Solu??o nutritiva e composi??o mineral de três espécies de menta cultivadas no sistema hidrop?nico

Abstract: the intention of this study was to determine the levels and accumulation of nutrients in three mentha species and to test the performance of the nutrient solution for the growth of mint, obtained from previous data of dry matter production and quantity of nutrients extracted by m. arvensis, in nft (nutrient film technique) hydroponic system. the research was carried out at the departament of fitotecny, universidade federal de santa maria (ufsm), rs, brazil, from october to december. a completely randomized design was used with three treatments (plant organs) and five replications. stakes of matrix plants rooted in phenolic foam for 20 days in a nursery, being then transferred to final production gullies. the plants were harvested at 62 (m. arvensis), 69 (m. x gracilis) and 76 (m. x piperita var. citrata) days after planting, separeted in parts (roots, stems, leaves) and dried at 70°c for the determination of dry matter and tissue analysis. nitrogen, calcium and potassium were the macronutrients with larger concentration in all plant parts; the micronutrients were iron, manganese and zinc. there was a higher accumulation of macronutrients in the leaves, followed by stems and roots. it was verified that the nutrient solution elaborated guaranteed a high phytomass production without the plants showing visual symptons of deficiency or toxicity of macro and micronutrients.

Abstract: lettuce seeds of deyse and regina cultivars were produced in greenhouse, in hydroponic system, with excelents rendiments per plant and seed quality, when compared to conventional systems, of parcels in field. this results recommend studies in lettuce seeds production in greenhouse.

Abstract: Given the high and increasing lightning incidence over the Southeast of Brazil and the various impacts that this phenomenon generates to society, there is a growing need in predicting its occurrence, in order to minimize its consequences. In this context, this work presents the development of a methodology for the projection of lightning in the State of S?o Paulo (Southeastern Brazil), using the HadGEM2-ES and CSIRO-Mk3.6 models in two IPCC climate change scenarios: RCP4.5 and RCP8.5. Since lightning is not an output variable of climate models, tests were carried out to evaluate the relationship between the observed data of oceanic and atmospheric fields, which are known as outputs of the models, and the lightning from the RINDAT and BrasilDAT detection networks. As result, a correlation of 0.84 was obtained. In the projections, it was verified that, while during a large portion of the current climate we observed events of lightning below the average, the future climate reveals the preponderance of anomalously above average events, both in the scenario of intermediate-low emissions (RCP4.5) and in the scenario of high emissions (RCP8.5), suggesting a change in the pattern of the lightning incidence in the State of S?o Paulo.

Abstract: this study was carried out to establish the experimental design and sample size for hydroponic lettuce (lactuca sativa) crop under nutrient film technique. the experiment was conducted in the laboratory of hydroponic crops of the horticulture department of the federal university of santa maria. the evaluated traits were plant weight. under hydroponic conditions on concrete bench with six ducts, the most indicated experimental design for lettuce is randomised blocks for duct transversal plots or completely randomised for bench plot. the sample size for plant weight should be 40 and 7 plants, respectively, for a confidence interval of mean percentage (d) equal to 5% and 20%.

Abstract: the experiment on the different types of lettuce seeds, and the effects of light and temperature occured in the didactic laboratory of researches in seeds, of santa maria federal university, brazil. elisa, regina and rainha de maio, were selected and tested under the tempreatures of 20°c; 25°c; 30°c; 35°c; 20-30°c, for establish a bifactorial experiment separately conducted, with and without light. the substratum was used on paper in gerbox, with four repetitions of 100 seeds for treatment. the selected light conditions were 8 hours of light and 16 hours of darkness, for every day. for the condition without light an aluminum paper was placed over the gerboxes. the evaluations of plant size and first germination were made in the fourth day and the final percentage of germination, in the seventh day. it was observed that without light, the lower the temperature the more plants germanated. when tested with light it was found that with elisa and regina, the tempurature had no effect except at 35o, in which germination was impeded. in conclusion, exist influence of lettuce genotypes in physiological quality seeds. the light is a limiter factor in germination. within the tested temperatures, it was found that 20oc was the best for the three cultivars. in presence of light, the plants initial development occured within a wide strip of temperature (20°c to 30°c). temperature of 35°c cause secondary dormancy in lettuce seeds.

Abstract: the purpose of this research was to define the centesimal composition of six lettuce cultivars (aurora, brisa, lívia, mimosa, regina and ver?nica) using four nutrient solutions. the experimental design was carried out in santa maria, rs, brazil, consisting of entirely randomized subdivided parcels. the used spacing was 0.18 m between array and 0.25 m among plants. it was observed that the ueda solution should not be used for the lettuce production in nft system, due to the high dry mass production and, consequently, high caloric value, content of lipids and fibers, depreciating the quality of the final product, in spite of its low nitrate content. the lettuce production in the nft system using the castellane-araújo, furlani and bernardes solutions maintained the nutricional quality (protein, ethereal extract and fiber, mineral residue contents) equivalent to the lettuce produced in soil, but presenting smaller caloric value. therefore, the hydroponic lettuce is a healthy food for maintaining and improving its centesimal composition for being a product of low caloric value, easy cleaning and high durability.

Abstract: O experimento foi conduzido em casa de vegeta o do Departamento de Fitotecnia, na Universidade Federal de Santa Maria, com o objetivo de avaliar a eficiência da aplica o de zinco nas sementes da cultivar de arroz irrigado BRIRGA 410 e em sete amostras de solo, sobre altura de planta, número de afilhos e de panículas, massa fresca e seca da parte aérea e teor de zinco na massa seca da parte aérea das plantas de arroz. O delineamento experimental utilizado foi um bifatorial 4 x 7 em blocos ao acaso, com três repeti es. Utilizou-se vaso de lat o pintado, revestido com saco plástico, com 3,0 kg de cada solo. Os tratamentos com zinco constaram da aplica o na semente (100 g ha-1 Zn) tendo como fonte ZnSO4.7H2O (22,73% de Zn), no solo (5,0 kg ha-1 Zn) sendo a fonte Zincodur (28% de Zn), as duas formas de aplica o combinadas e a testemunha sem zinco. Os resultados evidenciaram que n o houve diferen a estatística significativa nos tratamentos com zinco aplicado em três classes de solo e no tratamento de semente, sobre o crescimento das plantas, com exce o da variável teor de zinco na massa seca da parte aérea que foi superior para os tratamentos com zinco no solo e na semente + solo. O solo Vacacaí (PLANOSOLO HIDROMóRFICO Eutrófico arênico), originário de S o Gabriel (RS), destacou-se dentre os demais nas variáveis de números de afilhos, massa fresca e seca da parte aérea e teor de zinco na massa seca da parte aérea, pelo fato de apresentar originariamente teor mais elevado de zinco.AbstractThis experiment was conducted in the greenhouse of the Department of Plant Science, at the Federal University of Santa Maria, to evaluate the efficiency of application of zinc on the seeds of irrigated rice cultivar BR- IRGA 410 and on seven soil samples. Plant height, number of tillers, and panicle, fresh and dry shoot and zinc content in dry mass of shoots were evaluated. The experimental design used was a factorial 4 x 7 in randomized blocks with three replications. It was used brass pot which was lined with plastic bag, and filled with 3.0 kg of soil. Zinc treatments were applied in the seed (100 g ha-1 Zn) with the source ZnSO4.7H2O (22.73% Zn), soils (5.0 kg ha-1 Zn) being the source Zincodur (28% Zn), the two forms of combined application and control without zinc. The results showed no statistically significant difference in treatment with zinc for different soil types, except for the variable zinc content in shoot dry mass was higher for treatments with zinc in soil and seed plus soil. Abstract: O objetivo do presente trabalho foi determinar a composi o centesimal de seis cultivares de alface (Aurora, Brisa, Lívia, Mimosa, Regina e Ver nica) utilizando quatro solu es nutritivas em Santa Maria, RS. Foi utilizado o delineamento experimental inteiramente casualizado com parcelas subdivididas. O experimento constou de oito bancadas, duas para cada solu o nutritiva, sendo que cada bancada continha seis canais, um para cada cultivar. O espa amento utilizado foi 0,18 m entre canais e 0,25 m entre plantas no canal. A solu o Ueda, por ter concentra o de nutrientes inicial baixa e por essa n o ter sido mantida, apresentou maior produ o de massa de matéria seca, valor calórico, teores de extrato etéreo e de fibras, depreciando a qualidade do produto final. A alface sob hidroponia (solu es Castellane-Araújo, Furlani e Bernardes) é um alimento altamente saudável por manter ou melhorar sua composi o centesimal (teores de proteína, extrato etéreo, fibra e resíduo mineral) quando comparada com a cultivada no solo, e por ser um produto de baixo valor calórico.
