Synergistic mechanism between SDBS and oleic acid in anionic flotation of rhodochrosite

Abstract: Pure mineral flotation experiments, zeta potential testing, and infrared spectroscopy were employed to investigate the interfacial reactions of oleic acid (collector), sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate (SDBS, synergist), and rhodochrosite in an anionic system. The pure mineral test shows that oleic acid has a strong ability to collect products on rhodochrosite. Under neutral to moderately alkaline conditions, low temperature (e.g., 10°C) adversely affects the flotation performance of oleic acid; the addition of SDBS significantly improves the dispersion and solubility of oleic acid, enhancing its collecting ability and flotation recovery. The zeta potential test shows that rhodochrosite interacts with oleic acid and SDBS, resulting in a more negative zeta potential and the co-adsorption of the collector and synergist at the mineral surface. Infrared spectroscopy demonstrated that when oleic acid and SDBS are used as a mixed collector, oleates along with –COO– and –COOH functional groups are formed on the mineral surface, indicating chemical adsorption on rhodochrosite. The results demonstrate that oleic acid and SDBS co-adsorb chemically on the surface of rhodochrosite, thereby improving the flotation performance of the collector.
Selective depression mechanism of ferric chromium lignin sulfonate for chalcopyrite–galena flotation separation

Abstract: Selective recovery of chalcopyrite–galena ore by flotation remains a challenging issue. The development of highly efficient, low-cost, and environmentally friendly depressants for this flotation is necessary because most of available reagents (e.g., K2Cr2O4) are expensive and adversely affect the environment. In this study, ferric chromium lignin sulfonate (FCLS), which is a waste-product from the paper and pulp industry, was introduced as a selective depressant for galena with butyl xanthate (BX) as a collector. Results show that the residue recovery of Pb in Cu concentrate was substantially reduced to 4.73% using FCLS compared with 10.71% using the common depressant K2Cr2O4. The underlying mechanisms were revealed using zeta-potential measurements and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). Zeta-potential measurements revealed that FCLS was more efficiently absorbed onto galena than onto chalcopyrite. XPS measurements further suggested that FCLS enhanced the surface oxidation of galena but prevented that of chalcopyrite. Thus, FCLS could be a potential candidate as a depressant for chalcopyrite–galena flotation because of its low cost and its lack of detrimental effects on the environment.

Expression of sTNFR-IgGFc Fusion Gene in Endothelial Cell and its Application in Gene Therapy for Rheumatoid Arthritis

Abstract: Tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNFalpha) is a pro-inflammatory cytokine, acting as a regulator of inflammation and immunity. TNFalpha plays a critical role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis. Blocking of TNFa activity suppressed inflammatory tissue damage. In present study, the chimeric gene of soluble TNF receptor and IgG Fc fragment (sTNFR-IgG FC) was cloned into the mammalian cell expression vector pStar. When the plamid pStar/sTNFR-IgGFc-GFP was transfected into endothelial cells, a considerable expression of the sTNFR-IgG Fc fusion protein was detected. Moreover, the product in 100microL expression supernatant could completely antagonize the cytolytic effect of 1ng TNFa on L929 cells, even at 1/64 dilution. Then the plasmid was delivered into CIA-induced rheumatoid arthritis mice by tail vein injection. The expression of sTNFR-IgG Fc was detected in liver by RT-PCR. Animals in treatment group showed reduced symptoms of arthritis and more active. This treatment induced decrease of synovial incrassation and prevented the cartilage destruction of the mice RA model. These results show that tail vein injection is an effective way for gene therapy and sTNFR-IgGFc expression plasmid is potential for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.

Abstract: 园艺作物经济价值较高,习惯于苗圃或营养钵育苗,是丛枝菌根(AM)真菌应用的先锋作物,在AM真菌应用过程中具有示范推广作用而受到普遍关注。简介了园艺作物菌根资源、生态及AM真菌促进作物对水分与养分的吸收利用、提高其抗旱性和抗病性、增加产量和改善品质的效应;阐述了农业生产中菌根在园艺作物的应用现状与前景,指出接种AM真菌将成为新世纪生态农业的重要生物技术之一,在发展无公害绿色食品生产中具有广阔的应用前景。
Data fragment algorithm based on granular computing

Abstract: The paper presented a data fragment model and its algorithm based on granular computing. This algorithm gave the data localization a suitable priority and dynamically adjusted the global relation partition's coarse and fine, and obtained a rational state for the data fragments. Meanwhile it will reduce the network flow, decrease the system cost, control the number of data fragments and decrease the data joint workload, thus improving the system efficiency.
Experimental investigation on the formation of stripe pattern in flowing argon discharge system

Abstract: Stable stripe pattern is observed in flowing argon at atmospheric pressure by using a dielectric barrier discharge device with two transparent water electrodes. Based on the photography and the electrical measurement, the formation mechanism of stripe is investigated. Results show that a stripe pattern can be obtained at a lower peak value of the applied voltage in flowing argon, and the discharge turns homogeneous at a higher voltage. Results show that the formation of stripe pattern results from the movement of discharge filament in the direction of gas flow. The moving velocity of filaments almost keeps constant during the voltage varying. However, the moving velocity increases with the increase of gas flow rate. The memory effect of active particles in the discharge space is very important for the formation of stripe pattern. Furthermore, the electric characteristics of discharge are studied in flowing gas in this paper. It is found that both the discharge current and the gas inception voltage decrease with the increase of the gas flow rate. A qualitative explanation is given for this experimental phenomenon. These results are of great importance for the research of pattern formation dynamics and industrial applications of dielectric barrier discharge.

Abstract: Over expressing in PTPN1 (encoding Protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B, PTP1B), a protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) that plays an overall positive role in insulin signaling, is linked to the pathogenesis of diabetes and obesity. The relationship between PTP1B and human diseases exhibits PTP1B as the target to treat these diseases. In this article, small weight molecules of the imidazolidine series were screened from databases and optimized on silicon as the inhibitors of PTP1B based on the steric conformation and electronic configuration of thiazolidinedione (TZD) compounds. The top three candidates were tested using an in vitro biological assay after synthesis. Finally, we report a novel inhibitor, Compound 13, that specifically inhibits PTP1B over the closely related phosphatase Src homology 2 (SH2) domain-containing phosphatase 2 (SHP-2) at 80 μΜ. Its IC 50 values are reported in this paper as well. This compound was further verified by computer analysis for its ability to combine the catalytic domains of PTP1B and SHP-2 by molecular dynamics (MD) simulations.
Effect of cultural media and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi on horticultural crops

Abstract: 从珍珠岩、蛭石、木屑、草炭、河沙等栽培基质的特点入手,讨论了不同基质对园艺作物生长发育、丛枝菌根(AM)真菌侵染和功能的影响以及AM真菌在不同基质条件下对作物生长的效应。将多种基质按一定比例混配而成的复合基质能综合各基质的优良理化特性,更有利于作物及其菌根的生长发育,如以草炭、蛭石和河沙接不同比例配成的7种基质中对西瓜接种Glomus mosseae,发现4号基质中侵染率最高,达39.9%,而1号基质中的最低,为14.8%,前者处理的植株生长量增加1.5-3倍。复合基质在无土设施栽培中十分有效,将得到更广泛的应用与开发。
