Abstract: Success in root canal treatment is achieved after thorough cleaning and shaping followed by complete obturation of the canal system. Therefore, endodontic therapy requires specific and complete knowledge of the internal and external dental anatomy, and its variations in presentation. Such treatment may be performed in root canal systems that do not comply with the normal anatomical features described in standard textbooks. The internal anatomy of the maxillary central incisor is well known and usually presents one root canal system. This case report describes an endodontic retreatment of a maxillary central incisor with two canal systems.

Abstract: we have realized an institutional analysis which aim is to examine the catholic ecclesiastical formative practices, by means of institutional functioning from a catholic seminary - set in s?o paulo state - and the register of the ecclesiastical knowledge, producer of a specific subjectivity pattern (future priests). we provide data and analysis of semi-structured interviews with the staff for understanding the formation relationship between priests responsible for the formation and seminarians concerning to a privileged and constitutive device of the seminary as an agent producer of subjectivity. thus we come to the conclusion that the seminary focused can be considered as a common disciplinary institution, which maintains the report as its main mechanism and microphysics device (exam tool, surveillance and normal process sanction). its genesis can be found into the catholic medieval convent, the matrix to the total institutions. it had used the confinement and a totalitarian and "panoptic" logic.

Abstract: in this article, we are looking into some goffman' s studies, lead by currently discussions of institutional analysis, michel foucault' s contributions upon microphysics of power and some other researchers from the production of subjectivity at the collective health. in spite of not having those theoretical resources from the later, goffman was already able to explain in his analysis further than he could suppose. we believe that goffman produces accurately mappings of the psychiatry hospital devices, by describing the geography of power into the total institution, and concerned to the details of everyday life. his investigations of the intra-institutional dimension from such mechanisms are still at present and efficient for the comprehension of production of subjectivity at institutional context. also, we have come across many remarkable echoes between goffman' s and foucault' s works.
Benelli, Sílvio José;Costa-Rosa, Abílio da;
Estudos de Psicologia (Campinas) , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-166X2002000200003
Abstract: this reseach aims to study the production of the subjectivity on the institutional context of a catholic seminary. this is a boarding school in which 70 seminarists study philosophy for 3 years, as a preparatory activity to priesthood. the way of being of the institutional life was researched through the participating observation and half-structured interviews were carried on in order to make out how the seminarist experiences his life on the institutional context. the preliminary outcome shows that we can understand the seminary as a total institution, a place comprising residence, work, study, background, sociability and entertainment, where lots of people living alike but apart from the well-off society lead a reclusive life and formally administrated. life in the institutional context of the seminary brings about several facets of subjectivity to the seminarist. there is a deep loss on the personal autonomy, freedom of going out and coming back, acting and deciding as well, causing a behavior of excessive dependence, resistence of changing, conversion to the proposed role and fratenal rivalry. the contradiction found between the repressive apparatus and the participating speech seems to cause the people characteristics set by fragmentation and refusal.
Benelli, Sílvio José;Costa-Rosa, Abílio da;
Estudos de Psicologia (Campinas) , 2006, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-166X2006000400003
Abstract: our research aims to study the subjectivity production into catholic institutions and environments dedicated to their members' religious formation. in this article, we had analyzed a report from an ex-focolare member as a case study. we focused on describing his formative path, integration and latter desertion from such group. basically by subtraction and by imaginary addition, the technology settled by this kind of integrative religious movement can produce a serialized subjectivity of deep fanatic shade, with no space for individuality, creative initiative, nor singularity. we have concluded with some psychosocial notes related to psychoanalysis understanding onto religious fanaticism.

Abstract: This paper presents results of a qualitative research performed in a cable TVcompany, which operates in the three states of the south of Brasil. Initially, a modelfor excellence in services, used as a reference for the whole analysis, is presented.Next, based on interviews carried out with executives of different areas of thecompany, a comparison between the proposed model and the practices adopted bythe company is presented. The study allowed the identification of how the companyanswers to each block of the model.

This work aimed to research the aquatic insect community structure using this community as a bioindicator of the environmental quality in a stretch of the Correntoso river, in Pantanal do Negro, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. Six collections were taken in different seasonal periods; ebb, dry and wet. The organisms were collected using a 300 Ym mesh D net sweeping five times through the roots of macrophyte banks at each sample. Three environments were compared (open, intermediary, closed) by adding the information from six collection sites. Family richness, absolute and relative abundance ofinsect samples and an evaluation of water quality were analyzed by using the BMWP index, BMWP-ASPT index, IBF index and Shannon diversity index, with log2. A total of 60 families from 12 orders of Insecta Class were recorded, totaling 19,773 individuals. Among the indexes applied, the BMWP index was the one that best represented the conditions of the studied environment.
Urban secondary sewage: an alternative medium for the culture of Tetraselmis chuii (Prasinophyceae) and Dunaliella viridis (Chlorophyceae)

Brazilian Archives of Biology and Technology , 2004, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-89132004000300016
Abstract: the effect of different concentrations (10, 20, 30 and 40%) of urban secondary sewage on the growth of tetraselmis chuii (prasinophyceae) and dunaliella viridis (chlorophyceae) was examined to verify the possibility of its use as an alternative culture medium for these species. stocks and 700ml duplicate batch cultures were maintained under controlled laboratory conditions. 30% and 40% additions were the most efficient for the growth of both species. statistical analysis of the adjusted growth (cell.ml-1) and biomass (μg chlorophyll-a.ml-1) curves performed using the chi-square test (p<0.05) demonstrated significant differences between the nutritive medium f/2 and the 40% addition used for these two species. the results suggested that some of the concentrations tested here yielded satisfactory cell densities and growth rates when compared with other culture media (macroalgae, bovine and chicken manure extracts). thus it could be used by semi intensive aquaculture systems.

Costa, Rauquírio André Albuquerque Marinho da;Koening, Maria Luise;Macêdo, Sílvio José de;
Brazilian Archives of Biology and Technology , 1999, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-89131999000200011
Abstract: experiments were carried out in order to test the efficiency of additions of secondary sewage as a culture medium for chaetoceros gracilis and thalassiosira sp (chrysophyceae) under laboratory conditions. these algae were cultivated in sea water with concentrations of 10%, 20%, 30% and 40% of wastewater. the results were compared with those obtained by the nutritive medium f2 of guillard (1975). the best results in terms of cellular densities were observed at 40% additions. there were significant differences (significance levels of 5%) between the nutritive medium f2 and the 40% additions for both the species. maximum cellular densities observed for all additions tested were, 4,125.00 x 103 cells/ml for chaetoceros gracilis on the ninth day and 834.00 x 103 cells/ml for thalassiosira sp on the fifth day. biomass was higher in the nutritive medium f2 than in the other treatments, reaching average values of 2,363μg/ml for chaetoceros gracilis. at all experimental units, the best results were registered at 40% addition for chaetoceros gracilis, where average values of 0.768μg/ml were observed on the fifth day, and at 30% additions for thalassiosira sp where 0.883μg/ml were observed on the thirteenth day. it was concluded that secondary sewage could be used as a culture medium for the species tested here, after large scale tests.
