A Decomposition of the Atkinson Index through the Shapley Value  [PDF]
Joss Sánchez-Pérez
Theoretical Economics Letters (TEL) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/tel.2012.25100
Abstract: This paper studies the economic inequality as a phenomenon resulting from two variables: The variable of responsibility which depends on the agents’ performance in the economy, and the variable of opportunity which is independent of the individuals’ performance in the economy. Identifying the contribution of the inequality of opportunity in the total inequality as the problem to be measured, we propose a decomposition of the Atkinson inequality index, by using one of the central solution concepts of cooperative game theory, called the Shapley value.
Self and Foreign Substances in Organic and Conventional Milk Produced in the Eastern Region of Mexico  [PDF]
Rey Gutiérrez, P. Rosell, S. Vega, Jesús Pérez, Acacia Ramírez, Marta Coronado
Food and Nutrition Sciences (FNS) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/fns.2013.45076
Abstract:

The objective of the present study was to evaluate the physicochemical properties, presence of water and aflatoxin M1, as well as the effect of the time of year (dry or rainy season) to value the quality and safety of conventional and organic raw milk samples. Samples were collected of conventional (n = 12) and organic (n = 11) raw milk from Tizayuca, Hidalgo and from Tuxpan, Veracruz, respectively. Infrared spectrophotometry and other analytical techniques were employed, approved by the International Dairy Federation for the analysis of the physicochemical properties, the cryoscopy technique for the detection of water addition, and high performance liquid chromatography for the determination of aflatoxin M1. Results showed that there are no significant differences in the components of conventional milk in the season of the year, whereas in organic milk a significant difference (P < 0.05) was observed in acidity during the seasons of the year (rainy and dry), as well as a decrease in the percentage of lactose in the dry season, with a significant difference (P < 0.05). The means of the cryoscopic point of the milk samples complied with the limits established in the Mexican Official Norm (0.530,

LA DOMESTICACIóN DE LA "TELE": USOS DEL TELEVISOR EN LA VIDA COTIDIANA. MAR DEL PLATA (ARGENTINA), 1960-1970
Pérez,Inés;
Historia Crítica , 2009,
Abstract: this article focuses on the television as an object of everyday life and the place it occupies in the domestic sphere. while argentinean historiography has so far focused on what happened in buenos aires, this article contributes to the history of other experiences regarding the arrival of the tv inside the home. it reconstructs the experience of those initial moments of the television in mar del plata in order to recuperate the historicity of the association between the television and domesticity.
Pérez,Inés;
Quinto sol , 2010,
Abstract: in argentina, social sciences have read the 20th century family history through an interpretative model, which has received a multiplicity of names, and which we will call classic model". in this article, our major aim is to reach a more complex image of the family life of the period in which this model is considered predominant (between the 1930's and the 1970's), one that acknowledges both the permanence of the bonds with relatives out of the nuclear family, and the conflicts that are inherent to family life. that is the reason why we work with life stories, making emphasis in everyday life experiences. the relation between family and household -the perspective from where we propose to approach the family history- is an interesting entrance for the consideration of central problems of family studies field.

Abstract: hiv, the causal agent of aids, has caused since its emergence 2 decades ago, an enormous challenge for biomedical investigation. utilising a wide spectrum of mechanisms to interfere with and evade the normal immune response it infects the cd4 lymphocytes via surface receptors. by expressing a high frequency of mutation this allows the virus to repeatedly change its antigenic determinants. hiv types 1 and 2 are lentiviruses, and together with oncornaviruses and espumaviruses form the family of human rna retroviruses. this article focuses on the current status of the viral molecular biology, the modern diagnostic techniques, such as reverse transcriptase and pcr used to measure vital replication in the infected host. we discuss the lines of treatment explored, which are directed at molecular targets susceptible to pharmalogical intervention and which does not affect celular function. such as virus-receptor interaction, reverse transcriptase of viral rna, proviral integration, proteolytic processing of the precursor gag-pol and viral specific transcriptional regulation for the products tat and rev. finally we discuss aspects in the field of anti-hiv immunization, a pending challenge in the first decade of the 21st century

Utilising a wide spectrum of mechanisms to interfere with and evade the normal immune response it infects the CD4 lymphocytes via surface receptors.
Abstract: The home mechanization process in Argentina received a major boost starting in the 1940s, which was related to the housing policies of this period and to the expansion and diversification of consumption. In that context, the discourses that promoted the consumption of domestic appliances relied on the figures of the "maid" and of "electric servants". These images were used in the promotion of these new goods in various texts targeting housewives as way to deal with and also exploit the anxieties generated by the transformations of everyday life which characterized the central decades of the Twentieth Century: on one hand, by changes in domestic service (especially the approval of labor rights for domestic workers); on the other hand, by the changes in gender relations, related to the increasing presence of married middle class women in the labor market and to the emergence of domestic masculinities.

Informes de la Construccion , 2009,
Abstract: This article looks for in the contemporary Spain different ways to industrialize the building field. Mainly focusing the dwellings construction system and analyzing the not successful former experiences explain the economical and social benefits related with a new political target for industrialization. The author believes Industrialization is the only way to fight against economical crisis and contributing to sustainability. The future balance between social needs and market should be built up through the new construction industry.
