CONOCER: UNA VISIóN EPISTéMICA
SARMIENTO REYES,JUAN CARLOS;
Acta Colombiana de Psicología , 2011,
Abstract: this article examines an epistemic notion of knowledge as opposed to other epistemic visions. for that purpose, it starts by rethinking chisholm's proposal (1977/1982) and highlights the language difficulty to differentiate between to know (that/how) and knowing. it analyzes other notions such as justification, certainty and evidence, and reviews the adjustments proposed by this author to the traditional definition of knowledge. then, it examines luis villoro's approach (1982) in order to study the difference he tries to establish between knowledge and knowing, including the grounds and reasons, the relationship of knowledge with practice and some ethical issues about the justification of beliefs. it emphasizes the need to tackle the problem of the border issue between believing, knowledge and knowing in a different way. the problem of grading the evidence, some issues related to the criterion of truth and other matters are also stressed. finally, concerning the many ethical implications that human knowledge currently has, the need for a social theory of knowledge along with an anthropological support for the same is highlighted.

The Topological Conditions: The Properties of the Pair of Conjugate Tress  [PDF]
Luis Hernandez-Martinez, Arturo Sarmiento-Reyes, Miguel A. Gutierrez de Anda
Journal of Software Engineering and Applications (JSEA) , 2010, DOI: 10.4236/jsea.2010.36059
Abstract: This paper presents some important properties emanating from the pair of conjugate trees. The properties are obtained by resorting to the fundamental loops and cutsets in the circuit topology. The existence of such a pair is one of the conditions for a nonlinear resistive circuit to have one and only one DC solution.
A PURE NODAL-ANALYSIS METHOD SUITABLE FOR ANALOG CIRCUITS USING NULLORS
E. Tlelo-Cuautle,L.A. Sarmiento-Reyes
Journal of applied research and technology , 2003,
Abstract: A novel technique suitable for computer-aided analysis of analog integrated circuits (ICs) is introduced. This technique uses the features of both nodal-analysis (NA) and symbolic analysis, at nullor level. First, the nullor is used to model the ideal behavior of several analog devices, namely: transistors, opamps, OTAs, and current conveyors. From this modeling approach, it is shown how to transform circuits working in voltage-mode to current-mode and vice-versa. Second, it is demonstrated that using nullors, all non-NA-compatible elements can be transformed into NA-compatible ones, this results in a computationally-improved pure-NA method. Third, the computation of fully-symbolic expressions using , is described. It is demonstrated that a symbolic expression gives more insight in the behavior and performance of the circuit. Finally, several examples demonstrate the suitability and appropriateness of the proposed method to be used in education.
An Iterative Decomposed Piecewise-Linear Model Description
Victor Jimenez-Fernandez,Luis Hernandez-Martinez,Arturo Sarmiento-Reyes
Active and Passive Electronic Components , 2009, DOI: 10.1155/2009/824531
Abstract: A model description for the representation of one-dimensional piecewise-linear characteristics is presented. The model can be denoted as a decomposed one, because the independent and dependent variables of the PWL characteristic are treated separately. It is also called iterative, because the particular representation of each segment of the PWL characteristic depends on the value of only one parameter included in the mathematical formulation, it gives the possibility of modeling both, univalued and multivalued PWL characteristics.
Importancia del consumo de hierro y vitamina C para la prevención de anemia ferropénica
Cardero Reyes,Yusimy; Sarmiento González,Rodolfo; Selva Capdesu?er,Ana;
MEDISAN , 2009,
Abstract: the iron deficiency has been pointed out as the most frequent cause of anemia in the world, both in countries with low level of development and in the highly industrialized ones. in cuba, the iron-deficiency anemia constitutes a problem of health that affects fundamentally older infants, adolescents, women in fertile age and pregnant women. the specialized bibliography was reviewed from nutritional elements, balance and iron metabolism to sociocultural aspects that impact direct and indirectly on that condition. what was reviewed and compiled in this article stated rules for an educational intervention, during which the validity of specific actions was demonstrated to face the identified problem.
Mycobacterium tuberculosis: factores de virulencia
Borrero,Reinier; álvarez,Nadine; Reyes,Fátima; Sarmiento,María Elena; Acosta,Armando;
Vaccimonitor , 2011,
Abstract: mycobacterium tuberculosis is the causative agent of tuberculosis, one of the most lethal diseases worldwide. bcg is the only available vaccine for tuberculosis control, but at the same time it fails in the protection from pulmonary tuberculosis, which is the most common and responsible form of dissemination. the identification of virulence factors of the causative organism could help in developing a new vaccine candidate capable of neutralizing the action of these pathogenic determinants. the use of different animal models has allowed to reproduce the stages of the disease and to measure or to quantify the virulence of different circulating strains of m. tuberculosis. gene mutations and other molecular biology techniques have made possible to elucidate the specific genes involved in virulence of this organism, that encodes many complex and different factors.
Estudio cinético de la hidrogenación de trans-cinamaldehído sobre catalizadores de Ir/Nb2O5
Rojas Sarmiento,Hugo Alfonso; Martínez Zambrano,José Jobanny; Reyes,Patricio Alberto;
Revista Facultad de Ingeniería Universidad de Antioquia , 2010,
Abstract: the hydrogenation of trans-cinnamaldehyde was studied over ir/nb2o5 catalysts reduced at 473 k (ltr) and 773 k (htr). the catalysts were characterized by n2 physisorption at 77 k, h2 chemisorption, tpr, and tpd- nh3. kinetic study of trans-cinnamaldehyde over ir/nb2o5 reduced at htr was carried out in n-heptane at hydrogen pressures in the range of 0.48 to 0.98 mpa, the reaction temperatures were 323-363 k, catalyst loadings 0.1 to 0.3 g and cinnamaldehyde concentrations 0.025 to 0.1 m. trans-cinnamaldehyde can be selectively hydrogenated to cinnamyl alcohol although the support acidity leads to the formation of byproducts. a langmuir-hinshelwood model with molecular adsorption of hydrogen non competitive with organic molecules and considering the surface reaction as the rate-controlling step provided the best fit of the experimental data.
