Bi-objective supply chain problem using MOPSO and NSGA-II

Abstract: The increase competition and decline economy has increased the relevant importance of having reliable supply chain. The primary objective of many supply chain problems is to reduce the cost of services and, at the same time, to increase the quality of services. In this paper, we present a multi-level supply chain network by considering multi products, single resource and deterministic cost and demand. The proposed model of this paper is formulated as a mixed integer programming and we present two metaheuristics namely MOPSO and NSGA-II to solve the resulted problems. The performance of the proposed models of this paper has been examined using some randomly generated numbers and the results are discussed. The preliminary results indicate that while MOPSO is able to generate more Pareto solutions in relatively less amount of time, NSGA-II is capable of providing better quality results.
Simplifying Stochastic Mathematical Models of Biochemical Systems  [PDF]

Stochastic modeling of biochemical reactions taking place at the cellular level has become the subject of intense research in recent years. Molecular interactions in a single cell exhibit random fluctuations. These fluctuations may be significant when small populations of some reacting species are present and then a stochastic description of the cellular dynamics is required. Often, the biochemically reacting systems encountered in applications consist of many species interacting through many reaction channels. Also, the dynamics of such systems is typically non-linear and presents multiple time-scales. Consequently, the stochastic mathematical models of biochemical systems can be quite complex and their analysis challenging. In this paper, we present a method to reduce a stochastic continuous model of well-stirred biochemical systems, the Chemical Langevin Equation, while preserving the overall behavior of the system. Several tests of our method on models of practical interest gave excellent results.

Abstract: The study area that is part of Tarom volcano-plutonic zone which host many hydrothermal base metal deposits located in Zanjan, NW Iran. Understanding the tectonic events that can cause mineralization and hydrothermal alteration are significant factor in assessing the exploration potential of different structures. In this research, hydrothermal alteration such as Iron oxide, argillic, phyllic, and propylitic zones were determined by Spectral Angle Method (SAM) and also lineaments identified by high pass filters and hill-shade DEM techniques on Advanced Space borne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) data. Field studies revealed most alteration and mineralization occurred in NE-SW fractures and control mineralization.
Mental Health and Stressful Life Events in Coronary Heart Disease Patients and Non- Patients

Abstract: "nObjective: "n The main goal of this study is to compare stressful life events and mental health in coronary heart disease (CHD) patients and non-patients. "nMethod: In this research, 120 participants (n=68 male, n= 52 female) were divided into two groups of patients (n=60) and non-patients (n=60). They were selected from Vali Asr Hospital of Meshginshahr (Iran) and completed the General Health Questionnaire (GHQ) and Stressful Life Events Inventory . "nResults: Data was analyzed using independent t-test. The results showed significant differences between CHD patients and non-patients in mental health and stressful life events. CHD patients showed high rates of physical symptoms and anxiety of GHQ . "nConclusion: CHD patients reported more stressful life events. Therefore, it can be inferred that psychological factors are important in coronary heart disease.
Numerical Modelling and Simulation of Sand Dune Formation in an Incompressible Out-Flow  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, we are concerned with computation of a mathematical model of sand dune formation in a water of surface to incompressible out-flows in two space dimensions by using Chebyshev projection scheme. The mathematical model is formulate by coupling Navier-Stokes equations for the incompressible out-flows in 2D fluid domain and Prigozhin’s equation which describes the dynamic of sand dune in strong parameterized domain in such a way which is a subset of the fluid domain. In order to verify consistency of our approach, a relevant test problem is considered which will be compared with the numerical results given by our method.
On Generalized High Order Derivatives of Nonsmooth Functions  [PDF]

Abstract: In this paper, we proposed a Extension Definition to derive, simultaneously, the first, second and high order generalized derivatives for non-smooth functions, in which the involved functions are Riemann integrable but not necessarily locally Lipschitz or continuous. Indeed, we define a functional optimization problem corresponding to smooth functions where its optimal solutions are the first and second derivatives of these functions in a domain. Then by applying these functional optimization problems for non-smooth functions and using this method we obtain generalized first derivative (GFD) and generalized second derivative (GSD). Here, the optimization problem is approximated with a linear programming problem that by solving of which, we can obtain these derivatives, as simple as possible. We extend this approach for obtaining generalized high order derivatives (GHODs) of non-smooth functions, simultaneously. Finally, for efficiency of our approach some numerical examples have been presented.
Investigating the Relationship between Responsibility-Taking and Identity Crisis among One-Child Students  [PDF]

Abstract: The present study has investigated the relationship between responsibility-taking and identity crisis among one-child students. This research is a descriptive-correlational study and the target population comprised all one-child female students of Mashhad secondary schools in the academic year 2014-2015. In this study, multistage cluster sampling method was applied and finally, Region 4, 6 and 7 were randomly selected and 150 students were also randomly chosen according to Morgan table. The research data was collected through California Psychological Inventory (CPI) and Ahmadi identity crisis questionnaire. The obtained information was analyzed by Pearson correlation test and regression. The achieved results indicated that the relationship between responsibility-taking and identity crisis among students is statistically reverse and significant at the level of p < 0.01. In other words, with reducing the identity crisis in students, their responsibility-taking increases. As a result, the main research hypothesis indicating the relationship between responsibility-taking and identity crisis among one-child students of Mashhad secondary schools was confirmed.

Use of propofol as an anesthetic and its efficacy on some hematological values of ornamental fish Carassius auratus

Abstract: The aim of this study was to determine the level of anesthesia attained in Carassius auratus using a propofol bath administration and using values of haematological profile of blood and examinations, to assess the effects of the fish exposure to that anaesthetic. Acute toxicity values of propofol for gold fish were found 96 h LC50 6.353 mg/L, 96 h LC1 2.966 mg/L and 96 h LC99 13.609 mg/L. Time to induce anesthesia in propofol experiment was significantly higher than Clove oil (p < 0.05), but there was no significant difference in recovery time between the experiments. No significant decrease was found in Total RBC, WBC, HCT, MCH, MCV and leukogram indices (p > 0.05). MCHC (%) level of propofol experiment (13.93 +/- 1.36) showed significant (p < 0.05) decrease than Clove oil anesthesia (94.95 +/- 24.50) and control (62.46 +/- 21.90). Hb(g/dl) content (5.20 +/- 0.73) showed decrease in propofol exposure compared with control (15.41 +/- 4.76) and clove oil experiment (25.39 +/- 5.73) (p < 0.05).
