Obten o de água potável utilizando eletrodiálise solar
Sandro César Silveira Jucá
Vértices , 2010,
Abstract: Este artigo apresenta as principais experiências mundiais de instala es de eletrodiálise acionadas por painéis fotovoltaicos e analisa a possível aplica o de tais instala es no Nordeste do Brasil. Obtaining drinking water using solar electrodialysis This paper shows the main worldwide experiments in PV powered electrodialysis plants and analyses possible applications of such systems in the Brazilian Northeast region. The use of PV arrays to power electrodialysis plants for desalination of brackish water from deep wells makes sense in arid and semiarid regions. In such areas there is often an inadequate water and energy supply infrastructure along with favorable levels of solar radiation for electric generation, as is the case of the Brazilian Northeast region.

A Low Cost Concept for Data Acquisition Systems Applied to Decentralized Renewable Energy Plants
Sandro C. S. Jucá,Paulo C. M. Carvalho,Fábio T. Brito
Sensors , 2011, DOI: 10.3390/s110100743
Abstract: The present paper describes experiences of the use of monitoring and data acquisition systems (DAS) and proposes a new concept of a low cost DAS applied to decentralized renewable energy (RE) plants with an USB interface. The use of such systems contributes to disseminate these plants, recognizing in real time local energy resources, monitoring energy conversion efficiency and sending information concerning failures. These aspects are important, mainly for developing countries, where decentralized power plants based on renewable sources are in some cases the best option for supplying electricity to rural areas. Nevertheless, the cost of commercial DAS is still a barrier for a greater dissemination of such systems in developing countries. The proposed USB based DAS presents a new dual clock operation philosophy, in which the acquisition system contains two clock sources for parallel information processing from different communication protocols. To ensure the low cost of the DAS and to promote the dissemination of this technology in developing countries, the proposed data acquisition firmware and the software for USB microcontrollers programming is a free and open source software, executable in the Linux and Windows? operating systems.

Abstract:

This paper is part of a research under enhancement since 2001, in which the main objective is to measure small dynamic displacements by analysis of L1 GPS carrier frequency with 1575.42 MHz—wavelength 19.05 cm, under an adaptive method for collecting data and filtering techniques. This method, named Phase Residual Method (PRM) is based on the frequency domain analysis of the phase residuals resulted from the L1 double difference static data processing of two satellites in almost orthogonal elevation angle. In this work it is proposed to obtain the phase residuals directly from the raw phase observable collected in a short baseline during a limited time span, in lieu of obtaining the residual data file from regular GPS processing programs. In order to improve the ability to detect millimetric displacements, two filtering techniques are introduced. The first one is the autocorrelation that reduces the phase noise with random time behavior. The other one is the running mean to separate low frequency from the high frequency phase sources. Two trials are presented to verify the proposed method and filtering techniques applied. One simulates a 2.5 millimeter vertical GPS antenna displacement and the second using the data collected during a bridge dynamic load test. The results show a good consistency to detect millimetric oscillations from L1 frequency and filtering techniques.
