Abstract: this study has as objective to discuss technologies in use in administration of public health's services. the empiric data which this analysis it sketches are based in a professional experience of one of the authors as technical adviser close to government bureau of health of s?o paulo. the practice of management experienced is confronted with proposals of managerial technology brought by merhy; onocko (1997) and articulated to strategies of construction of full subjects starting from the work. the conclusions indicate the need to rethink the managerial technologies in use and they aim new managerial instruments.

Abstract: this paper emphasizes students' learning when facing reality guided by pedagogical investigation. its aim was to systematize the facilities and difficulties perceived by family members receiving health care and to analyze its pedagogical implications in the student learning process in the public health nursing fundamentals and practices course. the study was retrospective, basedon domestic inquiry data resulting from a pedagogical investigation involving undergraduate nursing students in 2006. a data contentanalysis method was carried out together with the perspective of service structure and processes. facilities and difficulties that emerged as essential aspects respectively were the quality of patient-practitioner relationships and the fact that receiving health care took so long due to an excessive demand. these issues corresponded to moments of cognitive capacity mobilization as patients' needs were noticed and the pedagogical practice in the learning process was optimized.

Abstract: this study is about low-risk pregnant women attended by a family health unit. it aims to describe the time resource the health staff invested and to analyze its configuration in the prenatal monitoring process. data were collected from 47 women between 20 and 29 years old, who were attended from 2001 to 2003, in the eastside of s?o paulo city. the pregnant women were classified according to the health care they received: a first group without health problems, a second with early expert intervention and a third with patients needing dental treatment. in the three groups, more time was invested by health professionals with higher education, followed by community health agents during home visits. average total time per pregnant woman was 10 hours for the first group and 12 hours for the second and the third group. the time invested in direct care ranged from 59.40% to 80.51%.
Use and cost of medication in low risk pregnant women

Abstract: the objective of the present study is to assess the use of medication by pregnant women; classify them regarding therapy group and its risk category; and identify the cost of these drugs. the sample is formed by 47 pregnant women, in the 20 to 29 year-old age group, from july 2001 to june 2003, in the city of s?o paulo. a specific instrument was used for data collection in family charts and others from the sistema de informa??o da aten??o básica (primary care system information). average of medications used by pregnant woman was 3.63. iron sulfate was the most commonly used, followed by antibiotics (78.7%). regarding risk category, 34.1% of medications belonged to category b and 16.5% to category c. in the calculation of total costs of care, expenses with medication accounted for 11.13%. we have seen the need for assessing further the criteria for use, especially of medications of category c. the higher costs were related to antimicrobials for the treatment of infections.

Abstract: Las autoras enfatizan el aprendizaje de los alumnos en el enfrentamiento con la realidad orientado por la investigación pedagógica. Se buscó sistematizar las facilidades y las dificultades observadas por los familiares en la atención a la salud y analizar sus implicaciones pedagógicas en el proceso de aprendizaje de los alumnos en la asignatura Fundamentos y Prácticas de Enfermería en Salud Colectiva. El estudio fue retrospectivo, basado en datos de la encuesta domiciliaria producidos en la investigación pedagógica, involucrando a estudiantes de graduación en el 2006. Se adoptó el método de Análisis de los Contenidos de los datos asociados a la visión de estructura y procesos de servicios. Las principales facilidades y dificultades observadas y consideradas como aspectos fundamentales fueron respectivamente la calidad de la relación usuario-profesionales y la demora en la atención a causa del exceso de demanda. Esas temáticas constituyeron momentos de movilización de la capacidad cognitiva de los estudiantes, pues permitieron observar las necesidades de los usuarios y fortificar la práctica pedagógica en el proceso de formación.
Una propuesta metodológica para la apropiación de costos de producción en la atención prenatal

Abstract: brazilian economy nowadays shows that what is most important is for every sector to carefully plan, instead of merely spending finite financial resources. thus, the adequate application of each health budget item has been one of the main goals of health planners and managers. this study aims to present a methodology for the appropriation of production costs in health care to low-risk pregnant women. it also intends to give the basis to the construction of a cost-evaluation methodology that can be used for both research and health planning. this appropriation was based on the scenario of the family health in s?o paulo, brazil. as the brazilian unified health system has a universal covering perspective, the accurate estimate of production costs can contribute to the budget formulation and to the resources programming which seems essential to guarantee the quality of health assistance.

Abstract: pharmacoeconomics is a new discipline, which appeared at the end of the twentieth century, during the eighties, and which has been developing consideralibly since then, especially in the field of system health. its most widespread investigation form has been the economic evaluation of drug therapy, using methods from health-related economics. pharmacoeconomics identifies, measures, and compares costs, outcomes (clinical, economic, humanistic) of programes or specific therapies and determines the best alternative to be used considering the resources invested. thus, the aim of this article has been approaching the guiding principles of pharmacoeconomics, describing the types of analysis and also considering how this discipline could be applied to different segments of society. the pharmacoeconomics, may be, an important instrument in taking decisions, because it introduces economic rationality among professionals in the health-care services, which the objective of complementing their clinic. however, the correct use of words and expressions, and a proper knowledge of methodology are essential prerequisites for both, a correct use and interpretation of the investigations.

Abstract: nowdays influence of informatization in education is an irreversible reality. this situation obligate us to reconsider the tradicional teaching - learning method. face that the informatic commission of eeusp developed ari exploratory - descriptive study of undergraduate nursing students relating to knowledge of informatic resourses and habilities on it. the results revealed that there is a straight relationship between time of use and hability on using computer. the acquirement of knowlendges, until now, occurs independently of institutional policy. it permitted perceive the significance of informatization on teaching nursing and that teaching institutions need to adapt its educational methodology to the new technology.
Recursos humanos na aten??o básica: investimento e for?a propulsora de produ??o

Abstract: the present study describes the composition, the qualification, the salary investment, the workforce produce, and discusses users' accessibility in terms of time at basic health units (bhus). the study was performed at two bhus from january to december 2008, and developed by analyzing administrative documents. in both, the composition of professionals according to education level revealed: 21% with a university degree, 27% with a secondary education, and50% with a primary education; showing a positive salary variation. the medical and nursing conducts were the majority at both. the production indicators confirmed: 25 and 37 min/person/month for accessibility, respectively for bhu a and b; r$ 8.43 and r$ 12.11/person/month for the salary investment at both bhus, and 0.07 appointments/person/month at both bhus. the professionals' available time is scarce compared to the potential of the demand. the production indicated an opportunity of care < 1 per person/month at a reduced cost.
Access to pre-natal care and cervical cancer prevention action among women from Brazilian Landless Workers Movement

Abstract: this is a qualitative research that aimed to investigate brazilian landless workers movement women's access to pre-natal care and cervical cancer prevention. interviews were done in 2005 with five women in the city of cajamar, brazil. the thematic analysis of content made it possible to evidence that access barriers such as territorial delimitation and geographical distance let women use false addresses as mechanisms to receive care. pap smear tests were performed only during pregnancy. health care provided for these women was fragmented and they received care solely because of their reproductive condition. access to health services must be understood as continuous and complete assistance in all phases of a woman's life and they consist of a challenge to reach rural women. improving access to information and education for these women corresponds to the possibility of exercising the universal right of access to health care based on the principle of equity.
