Da biodiversidade à biotecnologia: a nova fronteira da informa??o
Albagli, Sarita;
Ciência da Informa??o , 1998, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-19651998000100002
Abstract: this article analyses the recent emergence of biodiversity issue in the context of the decline of a techno-economical paradigme intensive in the use of fuel energy and natural resources and the emergence of a techno-economical paradigme based in the use of information, science and technology in the productive system. in such a context, it is through advanced biotechnologies that biodiversity has its value added in the globalized market, which does not valorize living organisms, but the information they contain.

Informa??o e conhecimento na inova??o e no desenvolvimento local
Albagli, Sarita;Maciel, Maria Lucia;
Ciência da Informa??o , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-19652004000300002
Abstract: this article discusses spatial, social and institutional dimensions involved in the production and sharing of (specially tacit) knowledge that influences local innovative capacity, emphasizing the role of territoriality and social capital. some suggestions are made for the development of parameters and instruments for empirical research, which allow the incorporation of these dimensions in the analysis of local innovative dynamics. the concluding section proposes a research agenda aiming at deepening and elucidating these issues.
Desafios e oportunidades da era do conhecimento
S?o Paulo em Perspectiva , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-88392002000300009
Abstract: this article addresses the need to identify the main characteristics of the information age, as well as to monitor and guide the new standards for accumulating and disseminating knowledge. it further underscores the urgency of developing new policy tools to manage the challenges and enhance the opportunities associated with brazil's entrance into the information age.
An animal cell culture: Advance technology for modern research  [PDF]
Rajeev Nema, Sarita Khare
Advances in Bioscience and Biotechnology (ABB) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/abb.2012.33030
Abstract: At the present time animal cell culture is more significant and multifarious application tool for current research streams. A lot of field assorted from animal cell culture such: stem cell biology, IVF technology, cancer cell biology, monoclonal antibody production, recombinant protein production, gene therapy, vaccine manufacturing, novel drug selection and improvement. In this review conclude animal cell culture as well as its requirements

The Heavenly Cow Rupan and the Festival of Ceremonial Torture Gai-Goheri: Myth, Rituals and Sacrifice among the People of the Bhil Tribe of Western India

Folklore : Electronic Journal of Folklore , 2010,
Abstract: Gai-Goheri, the festival of ceremonial torture, is a popular ritualamong the people of the Bhil tribe of Western India. Beliefs and myths of this festival play an important role in forming a series of rituals, which include not only the buttock-burning of the cattle but also their decorations and worshipping. The ritual, in which the villagers, while in religious mood, prostrate before hundreds of running cattle and get seriously hurt, is the climax of the festival.Villagers then inhale the smoke of burning dhup (perfumed sawdust), dance and drink liquor in a state of trance.This article makes a serious attempt to analyse the festival of ceremonial torture, as well as the associated rituals, along with the related mythological story of the cow named Rupan, which has presented a pragmatic charter of the primitive faith, vouching for the efficacies of the festival. The socio-economic system of the tribe has also helped in making the entire celebration amply adaptable even today.

A Wavelet Based Approach for Compression of Color Images
Sarita Kumari
International Journal of Modern Education and Computer Science , 2013,
Abstract: The use of color in image analysis and compression is becoming more and more popular. The high quality color images are in demand, but the bandwidth and power resources are limited, this shows the requirement of effective color image compression algorithm which is suitable to human visual system. However most of the existing algorithms are designed for gray scale visual information. In this work a unique wavelet based approach is proposed for compression of color images. Wavelet families are used to characterize the quality of image by calculating quality estimation parameters, which are, peak signal to noise ratio, energy retained, entropy and redundancy. The entropy calculations are done using color histogram and coding programme is developed for estimation of PSNR, ER and redundancy of the compressed image. The results are analyzed and a set of criteria is determined for the acceptability of coding algorithm. Results show that Biorthogonal wavelet filter outperforms the orthogonal one in quality of compressed image but the orthogonal filter is more energy preserving.

Abstract: Like other genres the folk tales of any society reflect emotions, needs, conflicts and other aspects of human psyche, that people acquire as a result of growing up in a specific culture. Folk tales is probably the most crystallised and apt expression of human thoughts. Study of folk tales prevalent in a society helps to understand the common universal elements on the one hand and certain characteristic traits specific to that society on the other.The present article is based on an attempt to analyse some of the popular folk-tales of Bihar.
