Identification of Patients at High Cardiovascular Risk

Abstract: Objective: To identify individuals at high cardiovascular risk (CVR) to check for an additional estimate of CVR with the use of the ESH/ESC Guidelines (2003, 2007) in patients earlier classified as being at low and moderate risk on SCORE . Material and methods: The study included 600 people (155 men and 445 women) with low and moderate cardiovascular risk on the SCORE scale. All patients were examined with duplex scanning of the carotid arteries (DSCA) to the determined of the thickness of the intima – media (IMT), the presence of atherosclerotic plaques (ASP); it has also been performed sphygmographic computer (SC) with automatic estimation of brachial-ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV), biochemical analysis of blood lipid spectrum. Results: The frequency of ASP was 59.5% (357 out of 600), and a thickening of thecomplex "intima-media" (IMT)> 0.9 mm was detected in only 5% of the cases (28 persons out of 600), that indicated a slight contribution to the magnitude of the risk of such parameters as the IMT. The total number of patients with signs of preclinicallesions of the arterial wall (the presence of ASP and/or increased baPWV) was 337 (56% of 600). Our results showed that the presence of subclinical atherosclerosis is in itself a risk factor. Conclusion: The usage of instrumental methods of research (DSCA, SC) allowed to detect 32% of individuals with high CVR from 600 previously classified as low and moderate risk on SCORE scale. In our opinion, the proposed algorithm is convenient and easy to use for transfer of the patients into high-risk group.

Abstract: In work was researched the composition and structure of high-alloyed aluminum cast iron ЧЮ22Ш. Crystalization of cast iron ЧЮ22Ш (ЧЮ22Ш standard cast iron) was researched by phase transformation, leaking upon its harden and cooling –down. High-alloyed materials are widely applied as the heat-resistant materials. Overall content of that reaches 30-50% and more. Previous performed researches allowed to optimize the content high-alloyed aluminum cast iron ЧЮ22Ш, to research its structure, casting and operational characteristics, to develop technological mode of melting, casting and thermal / heat treatment casts, to held its industrial examination and to determine perspective direction of its application. However, in present time ability of the aluminum cast iron ЧЮ22Ш is being used not sufficiently.
Calcium deficit in diet as risk factor for osteopenic syndrome in pregnant women of young age

Abstract: The study features of bone tissue mineral density and their correlation with bloodlevels of calcium, magnesium and non-organic phosphorus in young pregnantwomen. Clinical and ambulatory examination of 120 pregnant women of ages 16-25 was made. Estimation of bone tissue mineral density and blood levels ofcalcium, phosphorus and magnesium was performed during the pregnancy stageof 12 to 28 weeks. Among young pregnant women during II trimester, rate ofosteopenic syndrome amounts to 17.5%, including osteoporosis of 1.7%.Development of osteopenic syndrome is attributed to general blood calciumdeficiency. Development of osteopenic syndrome in young pregnant women isassociated with decreased dietary consumption of calcium (owing to exclusion ofmilk products). Bone tissue mineral density is directly correlated with bloodplasma levels of calcium.
Star-plus-wormhole systems with two interacting scalar fields

Abstract: We study static, spherically symmetric mixed configurations with a nontrivial (wormhole) spacetime topology provided by the presence of two interacting ghost scalar fields. Wormhole is assumed to be filled by a perfect relativistic neutron fluid modeled by a polytropic equation of state. For such mixed configurations, we find regular, asymptotically flat general relativistic solutions. It is shown that the maximum of the fluid density is always shifted from the center, and the resulting configurations represent, in general, double-throat systems.

Abstract: Our comprehensive study of the endometrium (hysteroscopic, morphological, and immunological research of genital infections) of patients with reproductive disorders has revealed a high frequency (73.8%) of hyperplastic processes of endometrium (endometrial hyperplasia, polyps), also in the most cases (73 8%) - infection of the endometrium with a predominance of microbial associations (78.6%) and mycoplasma infections (33.2%).

The availability of polymetallic ores is getting leaner in grade and is larger but inferior in volumes than in the past, making the extraction of copper, nickel and other non-ferrous metals metallurgically more difficult to produce. The standard technologies, including enrichment and concentration, do not provide methods for obtaining monometallic concentrates and high extraction of metals into the commercial product. Pyrometallurgical processing of large volumes of poor raw materials is not economical and is complicated from the technological point of view. Conditions of chemical enrichment of poor natural materials have been studied with the use of technology of salt exchange leaching. The main impurity in sulfide ores of nonferrous metals is iron present in the forms of pyrite and pyrrhotite and the properties of chemical enrichment for nickel in pyrite concentrates has been investigated in this work. On the basis of thermodynamic analysis carried out with the use of Potential-pH Pourbaix’s Diagrams, it has been established that, with the use of nickel salt, it is possible to leach iron sulfides from ores. Based on the study of the mechanism and kinetics of the process of dissolution of iron sulfides with nickel salts, it was established that during the dissolution, the chemical composition and thermodynamic characteristics of the dissolved iron sulfides change—the residues from leaching are enriched with iron sulfides that are rich in sulfur and also result with elemental sulfur formation. Enrichment of leaching residues with sulfide iron with increased sulfur content and formation on the surface of nickel sulfide leads to increase of diffusional resistances and the process is limited by the velocity of mass transfer. To increase the velocity of the process and completeness of the reaction, it is necessary to activate the process, in particular, by grinding the solid phase.

A Combinatorial Framework for Designing (Pseudoknotted) RNA Algorithms

Abstract: We extend an hypergraph representation, introduced by Finkelstein and Roytberg, to unify dynamic programming algorithms in the context of RNA folding with pseudoknots. Classic applications of RNA dynamic programming energy minimization, partition function, base-pair probabilities...) are reformulated within this framework, giving rise to very simple algorithms. This reformulation allows one to conceptually detach the conformation space/energy model -- captured by the hypergraph model -- from the specific application, assuming unambiguity of the decomposition. To ensure the latter property, we propose a new combinatorial methodology based on generating functions. We extend the set of generic applications by proposing an exact algorithm for extracting generalized moments in weighted distribution, generalizing a prior contribution by Miklos and al. Finally, we illustrate our full-fledged programme on three exemplary conformation spaces (secondary structures, Akutsu's simple type pseudoknots and kissing hairpins). This readily gives sets of algorithms that are either novel or have complexity comparable to classic implementations for minimization and Boltzmann ensemble applications of dynamic programming.
