Abstract: Se presenta una revisión de los modelos teóricos, instrumentos e investigaciones sobre el tema de la aculturación y de los estudios relacionados con los procesos de inserción de los inmigrantes en la sociedad de acogida, en los últimos veinte a os. Se observa la evolución de los modelos explicativos y de las nuevas tendencias paradigmáticas en esta área. Se analizan las dimensiones de la evaluación utilizadas en los instrumentos de aculturación. Se hace una revisión de los estudios aculturativos aplicados al ámbito de la salud, educación y trabajo

Abstract: the present study aims to identify how immigrant children differ from their non-immigrant peers, concerning social competence, on public and private schools of porto alegre (brazil). after translation, adaptation and reliability analysis of the instrument revised class play, was applied on 32 immigrant children from different countries, who were living and studying on regular classes, as well as their classmates (a total of 575 participant children). at the instrument social-demographical questions were added, with the objective of better describe the group?s profile. the data indicates a perception that the immigrant children were more isolated, less aggressive and less sociable than their nonimmigrant peers. such data contrasts with the perception of sociability that the immigrant children had about themselves.
Inmigración y escuela: un análisis sociométrico de la competencia social infantil percibida

Abstract: Esta investigación ilustra cómo ni os inmigrantes y no inmigrantes se diferencian de sus pares, en cuanto a la competencia social, en escuelas de Porto Alegre, en el Sur de Brasil. Después de traducción, adaptación y análisis de fidedignidad y validez del instrumento (Revised Class Play), este ha sido aplicado a 32 ni os estudiantes, en clases regulares, inmigrantes de diferentes países; así como, en los demás ni os de sus clases (543, totalizando 575 ni os participantes). Además, se ha realizado una identificación de carácter socio-demográfico entre los participantes, con el objetivo de conocer las características de los grupos. El análisis indica que hay una percepción del grupo de ni os inmigrantes como más aislado; menos agresivo y menos sociable, por parte de sus pares no inmigrantes. Tales datos contrastan con la percepción de sociabilidad por parte de los mismos ni os inmigrantes.

Abstract: O presente estudo visa identificar como crian as imigrantes s o diferenciadas de seus pares n o imigrantes, no tocante à competência social, em escolas públicas e privadas de Porto Alegre. Após tradu o, adapta o e análises de fidedignidade e validade do instrumento Revised Class Play, foi aplicado em 32 crian as imigrantes de diferentes países residentes e estudando em classes regulares, assim como em seus colegas de classe (543, perfazendo um total de 575 crian as participantes). Ao instrumento foram adicionadas perguntas de cunho sociodemográfico, a fim de melhor descrever o perfil dos grupos. Os dados da análise indicam haver uma percep o do grupo imigrante como mais isolado; menos agressivo e menos sociável, por parte de seus pares n o imigrantes. Tais dados contrastam com a percep o de sociabilidade por parte dos próprios imigrantes.

Abstract: O presente estudo visou iniciar uma linha de investiga o sobre um grupo vulnerável e cada dia mais presente, como os imigrantes econ micos e refugiados. Conhecer quem s o, onde est o, como se organizam, quais os impactos da imigra o nas suas vidas, na saúde, nas rela es interpessoais, nas atitudes aculturativas, assim como nas dificuldades e estratégias de enfrentamento dos problemas. A pesquisa desenvolvida no decorrer de quatro anos (2000-2003), teve duas etapas: uma qualitativa e, a seguir, outra quantitativa. Na qualitativa foram entrevistadas seis familias de vários países hispano-americanos, com menos de cinco anos de chegada ao Brasil. Na quantitativa, foi aplicado questionário em 113 imigrantes, de diferentes nacionalidades hispano-americanas. Responderam ao instrumento construido com os indicadores da análise qualitativa e com escalas adaptadas das pesquisas recentes em acultura o. Os dados revelam os fatores positivos e negativos no processo aculturativo, as associa es mais significativas com a saúde, o bem-estar psicológico, aspectos psicossociais e sociocognitivos que s o relevantes para programas de interven o.

Abstract: The ethnicity has been discussed thoroughly on psychology and social sciences, by different investigations. However, the ethnicity and the ethnic identity, still do not constitutes a focus of attention in Brazil. The objective of this work is to discusse the themes regarding the ethnicity, presenting the results of a research developed among students, immigrants and not-immigrants on Porto Alegre (Brazil). The results present affinity with investigations in other contexts, considering macro-contextual aspects (as the migrations and the globalization) and micro-contextual aspects (the border situation and local history). Was detected an tendency of identity′s hibridization between both groups, indicating an adaptative process by the immigrants and a maintenance of the local ethnic migratory identity roots by the other participants.

Abstract: the purpose of this research has been to evaluate the health and well-being predictors of pregnant adolescents. the work has been developed over a quantitative study of a pattern of 100 adolescents between 3rd and 9th month of pregnancy, who went in for prenatal examination on publics hospitals in porto alegre, brazil. data was colleted with a questionnaire for biodemographical data and the general health questionnaire by golberg, that was apply individuadly, in the waiting room, before the gynacological consult. the examination of data gained was done from descriptive analysis, bivariate analysis and multiple regression analysis. the results showed that the health was strongly related to others variables as age, occupation of partner, and religiousness. therefore it was possible to note that the phase of gestation and the fact of kipping pregnancy instead of having an abortion were expressive predic-tor related to the general health of the pregnant. thus it is imperative to stress the importance of more researches in this area in order to give support to the improvement of programs of intervention and contraception among teenagers.

Abstract: this research is looking into the way professors of private universities see their health. it was used the goldberg’s general health questionnaire (qgs- 60) and a form with biodemographic data that investigated individual variables related to the labor activity. these instruments were used to study the conditions of 161 professors chosen from different areas of study. it was used descriptive and correlational statistics for the data analysis. the study’s results showed that the professors didn’t see any change in their general health; in fact, it is neither better nor worse according to their opinion. and the results also showed that there are some different variables such as sex, religion, work environment and prolonged work hours influencing the professors’ perception of their own health.
Análise fatorial do Questionário de Estilos Parentais (PAQ) em uma amostra de adultos jovens universitários

Abstract: the aim of this study was to investigate the factorial structure of the parental authoritative questionnaire (paq) elaborated by john buri. the stratified sample was composed of 323 male and female private university students. it was used principal components analysis, with oblimin rotation, using the kaiser rule (retention of eigenvalues higher than 1). the analysis showed tree factors with eigenvalues superior than 1. the total of the factors explains 43,96% of the total variance about the parental style construct. the first factor explains 25,70%, the second one, 11,77% and the third one, 6,49%. the tree factors had satisfactory internal consistence. the results suggests positive measure's applications on our reality, but it is necessary the development of future studies concerning this questionnaire in diversified samples.
