There were no significant differences in total saturated and unsaturated fatty acids of rack joint fat tissue among groups. However, kids weaned at 45 and 60 days of age had significantly higher total mono-unsaturated fatty acids than those weaned at 75 days (p<0.05). C 18:1 content (p<0.05) greatly affected the differences in mono unsaturated fatty acids among groups. In conclusion, contents of some fatty acids in kid rack joints may be affected by differences in milk and concentrate consumption resulting from differences in weaning ages.

Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances , 2012,
Abstract: The aim of this study was to determine relationships between some udder traits [Undder Bottom Height (UBH), Udder Depth (UD), Udder Circumference (UC), Left Teat Circumference (LTC), Right Teat Circumference (RTC) and Teat Angle (TA)] and Daily Milk Yields (DMY) of Akke?i goats. For this purpose, data were collected from 30 goats. Correlations and path analysis were executed for identify the significant contribution of the udder traits on daily milk yields. As a result, this study indicated that these traits especialy, udder circumference and udder bottom height could be used as selection criterias for milk yields in Akke?i goats.
Dynamic Arbitrageurs’ Long-Run Impacts on Convertible Bond Issuers’ Stock Prices  [PDF]
Serhat Yildiz
Theoretical Economics Letters (TEL) , 2018, DOI: 10.4236/tel.2018.89099
Abstract: I examine convertible bond arbitrageurs’ long-run impact on convertible bond issuers’ stock prices. I find a negative relation between arbitrage activity around convertible bond issues and convertible bond issuers’ long-run stock returns. Average three-year holding period return of convertible bond issuers with no-arbitrage activity around their convertible bond issues is two times larger than that of convertible bond issuers with arbitrage activity around their convertible bond issues. Overall, I show that convertible bond arbitrageurs’ price impact is not limited to short-term [1], but it also has a long-term component.
An Empirical Multi-Output Production Decision Model for the Profit Maximizing Multiproduct Firm  [PDF]
Ekaterina Vorotnikova, Serhat Asci
Theoretical Economics Letters (TEL) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/tel.2015.54065
Abstract: Empirical estimation of a theoretical multi-output production model that uses multiple inputs is difficult because of the complexities of its functional form. By using proper parameterization to linearize theoretical model’s functional form, this paper develops an empirical estimation for multi-output production decision using multiple inputs in the profit maximizing firm, namely, multi-output production decision model. The model aligns with the dual approach of cost minimization and revenue maximization for the profit maximizing multi-product firm while keeping jointness in production structurally intact.
THE PLOT TECHNIQUE AND THEME OF G LGES ZLER G LGES ZLER’ N KURGU TEKN VE TEMASI

Turkish Studies , 2011,
Abstract: G lgesizler, which is written by Hasan Ali Topta attracts attention at first glance with its extraordinary plot technique. The novel is double stranded. The events take place in parallel to each other. In the first strand the events takes place in city; in the second one the events take place in a village. These two strand and the places are tied to each other with the people who get lost in village appearing in the city or get lost in the city appearing in the village. The narrator sometimes looks into the city sometimes into the village. The novel is plotted between these two places so the two strands mingle with each other turning into the shape of spiral. In this essay this novel will be analysed in terms of its plot technique. Other element which attracts attention is the theme of the novel. Topta handles people who exist on the one hand and do not exist on the other hand. Existence and nonexistence are the vicious circle of the life. The novel in this essay will also be analysed in terms of this philosophical issue and the theme Hasan Ali Topta ’ n roman G lgesizler, ilk bak ta al lmam kurgu tekni iyle dikkati eker. ift zincirli bir romand r bu. Abstract: In this article, the impact on business life of the ongoing issue of the headscarf ban in the public sector will be examined, with particular attention to the relationship between employer and employee. More specifically, this article will focus on expert-employees and on conservative investorexpert-employees who wear headscarves This article isbased on written literature, research reports by a number of foundations and associations, writers, observations by sociologists and investors, and interviews with participants. made up of expert-employees who wear the headscarf and conservative investors. An “in-depth” method was used when conducting interviews in which there were twenty participants; eleven of which were expert-employees who wear headscarves, and nine were conservative investors. Three of the expert-employees were top level managers, while the other eight were middle level workers. During the interviews, a recording device was used for only one of the participants and notes were taken for the others. The duration of the interviews ranged from proximately two to two and a half hours without break. The history of the headscarf ban, its impact on people, how people’s notions and attitudes toward the headscarf have changed between the 1960s and 2000s, the direct and indirect effects of the headscarf ban in public places on the business life, and the perspectives held toward the headscarfby conservative-investors will be examined in this paper. As a result, it has been found that expert employees have been discriminated against in various areas and aspects of the professional world. Although their reasons may vary, examples can be seen in the job application process and in business life. The basic challenges expert-workers who wear headscarves face are restrictions in the amount of companies who will even consider hiring them, being assigned lower wages, and facing greater obstacles toward promotion.
Türkiye'de Enflasyon - Büyüme li kisi : Zaman Serisi Analizi = Inflation - Growth Relationship in Turkey : Time Series Analysis

Dogus University Journal , 2003,
Abstract: The relationship between inflation and growth in Turkey is examined in this paper with time series analysis using quarterly data related to 1987-2002 period. A unidirectional casuality runs from inflation to growth within the Granger casuality analysis. The regression analysis we have made points out that inflation effects growth negatively. Every 1 point increase in inflation is found to decrease growth rate by 0.37 points during the examined period.
