Aksaray University Journal of Science and Engineering , 2017, DOI: -
Abstract: The drying characteristics of radix eremut (Eremurus spectabilis) were investigated using microwave drying method. The drying curves of radix eremut locate in the falling rate regime and time required for drying reduced by raising microwave powers ranging from 160 to 640 W. The experimentally obtained data were fitted to six models. The most accurate models for determining the thin layer drying characteristic of radix eremut were determined to be the Midilli and Page models as the best. Effective moisture diffusion coefficients (Deff) were computed utilizing Fick’s second law equation and the values of Deff found to be in range of 2.300 x 10-9 to 1.690 x 10-8 m2.s-1. Revised Arrhenius equation was implemented to identify the activation energy and its value was calculated as 148.82 W.g-1. The energy efficiency raised with raising microwave power and moisture ratio.

N?ropsikiyatri Ar?ivi , 2010,
Abstract: Objective: The aim of this study is to investigate whether serum ghrelin levels are associated with metabolic syndrome (MetS) in bipolar patients. Methods: A total of 60 bipolar disorder patients and 30 healthy volunteers were included in the study. The patient group was separated into two subgroups according to the use of atypical antipsychotics (AA)-risperidone, quetiapine, olanzapine or mood stabilizers (MS)-lithium, valproic acid, carbamazepine, lamotrigine. The serum ghrelin level was measured by human ghrelin ELISA kits. Patients were diagnosed with MetS according to the National Cholesterol Education Program Adult Treatment Panel 3 (NCEP ATP 3) criteria; MetS was considered present when 3 or more criteria were met. Results: Among bipolar patients included in the study, 51.7% (n=31) were treated only with AA, while 48.8% (n=29) were treated with MS alone. MetS diagnosis was established in 36.7% (n=22) of patients. There was no significant difference in ghrelin levels when comparing patients with and without MetS. Additionally, there were no significant differences among the patients with MetS using AAs and among the patients with MetS using MSs in terms of ghrelin levels. The serum ghrelin levels were found to be significantly lower in bipolar patients compared to controls. Negative correlation was detected between ghrelin and fasting blood glucose. Conclusion: Our study found that, compared to the general population, MetS was more frequently observed in bipolar patients and that serum ghrelin level was significantly lower in those patients. This result might be associated either with a compensatory mechanism or with an involvement of other disease-specific parameters. (Archives of Neuropsychiatry 2010; 47: 328-32)

The Social Sciences , 2013,
Abstract: This study examines the effects of family support, frequency of the anxiety, factors decreasing and increasing test anxiety and sex on the test anxiety levels of 8th graders residing in ankiri, Turkey and preparing for the Secondary Education Student Selection and Placement Test. A total of 500 randomly selected students constituted the sample of the study. Their test anxiety levels were measured by using the "Test Anxiety Inventory" developed by Spielberger and adapted to Turkish by ner. Other information about students was collected through the "Student Introduction Form". In order to discover whether student scores on the inventory differed with respect to the variables, the data was analyzed by one-way variance analysis and t-test. When the difference was found to be meaningful, Post Hoc Test (Bonferroni Test) was used to determine the group causing the difference. The analysis showed that those who said they did not receive support from their families in overcoming the anxiety, who always felt anxious during testsand whose anxiety was exacerbated by their friends were experiencing higher levels of test anxiety. Inversely, data from those who were not experiencing high levels of anxiety showed that the most important factor for them was spending time with their family members. The study ends with suggestions for children, families, educators and researchers.

Trakya Universitesi Tip Fakultesi Dergisi , 2002,
Abstract: Manual therapy has been used in the treatment of pain and dysfunction of spinal and peripheral joints for more than a hundred years. Manual medicine includes manipulation, mobilization, and postisometric relaxation techniques. The aim of manual therapy is to enhance restricted movement caused by blockage of joints keeping postural balance, restore function and maintain optimal body mechanics. Anatomic, biomechanical, and neurophysiological evaluations of the leucomotor system is essential for safe and effective applications of manual therapy. Serious complications may occur unless manipulation techniques are performed by licensed and specialized physicians who are competent in identifying indications and contraindications, and in choosing the proper technique. In this review, the concept of manual medicine and applications of manual therapy are revisited.

Journal of Kirsehir Education Faculty , 2005,
Abstract: It has been emphasized that integrated education , which is identified as the form of education in which the handicapped children are educated in the school of normally developing children, is useful in many ways both for the handicapped child and for his/her environment. However, a set of studies have to be made for this. These studies are described as preparing parents, teachers , normally developing children , handicapped children and the school staff for integrated education. In addition, for the integrated education to be effective, it is necessary that the individualstaking part in this practice should form a network of communation.Because of these reasons, it has been aimed tosecure that the necessary importance is given to this subject.
