In Mexico the pig is the main source of contamination the applied treatment has been unspecific. The effective treatment for this disease is not truly known. This study is led to know if Albendazole (ABZ), Nitazoxanide (NZX) and Ivermectin (IVM) are effective in the treatment of intestinal phase (IP) and muscular phase (MP) of trichinellosis. Therefore we consider convenient to know what medicament is more effective against the T. spiralis parasite in both phases. 18 York pigs were used, 10 groups were made: 1- healthy control in IP 2- infected control in IP, 3 - infected treated with ABZ in IP, 4 - infected and treated with IVM in IP, 5 - infected and treated with NZX in IP, 6.-healthy control in MP, 7.- infected control in MP, 8- infected and treated with ABZ in muscular phase (MP), 9 - infected and treated with IVM in MP, 10 - infected and treated with NZX in MP. EDUCATIONAL PERFORMANCE AND SPATIAL CONVERGENCE IN PERU
Maribel ELIAS,Sergio J. REY
Région et Développement , 2011,
Abstract: While an enormous and growing literature exists on the topic of re-gional income convergence, other aspects of socioeconomic well-being and development have attracted much less attention. Social indicators are a valuable complement to economic indicators when analyzing spatial patterns in a given geographic region, and can often yield a more comprehensive view about re-gional socioeconomic behavior. In poorer nations dominated by many low in-come areas that exhibit similar economic performance, social indicators may reveal further insight into the differences among regions. This paper explores the issue of educational convergence in Peru over the period 1993 to 2005. Using both exploratory spatial data analysis and spatial econometrics, the study is conducted at province level in order to uncover potential spatial patterns that help explain variation in educational performance over time, among regions, and across different terrain.

The Albendazol is the antihelmintic of first election for several parasitism, among them trichinellosis, nevertheless, the time of treatment must be per prolonged periods. The aim of this work was to determine the effect of this medicine on Long rats Evans pregnant and infected with T. spiralis. We synchronize the rats to develop them and to infect them, the treatment went of one to fourteen days, used the Hematoxilina-Eosin technique to verify the effect on the liver and the reproductive apparatus and verified the number of young for each treatment and if correspondence between the obtained characteristics of the reproductive apparatus and young existed, the results indicate a degeneration of weaves as increases the time of treatment in addition is observed that I number of young is directly affected when increasing the treatment.

Utilizamos ratas cepa Long Evans en edad reproductiva. Trichinella spiralis is one of the causative agents of the Trichinellosis, is a zoonosis of world-wide distribution, affects to big number of mammals like this as to the human. In Mexico the main cause of infection associate with the consumption of pig infected meat with T. spiralis. In this work detected the phenotypical changes in long Evans rats products infected with Trichinells spiralis and threated with albendazol medication. Use rats cepa long evans ina reproductive age. Divided in groups, included controls and with treatment varying of one to fourteen days of treatment, to synchronize the management in the rats realized vaginal.smears For the detection of the parasites used direct techniques of understanding in plate and artificial digestion and the indirect technician of MIID, for the phenotypical changes of baby rats obtained realized a detailed analysis with stereoscopic microscope.

Abstract: Aim: To evaluate data related to mental work functioning of workers with cancer diagnosis in radiotherapy in a private service in the city of Campinas, State of São Paulo, Brazil. Method: It consists in a cross-sectional, observational and analytical study with comparison between cancer patients and healthy people, using the Brazilian version of the Work Role Functioning Questionnaire (WRFQ-Br). Descriptive and statistical analysis is performed by the Mann-Whitney test. Results: There was a significant difference between the groups in the evaluation of mental demand; however, the population diagnosed with malignant neoplasm submitted to radiotherapy had unexpected higher scores, reflecting lower mental exigency. Conclusions: The observed context may occur due to extensive support of family, government and interdisciplinary team of health care for individuals diagnosed with cancer. This data provide support for new research studies related to the importance of the work to promote mental health, considering aspects related to social interaction and productivity as the support system members. The importance of disseminating these results and limitation is based in the necessity of investments to improve research and actions to promote the permanence and early return to work for cancer survivors in Brazil and Latin America.
Mycophenolate mofetil may protect against Pneumocystis carinii pneumonia in renal transplanted patients

Revista do Instituto de Medicina Tropical de S?o Paulo , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S0036-46652005000300005
Abstract: pneumocystis carinii pneumonia (pcp) is usually prevented in transplanted patients by prophylactic trimethoprim-sulfamethoxazol (tms). mycophenolate mofetil (mmf) has been shown to have a strong protective effect against pcp in rats. this effect is also suggested in humans by the absence of pcp in patients receiving mmf. after january 1998 mmf has been used with no tms prophylaxis in renal transplanted patients. in azathioprine (aza) treated patients tms prophylaxis was maintained. the incidence of pcp was analyzed in both groups. data were collected in order to have a minimum 6-month follow-up. two hundred and seventy-two patients were eligible for analysis. no pcp occurred either in patients under mmf without tms prophylaxis nor in patients under aza. mmf may have an effective protective role against pcp as no patient under mmf, despite not receiving tms coverage, developed pcp. a larger, controlled, trial is warranted to consolidate this information.
On the canonical ideals of one-dimensional Cohen-Macaulay local rings
J. Elias
Mathematics , 2013,
Abstract: In this paper we consider the problem of finding explicitly canonical ideals of one-dimensional Cohen-Macaulay local rings. We show that Gorenstein ideals contained in a high power of the maximal ideal are canonical ideals. In the codimension two case, from a Hilbert-Burch resolution, we show how to construct canonical ideals of curve singularities. Finally, we translate the problem of the analytic classification of curve singularities to the classification of local Artin Gorenstein rings with suitable length.
