CONNECTIONS BETWEEN PROFESSOR ELIE CARAFOLI’S ACTIVITY AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY EDUCATION FOCUSING THE PROPULSION SYSTEMS FIELD
Virgil STANCIU,Irina ANDREI
INCAS Bulletin , 2009, DOI: doi: 10.13111/2066-8201.2009.1.2.8
Abstract: The intent of this paper is to reveal other features of Professor Elie Carafoli’s complex personality, his devotion and fully commitment to the development of the aeronautical university education; thefocus on the propulsion systems field was justified by the rapid succession of the political events onthe worldwide stage and the subsequent mission assignment of the aviation as the ultimate weapon.A parallel evolution of the aerospace academic education, within the field of the propulsionsystems, with fully details about the courses and professors was presented. The spiritual legacy ofthe Professor still continues today to drive generations of students to successful careers in aviation:academic education, fabrication, operations, top management
Solutions for decision support in university management
Andrei STANCIU,Mihai FLORIN,Cristina R?DULESCU,Ofelia ALECA
Economia : Seria Management , 2009,
Abstract: The paper proposes an overview of decision support systems in order to define the role of a system to assist decision in university management. The authors present new technologies and the basic concepts of multidimensional data analysis using models of business processes within the universities. Based on information provided by scientific literature and on the authors’ experience, the study aims to define selection criteria in choosing a development environment for designing a support system dedicated to university management. The contributions consist in designing a data warehouse model and models of OLAP analysis to assist decision in university management.
Research Methodologies for Management Information in Romania
Ofelia Aleca,Florin Mihai,Andrei Stanciu,Marinela Vr?ncianu
Theoretical and Applied Economics , 2009,
Abstract: The rocketing trend manifested in the last years in the information system domain has led to a considerable increase of research activity in this field. The purpose of this article is to identify the main research methodologies in management information systems in our country and in European space. Based on our researcha€ s results, we present specific categories for research classification and describe various new trends in scientific publications related to management information. In our research we used empiric methods based on knowledge extraction from databases and archives related to various representative publications in management information field.

Thermoelectric effects in nanostructured quantum wires in the non-linear temperature regime
Anda Elena Stanciu,George Alexandru Nemnes,Andrei Manolescu
Physics , 2014,
Abstract: The thermoelectric voltage of a quantum dot connected to leads is calculated using the scattering R-matrix method. Our approach takes into account a temperature gradient between the contacts beyond the linear regime. We obtain sign changes of the thermopower when varying the temperature or the chemical potential around the resonances. The influence of the coupling strength of the contacts and of the thermoelectric field on the thermoelectric voltage is discussed.
The Univalence Conditions of Some Integral Operators
Laura Stanciu
Abstract and Applied Analysis , 2012, DOI: 10.1155/2012/924645
Abstract: We introduce new integral operators of analytic functions and defined in the open unit disk . For these operators, we discuss some univalence conditions.
PARTICULARITIES CONCERNING THE CREATION AND IMPLEMENTATION OF THE MARKETING MIX IN PUBLIC INSTITUTIONS
Sica STANCIU
Lex et Scientia , 2010,
Abstract: The marketing mix is the essential instrument in implementing marketing in the public sector. This paper brings into evidence the particularities of conceiving, elaborating and applying the marketing mix in public institutions. The particularities of the marketing mix that is applied in public institutions are imposed, on one hand, by the role played by the public institution and the place it occupies in the contemporary society and, on the other hand, by the objectives it defines by its marketing strategy. The tactic by which the marketing strategy is applied refers to the optimum combination of at least four controllable variables (service/product, tariff/price, distribution and promotion) accomplished by the public institution. The analysis of the classic marketing mix components – used in the public institution – allows the underlining of the significant aspects that improve the public institution activity, as well as its image in the future.
Univalence Conditions for a New Integral Operator
Stanciu Laura
Theory and Applications of Mathematics & Computer Science , 2011,
Abstract: In this paper, we study the univalence conditions for a new integral operator defined by Al-Oboudi differential operator. Many known univalence conditions are written to prove our main results.
Technologies, Methodologies and Challenges in Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems
Nicoleta STANCIU
Informatica Economica Journal , 2013, DOI: 10.12948/issn14531305/17.1.2013.12
Abstract: This paper presents an overview of the technologies and the methodologies used in Network Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (NIDPS). Intrusion Detection and Prevention System (IDPS) technologies are differentiated by types of events that IDPSs can recognize, by types of devices that IDPSs monitor and by activity. NIDPSs monitor and analyze the streams of network packets in order to detect security incidents. The main methodology used by NIDPSs is protocol analysis. Protocol analysis requires good knowledge of the theory of the main protocols, their definition, how each protocol works.
The common denominator. Romania and the Nordic countries, 1966-1969
Cezar Stanciu
Revista Romana de Studii Baltice si Nordice , 2012,
Abstract: One of Nicolae Ceau escu’s beliefs was that international security and cooperation could not rely on Cold War bipolarity, but on active involvement from every state in promoting its interests and points of view. In defending such policies, Romania sought not only to affirm its sovereignty in front of Moscow, but also to build bridges towards other countries sharing similar ideas. Starting from the early 1960s, Romania developed a coherent policy towards Nordic Europe, consisting in both economic and political cooperation. The neutrality of countries such as Sweden or Finland was regarded in Bucharest as directed against superpowers bipolarity which served as a common denominator. This paper deals with Romania’s relations in Nordic Europe during the 1960s, investigating the rationalities and factors which contributed to the emergence of constructive cooperation among countries with such different backgrounds.
