Gavarilla, a new genus of jumping spider from Brazil, and description of two new species of the genera Capeta Ruiz & Brescovit and Amatorculus Ruiz & Brescovit (Araneae, Salticidae, Sitticinae)

Abstract: gavarilla gen. nov. from northeastern brazil is proposed to include two new species: the type species gavarilla ianuzziae sp. nov. from the state of sergipe and gavarilla arretada sp. nov. from the state of maranh?o. the genus presents the standard sitticine dentition and is presumably related to the genera aillutticus galiano, 1987, nosferattus ruiz & brescovit, 2005, capeta ruiz & brescovit, 2005 and amatorculus ruiz & brescovit, 2005, with which it shares the similar high, rounded carapace. two new species, capeta cachimbo and amatorculus cristinae, are also described from the state of pará, and amatorculus stygius ruiz & brescovit, 2005 is recorded for the first time from the state of minas gerais.

Abstract: the genus helvetia peckham & peckham, 1894 is revised. the species h. zebrina simon, 1901 and h. zonata simon, 1901 are synonymized with h. cancrimana (taczanowski, 1872). the species h. insularis (banks, 1902) is synonymized with h. albovittata simon, 1901. the genus deloripa simon, 1901 is considered a junior synonym of helvetia by transfer of its type species, resulting in the new combination helvetia semialba (simon, 1901). the species cotinusa humillima mello-leit?o, 1943, transferred to helvetia by galiano, is revalidated. helvetia roeweri (soares & camargo, 1948) comb. nov. is transferred from the genus naubolus simon, 1901. the epigynal structures of the type species h. santarema peckham & peckham, 1894 and those of h. semialba, h. albovittata, h. cancrimana and h. roeweri are illustrated, as well as the palp of h. humillima. helvetia roeweri is redescribed and four new species are described: helvetia labiata (rio grande do sul, brazil), helvetia stridulans (espírito santo, brazil), helvetia rinaldiae (pará and s?o paulo, brazil) and helvetia galianoae (misiones, argentina). new records for h. cancrimana, h. albovittata and h. roeweri are given.

Abstract: the male of aillutticus rotundus galiano, 1987 is described for the first time and new records are presented from the states of acre, mato grosso do sul and s?o paulo, brazil. in addition, five new species of this genus are described from brazil: a. knysakae sp. nov. from the states of minas gerais, piauí and tocantins, a. montanus sp. nov. from the state of minas gerais, a. raizeri sp. nov. from the state of mato grosso do sul, a. soteropolitano sp. nov. from the state of bahia, and a. viripotens sp. nov. from the states of rond?nia and tocantins.

Abstract: nosferattus gen. nov., capeta gen. nov. and amatorculus gen. nov. are proposed from north and northeastern brazil. due to the absence of teeth on the retromargin of the chelicerae, these genera are included within the sitticinae, and are probably related to the genus aillutticus galiano, 1987, with which they share a high, broad carapace, rounded laterally behind the posterior lateral eyes, and the cephalic region slightly convex. nosferattus is proposed to include five species: the type species nosferattus discus sp. nov. and nosferattus ciliatus sp. nov. from maranh?o, nosferattus aegis sp. nov. from tocantins, nosferattus occultus sp. nov. from maranh?o and ceará, and nosferattus palmatus sp. nov. from sergipe. capeta and amatorculus are both monotypic and are proposed to include capeta tridens sp. nov., from bahia, and amatorculus stygius sp. nov., from distrito federal and s?o paulo, respectively.

Abstract: On 2008 there was a Community alert concerning the presence of Cadmium in crabs and on December 2009 there was a note from the Italian Ministry of Health concerning the control of cadmium in edible tissues of crabs caught in Italian territorial waters. This laboratory analyzed a total of 32 samples of crabs by atomic absorption spectroscopy graphite stove dividing the crustaceans in the following tissues: bright parts contained in claws, dark parts contained in the shell and red parts contained in the shell. The results showed that gastrointestinal shellfish tissues is at greatest risk, while the bright parts contained in claws are always below the limit set by European legislation (Reg. 1881/2006 and following). Furthermore it is clear that the crustaceans caught in the northern Adriatic present values of cadmium significantly lower compared to shellfish from France and UK.
