Multi-Branch Fractional Multi-Bit Differential Detection of Continuous Phase Modulation with Decision Feedback  [PDF]

Abstract: Differential detection of continuous phase modulation suffers from significant intersymbol interference. To reduce bit error rate, multi-branch fractional multi-bit differential detection (MFMDD) with decision feed-back is proposed. By introducing decision feedback in multi-bit differential detected signals, severe inter-symbol interference can be removed. Simulation results show that the proposed structure can greatly im-proves the performance compared with MFMDD without decision feedback, and the performance of 9 FMDD is very near to the performance of the coherent detection.
Estimation of Water Environmental Capacity Considering Hydraulic Project Operation in the Xiangyang Reach of the Han River, Central China  [PDF]

Abstract: Using the Xiangyang Reach of the Han River as an example, this paper evaluates the changes of water environmental capacity after the implementation of Cuijiaying Hydro-junction project. The allowable pollutant loads entering the Xiangyang Reach were estimated using two-dimensional steady state water quality model with different data sets. The water environmental capacity has declined in the reservoir area of the Cuijiaying Hydro-junction project during the low-flow period; it is appearing to increase slightly in the upper and lower stream of this reservoir. However, the state of flow may turn into the state of reservoirs flow in the reservoir area, and the changes of hydrological regime may cause the water flow and the nutrient contents suitable for the occurrence of ecological environment problems.
Theoretical Derivation of Thermal Value Equations for Heating Furnaces  [PDF]

Abstract: Based on thermal value theory, the aim of this paper is to deduce the theoretical formulas for evaluating the energy effective utilization degree in technological pyrological processes exemplified by metallurgical heating furnaces. Heat transfer models for continuous heating furnaces, batch-type heating furnaces, and regenerative heating furnaces are established, respectively. By analyzing the movement path of injected infinitesimal heat attached on steel or gas, thermal value equations of continuous, batch-type, and regenerative heating furnaces are derived. Then the influences of such factors as hot charging, gas preheating and intake time of heat on energy effective utilization degree are discussed by thermal value equations. The results show that thermal value rises with hot charging and air preheating for continuous heating furnaces, with shorter intake time when heat is attached on steel or longer intake time when heat is attached on gas for batch-type heating furnaces and that with more heat supply at early heating stage or less at late stage for regenerative heating furnaces.

Abstract: The article proposes a new architecture based on RAID 0 tech in computer science for signal processing field to store high speed data. It is composed of SSD driven by FPGA, called SSD-based RAID on FPGA. This new architecture features high storage rate, mass capacity and small volume, and it is an efficient solution to store high speed data. The article describes the construction of SRF in details, and shows the test result of a demo system based on the architecture.
A Sphere Detection Based Adaptive MIMO Detection Algorithm for LTE-A System  [PDF]

Abstract: An adaptive MIMO detection algorithm for LTE-A system which is based on sphere detection is proposed in this paper. The proposed algorithm uses M-algorithm for reference to remove unreliable constellation candidates before search, and the number of constellation reservation is adaptively adjusted according to SNR. Simulations of LTE-A downlink show that the BER performance of the proposed detection algorithm is nearly the same as maximum likelihood (ML) detection algorithm. However, the complexity is reduced by about 30% compared with full constellation sphere detection.

An HIV model was considered. The parameters of the model are estimated by adjoint dada assimilation method. The results showed the method is valid. This method has potential application to a wide variety of models in biomathematics.

Simulation of Fault Arc Using Conventional Arc Models  [PDF]

Conventional arc models are usually used to research the interaction between switching arc and circuit. It is important to simulate the fault arc for arc flash calculations, choice of electrical equipments and power system protection. This paper investigates several conventional arc models for calculating the fault arcing current. Simulation results show that conventional arc models can be used to simulate the fault arc if the parameters of arc models are given properly. This paper provides the parameters of 5 popular arc models and describes the simulation results of the fault arc.

Analysis of Strategic Emerging Industrial Policies on the Level of Central Government in China  [PDF]

40 samples are selected from the collected China’s strategic emerging industry (SEI) policies on the level of central government from 2010 to 2013, and policy content analysis is applied to conduct a textual and quantitative research on them. Through constructing a two-dimensional analytical framework of “industry development dimension” and “policy support dimension”, this paper makes a statistical analysis on the frequency of certain words counts in China's SEI policies. The results show that China's SEI policies are characterized as focused keywords, innovation as the first key element, excessive planning and insufficiency of demand-based policy.

Abstract: Zr-Sn-Nb-Fe alloys are one of the important directions for continuous improvement of zirconium alloys for high burn-up fuel assemblies. The corrosion resistance of Zr-Sn-Nb-Fe alloys is closely related to the alloying element and water chemical condition. To better understand the effect of Sn on corrosion resistance of Zr-Sn-Nb-Fe alloy, the normal N36 (Zr-1Sn-1Nb-0.3Fe) and low-tin N36 (Zr-0.8Sn-1Nb-0.3Fe) alloy sheets were prepared and tested in static autoclave in both of 0.01 mol/L LiOH and 0.03 mol/L LiOH aqueous solution at 360°C and 18.6 MPa. The characteristics of the microstructure and oxide film of alloys were analyzed by TEM and SEM respectively. It was shown that that the corrosion transition of the normal N36 appears earlier and the weight gain is higher than the low-tin N36 in two corrosive mediums. The cracks paralleling to the interface of oxide/metal are formed in the fracture surface of the oxide film and the micrographs at the oxide film/substrate interface appear uneven morphology. With the increasing of corrosion gain, there are more parallel cracks in oxide film and the uneven morphology at the oxide film/substrate interface is more obvious.
