CRECIMIENTO NORMAL Y PATOLóGICO DEL NI?O Y DEL ADOLESCENTE
Muzzo B,Santiago;
Revista chilena de nutrición , 2003, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-75182003000200003
Abstract: characteristics of growth in children and adolescents are described. factors that influence growth, characteristics of catch up growth fenomena, specially the one produced after a noxa that decrease growth velocity, and secular trend of growth in chile and other countries are presented. the importance of anthropometric measurements for the evaluation of growth and development is described, as well as the definition of growth failure, the tools for their diagnosis and the multiple etiologies of it, are described
INFLUENCIA DE LOS FACTORES AMBIENTALES EN EL TEMPO DE LA PUBERTAD
Muzzo B,Santiago;
Revista chilena de nutrición , 2007, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-75182007000200001
Abstract: genetic and environmental factors influence the timing of puberty. nutritional factors are very important due to their frequency and importance. we review here the factors that influence the timing of puberty, with special reference to nutrition, one of the environmental factors. overweight and malnutrition aspects, the effect of chronic illnesses, the trends in the age of beginning and progression of puberty of girls and boys, the effect of migration and of intrauterine malnutrition over programming are discussed. also the effect of environmental disruptors on puberty like the weather, light and darkness are mentioned. the importance of a proper environment for an adequate expression of genetic potential is reinforced
EVOLUCION DE LOS PROBLEMAS NUTRICIONALES EN EL MUNDO. EL CASO DE CHILE
Muzzo B.,Santiago;
Revista chilena de nutrición , 2002, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-75182002000200001
Abstract: the world has markedly progressed in solving nutritional deficiencies, infantil mortality and infections. in latin america, chile has been the one country that has improved more these indicators, which would explain the fast epidemiological transition that has experimented. nevertheless, the nutritional problems by excess have increased particularly the non- transmissible chronic diseases of the adult, which at the moment constitute the main cause of death in our country. the present challenge is to diminish the prevalence of obesity without increasing malnutrition, which at the moment is a latent disease. in the last years the decrease of statural deficit has been less marked than the increase of the obesity and the decrease of the underweight, which could be due to some micronutrient deficiencies or that it could be visualized when almost no macronutrients deficiences are present

Santiago Muzzo B
CRECIMIENTO NORMAL Y PATOLóGICO DEL NI O Y DEL ADOLESCENTE NORMAL AND ABNORMAL GROWTH OF THE CHILD AND THE ADOLESCENT
Santiago Muzzo B
EL CASO DE CHILE TRENDS OF NUTRITIONAL PROBLEMS IN THE WORLD. THE CASE OF CHILE
Santiago Muzzo B.
The world has markedly progressed in solving nutritional deficiencies, infantil mortality and infections.
