f(R, T, R_μνT^μν) gravity phenomenology and ΛCDM universe
Sergei D. Odintsov,Diego Sáez-Gómez
Physics , 2013, DOI: 10.1016/j.physletb.2013.07.026
Abstract: We propose general f(R,T,R_{\mu\nu}T^{\mu\nu}) theory as generalization of covariant Horava-like gravity with dynamical Lorentz symmetry breaking. FRLW cosmological dynamics for several versions of such theory is considered. The reconstruction of the above action is explicitly done, including the numerical reconstruction for the occurrence of \Lambda CDM universe. De Sitter universe solutions in the presence of non-constant fluid are also presented. The problem of matter instability in f(R,T,R_{\mu\nu}T^{\mu\nu}) gravity is discussed.

Grasas y Aceites , 1991,
Abstract: Statistical analysis of the results obtained for fat, reducing sugars, and moisture, in the fresh pulp of olives from two Spanish varieties, Gordal and Zorzale a, and one of Greek origin, Conservolea, during the growth and ripening period, gives rise to a multiple regression equation, which is valid for the three considered varieties. No significant differences, related to variety, crop, and culture region, were found in this study.

Abstract: Pegylated interferon and ribavirin is the treatment of choice in patients with chronic hepatitis C infection. The most common side effects of interferon therapy are flu-like symptoms and psychiatric disorders. Pneumonitis is a less frequent complication associated with non-negligible mortality. We herein report a case of interferon associated pneumonitis in a patient with non-severe clinical symptoms and a normal chest radiography. Physicians should be aware of this entity during the differential diagnosis of respiratory symptoms in patients receiving treatment with interferon due to its high morbimortality and good resolution and outcome after drug withdrawal.
Cardy-Verlinde formula in FRW Universe with inhomogeneous generalized fluid and dynamical entropy bounds near the future singularity

Physics , 2010, DOI: 10.1140/epjc/s10052-010-1425-0
Abstract: We derive a Cardy-Verlinde-like formula which relates the entropy of the closed FRW universe to its energy, and Casimir energy, for a multicomponent coupled fluid. The generalized fluid obeys an inhomogeneous equation of state. A viscous dark fluid is included, and we include also modified gravity using its fluid representation. It is demonstrated how such an expression reduces to the standard Cardy-Verlinde formula corresponding to the 2d CFT entropy only in some special cases. The dynamical entropy bound for a closed FRW universe with dark components is obtained. The universality of the dynamical entropy bound near a future singularity (of all four types), as well as near the Big Bang singularity, is investigated. It is demonstrated that except from some special cases of Type II and Type IV singularities the dynamical entropy bound is violated near the singularity even if quantum effects are taken into account. The dynamical entropy bound seems to be universal for the case of a regular universe, including the asymptotic de Sitter one.
Possible antigravity regions in $F(R)$ theory?
Kazuharu Bamba,Shin'ichi Nojiri,Sergei D. Odintsov,Diego Sáez-Gómez
Physics , 2014, DOI: 10.1016/j.physletb.2014.01.045
Abstract: We construct an $F(R)$ gravity theory corresponding to the Weyl invariant two scalar field theory. We investigate whether such $F(R)$ gravity can have the antigravity regions where the Weyl curvature invariant does not diverge at the Big Bang and Big Crunch singularities. It is revealed that the divergence cannot be evaded completely but can be much milder than that in the original Weyl invariant two scalar field theory.
Conformal symmetry and accelerating cosmology in teleparallel gravity
Kazuharu Bamba,Sergei D. Odintsov,Diego Sáez-Gómez
Physics , 2013, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.88.084042
Abstract: We discuss conformal issues of pure and extended teleparallel gravity. In particular, we present formulations of conformal transformation in teleparallel gravity. Furthermore, we propose conformal scalar and gauge field theories in teleparallel gravity and study conformal torsion gravity. We explicitly demonstrate that a power-law acceleration (including the $\Lambda$CDM universe) as well as the de Sitter expansion of the universe can be realized in extended teleparallel gravity with a conformal scalar field, and that pure teleparallel gravity with a conformal scalar field can lead to the $\Lambda$CDM model. It is also shown that there can exist the de Sitter solution in conformal torsion gravity.

Case Reports in Transplantation , 2013, DOI: 10.1155/2013/196528
Abstract: Purpose. Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) affecting the graft after renal transplantation is a very infrequent way of presentation of this tumor. Our aim is to present our single institution experience with 2 cases, as well as to perform a review of the literature about this tumor after the transplant. Materials and Methods. TCC of the graft developed in 2 of 1365 patients from 1977 to 2010, both cases in women. Data were analyzed for incidence, clinical presentation, treatment, and outcomes. Results. Both cases occurred in 2 mid-age women and resulted to be high grade and locally advanced TCCs, representing an incidence of 0,14% (2/1365). Clinical presentation was urinary obstruction for the first case and incidental ultrasound finding for the second. Preoperative staging was made with CT, cytology, pyelography, ureterorenoscopy, and biopsy. Treatment performed was nephroureterectomy of the graft with bladder cuff and regional lymphadenectomy. Pathological examination showed in both cases a locally advanced and high grade urothelial carcinoma of the pelvis allograft. After 24 and 14 months of followup, both patients are disease free. Conclusions. TCC of the kidney graft is an infrequent tumor that has only been reported in a few cases in the literature. It usually appears at a lower age, more often locally advanced, and with poor differentiation. A multidisciplinary approach to treatment should be required in these cases. 1. Introduction Nowadays, it is widely known that renal transplantation (RT) is the optimal treatment for end stage renal disease. However, after solid organ transplantation, there is a significant increased risk of developing a malignant neoplasm that varies based on cancer type [1]. This condition after RT is believed to depend on the length and type of immunosuppression or is associated with some viral infections. This risk is especially high for nonmelanoma skin cancer, hematological neoplasms, renal cell carcinoma, and thyroid cancer. Instead of this, prostate, testicular, or breast cancers have a lower risk [2]. Other tumors associated to viral infections and induced by that condition—such as hepatobiliary, cervical, or vulvovaginal neoplasms—have a higher incidence on transplant recipients. Transitional cell carcinoma (TCC) of the urinary tract is one of those tumors that appear also more commonly on transplanted population than nontransplanted, varying its incidence according to the series from 0,07% [3] to 1,9% [4]. The possible cause for the increased risk of cancer in this population is due to immunosuppression, which

Physics , 2013, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevD.87.103526
Abstract: In the context of f(R,T) theories of gravity, we study the evolution of scalar cosmological perturbations in the metric formalism. According to restrictions on the background evolution, a specific model within these theories is assumed in order to guarantee the standard continuity equation. Using a completely general procedure, we find the complete set of differential equations for the matter density perturbations. In the case of sub-Hubble modes, the density contrast evolution reduces to a second-order equation. We show that for well-motivated f(R,T) Lagrangians the quasistatic approximation yields to very different results from the ones derived in the frame of the concordance {\Lambda}CDM model constraining severely the viability of such theories.
