Abstract: O artigo parte do reconhecimento que a forma o (Bildung) encontra-se em crise, gerando transforma es em todo o sistema educacional. A crise, de natureza sócio-política, projeta novas perguntas sobre as condi es de possibilidade da forma o e a rela o homem-natureza (crise ecológica). Na análise dessa crise, assume relevancia o processo de seculariza o, suas metamorfoses simbólicas (o deslocamento do sagrado ao profano) e as repercuss es na política, em especial, para o Estado nacional. Conclui pela impossibilidade de pensar a forma o sem a autocompreens o dos profundos efeitos causados pelos la os internos gerados em tal processo de seculariza o, que desloca elementos do sagrado ao profano, como um modo de manter vínculo social.
Orographic effects on convective precipitation and space-time rainfall variability: preliminary results

Abstract: Inherent uncertainties in short-range quantitative precipitation forecasts (QPF) from the high-resolution, limited-area numerical weather prediction model DMI-HIRLAM (LAM) are addressed using two different approaches to creating a small ensemble of LAM simulations, with focus on prediction of extreme rainfall events over European river basins. The first ensemble type is designed to represent uncertainty in the atmospheric state of the initial condition and at the lateral LAM boundaries. The global ensemble prediction system (EPS) from ECMWF serves as host model to the LAM and provides the state perturbations, from which a small set of significant members is selected. The significance is estimated on the basis of accumulated precipitation over a target area of interest, which contains the river basin(s) under consideration. The selected members provide the initial and boundary data for the ensemble integration in the LAM. A second ensemble approach tries to address a portion of the model-inherent uncertainty responsible for errors in the forecasted precipitation field by utilising different parameterisation schemes for condensation and convection in the LAM. Three periods around historical heavy rain events that caused or contributed to disastrous river flooding in Europe are used to study the performance of the LAM ensemble designs. The three cases exhibit different dynamic and synoptic characteristics and provide an indication of the ensemble qualities in different weather situations. Precipitation analyses from the Deutsche Wetterdienst (DWD) are used as the verifying reference and a comparison of daily rainfall amounts is referred to the respective river basins of the historical cases.

Higher Homotopies in a Hierarchy of Univalent Universes

Abstract: For Martin-Lof type theory with a hierarchy U(0): U(1): U(2): ... of univalent universes, we show that U(n) is not an n-type. Our construction also solves the problem of finding a type that strictly has some high truncation level without using higher inductive types. In particular, U(n) is such a type if we restrict it to n-types. We have fully formalized and verified our results within the dependently typed language and proof assistant Agda.
Uniform Fibrations and the Frobenius Condition

Abstract: We introduce and study the notion of a uniform fibration in categories with a functorial cylinder. In particular, we show that in a wide class of presheaf categories, including simplicial sets and cubical sets with connections, uniform fibrations are the right class of a natural weak factorization system and satisfy the Frobenius property. This implies that pushforward along a uniform fibration preserves uniform fibrations. When instantiated in simplicial sets, this result gives a constructive counterpart of one of the key facts underpinning Voevodsky's simplicial model of univalent foundations, while in cubical sets it extends some of the existing work on cubical models of type theory by Coquand and others.

Abstract: The production of environment friendly green fuels is based on energy from renewable sources. Among the renewable sources, wind power is a very growing power technology. An example which has been discussed very widely is hydrogen which is an ideal fuel for a fuel cell. Hydrogen is the energy of the future. It will be used as energy carrier as well as reactant to produce green fuels, like methane which is easier to handle. Direct coupling of a High Temperature Steam Electrolyser (HTSE) with a wind turbine can be used to generate hydrogen. Indeed performing the electrolysis process at high temperatures offers the advantage of achieving higher efficiencies compared to the conventional water electrolysis. The hydrogen produced can be then reacted with the CO2 content of biogas to form methane as green fuel. Thus, the concept presented in this paper illustrates the potential of the HTSE technology coupled with a wind turbine, this system being combined with biogas in a methanation unit. Developing scenarios and flow sheets and using mass and energy balance, the technical performance of the concept is investigated. A plant capacity of 10 MWel is considered. An annual production of 1104 metric tons per year (Mt/a) hydrogen and thus of 5888 Mt/a methane is reached. The overall plant efficiency is calculated to be 38%. The combination of wind power and biogas offers thus many advantages which can facilitate the penetration of the wind resource and the progression to the hydrogen economy.

Abstract: The transformation of the energy supply needs further development of energy storage technologies in order to integrate the fluctuating renewable energy. The conversion of renewable wind power into green methane offers a technical approach with the necessary storage and transport capacities. Thus, the concept of Power-to-Gas which is illustrated here by the coupling of wind energy with a High Temperature Steam Electrolyser (HTSE) and a methanation unit enabling the production of green fuel like hydrogen and methane is presented is this paper. In fact, hydrogen can be used as energy carrier as well for the production of green fuels, like methane which is simpler to store and to transport and which can be thus used as storage medium for the stabilization of the electrical power supply as well as fuel for transport and heat sector. Its production using high temperature electrolysis is able to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions if performed with renewable resources. This is the case if the electricity needed for the HTSE comes from a wind turbine and the CO2 needed for the methanation step comes from biogas. For such a plant, the location and the boundary conditions have a great importance. Thus, this study considers the coupling of a HTSE with a wind turbine and a methanation reactor, and focuses about the site selection, depending of the geographical and economic considerations. The study is limited first to the European area. Schleswig-Holstein is found as a very good location for this plant. It is one of the regions with the largest wind reserves in Germany. This region has also available a lot of biogas and meets all the other necessary requirements.
