Abstract: The present study was initiated in the context of increasing demand for imparting sex education to adolescent children. This study was an attempt to understand the attitude of teachers about sex education to their adolescent children. The participants of the study was a randomly chosen one consisting of 75high school and 75 higher secondary teachers of different school belongs to the age group of 25 to 55 years. The variable was measured using A Measure of Attitude towards Sex Education. The study concluded that there was no difference in the attitude of high school and higher secondary teachers and both of them have the same attitude of providing sex education to their students.

Abstract: This paper proposes a novel method based on statistical tests of hypotheses, such as F-ratio and Welch’s t-tests. The input query image is examined whether it is a textured or structured. If it is structured, the shapes are segregated into various regions according to its nature; otherwise, it is treated as textured image and considered the entire image as it is for the experiment. The aforesaid tests are applied regions-wise. First, the F-ratio test is applied, if the images pass the test, then it is proceeded to test the spectrum of energy, i.e. means of the two images. If the images pass both tests, then it is concluded that the two images are the same or similar. Otherwise, they differ. Since the proposed system is distribution-based, it is invariant for rotation and scaling. Also, the system facilitates the user to fix the number of images to be retrieved, because the user can fix the level of significance according to their requirements. These are the main advantages of the proposed system.

Abstract: Aluminum Metal Matrix Composites (MMCs) sought over other conventional materials in the field of aerospace, automotive and marine applications owing to their excellent improved properties. These materials are of much interest to the researchers from few decades. These composites initially replaced Cast Iron and Bronze alloys but owing to their poor wear and seizure resistance, they were subjected to many experiments and the wear behavior of these composites were explored to a maximum extent and were reported by number of research scholars for the past 25 years. In this paper an attempt has been made to consolidate some of the aspects of mechanical and wear behavior of Al-MMCs and the prediction of the Mechanical and Tribological properties of Aluminum MMCs.
ALCOHOLIC EXTRACT OF ANDROGRAPHIS PANICULATA AS CORROSION INHIBITOR ON STAINLESS STEEL IN NATURAL SEA WATER ENVIRONMENT

Abstract: The inhibition efficacy of Andrographis paniculata leaves extract on the corrosion of stainless steel in Natural sea water environment has been studied by mass loss measurements at various time and temperature. The inhibition efficiency is markedly higher in Natural sea water environment with addition of Andrographis paniculata leaves extract compared with those in the inhibitor free solution. The inhibition efficiency increased with increase of inhibitor concentration but decreased with rise in temperature and exposure time. Corrosion inhibition may be due to the spontaneous physical adsorption of the plant constituents on the surface of stainless steel. Experimental data fitted with the Langmuir and Temkin adsorption isotherms. The corrosion product in the presence and absence of alcoholic extract of the inhibitor on stainless steel surface is analysed by UV and IR studies
On Normal -Ary Codes in Rosenbloom-Tsfasman Metric

Abstract: The notion of normality of codes in Hamming metric is extended to the codes in Rosenbloom-Tsfasman metric (RT-metric, in short). Using concepts of partition number and -cell of codes in RT-metric, we establish results on covering radius and normality of -ary codes in this metric. We also examine the acceptability of various coordinate positions of -ary codes in this metric. And thus, by exploring the feasibility of applying amalgamated direct sum method for construction of codes, we analyze the significance of normality in RT-metric. 1. Introduction Covering properties of codes have unique significance in coding theory, and covering radius, one of the four fundamental parameters, of a code is important in several respects [1]. Considering the fact that it is a geometric property of codes that characterizes maximal error correcting capability in the case of minimum distance decoding, covering radius had been extensively studied by many researchers (see, e.g., [2, 3] and the literature therein) especially with respect to the conventional Hamming metric. In fact, it has evolved into a subject in its own right mainly because of its practical applicability in areas such as data compression, testing, and write-once memories and also because of the mathematical beauty that it possesses. More on covering radius can be found in the monograph compiled by Cohen et al. [4]. In order to improve upon the bounds on covering radius, various construction techniques that use two or more known codes to construct a new code were proposed over the last few decades. One such method is direct sum construction which is a basic yet useful construction method. To improve upon the bounds related to covering radius of codes obtained using this method, the notion of normality which facilitates a construction technique known as amalgamated direct sum (ADS) was introduced for binary linear codes by Graham and Sloane in [5]. The same concepts were extended to binary nonlinear codes by Cohen et al. in [6]. Later, Lobstein and van Wee generalized these results to -ary codes [7]. In the present paper, we extend the notion of normality to codes in Rosenbloom-Tsfasman metric (RT-metric, in short). The present work is a generalization of our work on binary codes [8] to -ary case (though the discussed results hold good for codes over any alphabet of size , for simplicity, we have taken it to be the finite field ). Abstract: The aluminum based composites are increasingly being used in the transport, aerospace, marine, automobile and mineral processing industries, owing to their improved strength, stiffness and wear resistance properties. The widely used reinforcing materials for these composites are silicon carbide, aluminum oxide and graphite in the form of particles or whiskers. The ceramic particles reinforced aluminum composites are termed as new generation material and these can be tailored and engineered with specific required properties for specific application requirements. Particle reinforced composites have a better plastic forming capability than that of the whisker or fiber reinforced ones, and thus they have emerged as most sought after material with cost advantage and they are also known for excellent heat and wear resistance applications. In this paper it is aimed to present the experimental results of the studies conducted regarding hardness, tensile strength and wear resistance properties of Al6061-SiC and Al7075-Al2O3 composites. The composites are prepared using the liquid metallurgy technique, in which 2-6 wt. %’age of particulates were dispersed in the base matrix in steps of 2. The obtained cast composites of Al6061-SiC and Al7075-Al2O3 and the castings of the base alloys were carefully machined to prepare the test specimens for density, hardness, mechanical, tribological tests and as well as for microstructural studies as per ASTM standards. The SiC and Al2O3 resulted in improving the hardness and density of their respective composites. Further, the increased %’age of these reinforcements contributed in increased hardness and density of the composites. The microphotographs of the composites studied revealed the uniform distribution of the particles in the matrix system. The experimental density values were agreed with that of the theoretical density values of the composites obtained using the rule of mixture for composites. The dispersed SiC in Al6061 alloy and Al2O3 in Al7075 alloy contributed in enhancing the tensile strength of the composites. The wear factor K obtained using computerized pin on disc wear tester with counter surface as EN31 steel disc (HRC60) and the composite pin as specimens, demonstrated the superior wear resistance property of the composites.

Abstract: Recently C. Ramesha and others have derived a sufficient condition for functions analytic in the unit disc to be starlike. Subsequently M. Nunokowa and others have improved the earlier results of C. Ramesha and others. In this paper we generalise the results of C. Ramesha and others in a different direction and obtain sufficient conditions for $f(z)$ to be close-to-convex in the unit disc $E$.
IMAGA: INTRON MULTIPLE ALIGNMENT USING GENETIC ALGORITHM

Abstract: Multiple sequence alignment (MSA) is one of the multi-dimensional problems in biology. This paper describes a new approach to solve MSA, a NP-hard problem using modified Genetic Algorithm with new mutation operator. A web based tool iMAGA (Intron Multiple Alignment using Genetic Algorithm) is developed for aligning the intron sequences in order to find the pattern. It has two modules (i) iExtractor/ iClassifier which extracts and classifies introns (ii) iAligner/ Pattern Finder which aligns the intron sequences and finds the patterns. iAligner, the core module of the tool aligns any type of sequences (DNA, RNA, Protein & Intron). In this module GA is applied in which the chromosome consists of gap positions. On applying conventional mutation operator leads to problems like repetition and increase in number of gap positions. To overcome theseproblems, a newly designed mutation operator X-Shuffler is proposed.To validate the alignment, the sum-of-pairs score is used to compare iMAGA with widely used tools. The data sets chosen from the standard BaliBASE, SMART and OXBENCH benchmark alignment suite. To validate the pattern obtained using iMAGA tool, the similarity percentage of the pattern is compared with MEME, a widely used motif finder. Dataset of Saccharomyces Cerviceae with 254 intron sequences are used to prove this work. The tool is available at www.imaga.bicpu.edu.in.
