Journal of Geographic Information System (JGIS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/jgis.2014.62009
Abstract:

The objective of this work is to propose a semi-automatic methodology for the creation of a semidetailed to detailed watershed’s soil map. This methodological proposal is based on the traditional method (field work and photo interpretation) and on morphometric variables analysis, using data originated from the Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of the Shuttle Radar Topography Mission (SRTM) program. The steps taken through this methodological proposal were the identification of the hydromorphic areas boundaries through interpretation of aerial orthophotographs; the compartmentalization of the relief through color composition techniques using the morphometric variablesslope, altimetry and horizontal curvature; the development of a pedological database based on data gathered in the field; the elaboration of a preliminary soil map based on the compartmentalized relief and on the dataset of the soils sampled in the field; the elaboration and adjustment of the final soil map according to the interpretation of aerial photographs and also the physical and chemical analyses of the soils. This semi-automatic methodology demonstrated improved efficiency in defining the soil units, reducing operation time and subjectivity of the process, thereby contributing to the systematization of soil mapping at watershed level in scale 1:50,000, as well as, promoting better knowledge between the relation of the geomorphic and soil variables in the Brazilian Savanna Cerrado.

Abstract: ganglioglioma are tumors presenting neoplastic glial cells and nerve cells, very rarely found in the pineal region. only eight cases have been previously published in the literature. we present the case of a 14 years-old male patient with a ganglioglioma of the pineal region. the patient was treated surgically by a suboccipital transtentorial approach with complete removal. histopathologic specimens with immunostainning revealed a ganglioglioma grade i. we conclude that these tumors are rare and should be treated surgically aiming total remove. if it is not possible or in case of recorrence the patient should be followed and radiotheraphy could be considered.

Abstract: Os tumores do corpo carotídeo s o pouco frequentes.

Abstract: childhood neuropsychology is a growing scientific area in brazil. regarding cognitive function in infancy, executive function (ef) has been the main focus of several studies because of its importance for and complexity in human cognition and behavior. executive functions can be considered a set of cognitive processes related to control and integration devoted to the execution of goal-directed behaviors. research has shown that these abilities begin in infancy and progressively develop until adulthood. although some studies on ef development in children have already been conducted, our knowledge on this topic is still incipient. because of the relevant role of age in cognition and ef development, the present study investigated whether differences exist between children aged 6 to 12 years concerning their performance on the hayling test-adult version, an instrument that assesses the ef components of initiation and inhibition. pilot data are presented that verify the applicability of this test to children. significant differences were found between comparable age groups only in three of the seven main hayling test scores, suggesting that the adult version may not be appropriate for children, and an adaptation of the test for child assessment is necessary. the study may lead to an initial reflection on the development of these components and thus contribute to improvements in the field of child neuropsychology.

Abstract: This study aimed to assess how the productivity of soybean lines under the conditions ofearly cycle Chapadinha municipality in the state of Maranhao in two consecutive years. Soybeans have greatgenetic diversity and morphology due to the high number of cultivars available, the result of efforts of variousbreeding programs that seek ever more productive genotypes, resistant to pests, diseases and adapted todifferent soil and climatic conditions. We evaluated 22 soybean genotypes of early maturity in terms ofproductivity in a randomized block design in two consecutive years. The strains showed significantdifferences between the two crops, with overall better performance in the first season. The average was foundto be 2160.03 kg ha-1. The lines that stood out were the strains and UFU-01 and UFU-04 with higher incomes.

Abstract: In clinical practice are restricted conditions that no-indicated definitively the breastfeeding. Therefore, this study addresses the objectives: know the sentiments expressed by women with HIV clinical failure to breastfeed; describe the importance of the mother and child contact in breastfeeding, as well as reporting the alternatives encountered by mothers to compensate for the deprivation of this practice. Therefore this research is characterized as descriptive exploratory qualitative in nature. Taking as a sample 10 women who had already passed the period of breast feeding at the breast, using the Reference Center for STD / AIDS in the municipality of Jequié / Ba. The instrument for data collection was the form, which was filled from the signing of the term of Free and Informed Consent built for this purpose. Data analysis was submitted to the technical analysis of the Content of Bardin, from which emerged the categories and subcategories: Feelings (sadness, helplessness, shame, despair, guilt); importance of breastfeeding (prevention of diseases and exchange of affection) and finally, strategy to compensate for the deprivation of breastfeeding (offering more care and attention). Given the foregoing concluded that the HIV positive mothers in addition to carrying this condition throughout his life, which has already lead to a significant blow in their emotions, they had to give up breastfeeding natural - by which time the woman was fully realizes mother - leading the lastimosas express the same experiences, mainly by various understand the benefits of breast milk as much as nutritional immunological and psychological for the baby. This reality serves as incentive for reflection on the part of health professionals to see these women on a holistic and natural in these children as defenceless beings who require more care and attention
