Mathematics , 2013, DOI: 10.1142/s0219498814500327
Abstract: In this paper, we completely classify the finite $p$-groups $G$ such that $\Phi(G')G_3\le C_p^2$, $\Phi(G')G_3\le Z(G)$ and $G/\Phi(G')G_3$ is minimal non-abelian. This paper is a part of the classification of finite $p$-groups with a minimal non-abelian subgroup of index $p$. Together with other four papers, we solve a problem proposed by Y. Berkovich.

Open Journal of Nursing (OJN) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/ojn.2015.510089
Abstract: Objective: Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy commonly experience depression and anxiety, which, along with adverse effects of chemotherapy, inevitably compromise quality of life (QOL) of the patients. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of a psycho-educational intervention on the quality of life (QOL) of patients with advanced lung cancer undergoing chemotherapy. Methods: Two hundred in-patients with unresectable advanced lung cancer undergoing chemotherapy in Shanxi Cancer Hospital from January to October 2013 were randomized into the intervention group (n = 100) and the control group (n = 100). Patients in the intervention group received a purposely designed and nurse-delivered psycho-educational intervention in addition to routine caring and chemotherapy, whereas those in the control group underwent chemotherapy and routine caring only. QOL of patients was assessed according to QOL instrument for lung cancer (QLICP-LU). The impact of the psycho-educational intervention on QOL was analyzed using independent-sample t test and χ2 test. Results: The psychological, physical, and social function, and the overall QOL scores were significantly improved in patients who received the psycho-educational intervention compared with those in the control group. Conclusions: A nurse-delivered psycho-educational intervention is a useful strategy to improve QOL of patients with advanced lung cancer undergoing chemotherapy.

Health (Health) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/health.2016.87071
Abstract: Background: Community based cervical cancer screening models using self-collection can effectively place the identification of who is positive in the hands of the patient. The key areas we have identified as critical are 1) education, 2) notification of screening opportunities, 3) registration, 4) submission of samples, 5) receiving results with an explanation, and 6) being advised where to receive evaluation and management from qualified healthcare personnel. Methods: Our primary objectives were to create, register, and pilot a website as a public platform for cervical cancer prevention for both city and rural, individual and organizational application. We selected two sites: Shenzhen City in China as the local city (individual participant) site, and Sangzhi County in Hunan Province as the remote (group management) site. The website was reviewable to all of China, but applications for screening and registration were open only to the women from the 2 pilot sites. In the local site, the women would first sign up (obtain a password) to view the website (www.mcareu.com), and then if they desired, they could register for screening using their true name and their state ID. After an offline confirmation of the address, the sampling kit would arrive. Results were available with additional education and guidance for care also on the website. Findings: 120,099 people nationwide visited the website in 27 months by the end of May, 2015, 1148 women from the sites registered at the website and 87.5% enrolled in the pilot trial. 72.3% of those testing positive returned for management. Virtually 100% of the registration/historical information was entered appropriately and 100% of the samples were handled properly. Interpretation: Web-based decision aids help patients through the uncertainties of healthcare. Applied to cervical cancer screening using self-collection, the effectiveness of the model specifically in respect to accessibility, education, registration, data input, and instructions for positive management was clearly demonstrated by this pilot as well as the potential for future diagnostics applicable to self-collection.

PLOS ONE , 2012, DOI: 10.1371/journal.pone.0019752
Abstract: Phosphorus is one of the macronutrients essential for plant growth and development. The acquisition and translocation of phosphate are pivotal processes of plant growth. In a large number of plants, phosphate uptake by roots and translocation within the plant are presumed to occur via a phosphate/proton cotransport mechanism.

International Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences , 2012, DOI: 10.1155/2012/378217
Abstract: Let () be the algebra generated in Sobolev space 22() by the rational functions with poles outside the unit disk . In this paper, we study the similarity invariant of the multiplication operators in ?(()), when is univalent analytic on or is strongly irreducible. And the commutants of multiplication operators whose symbols are composite functions, univalent analytic functions, or entire functions are studied.
Graphs with small diameter determined by their $D$-spectra
Jie Xue,Ruifang Liu
Mathematics , 2015,
Abstract: Let $G$ be a connected graph with vertex set $V(G)=\{v_{1},v_{2},...,v_{n}\}$. The distance matrix $D(G)=(d_{ij})_{n\times n}$ is the matrix indexed by the vertices of $G,$ where $d_{ij}$ denotes the distance between the vertices $v_{i}$ and $v_{j}$. Suppose that $\lambda_{1}(D)\geq\lambda_{2}(D)\geq\cdots\geq\lambda_{n}(D)$ are the distance spectrum of $G$. The graph $G$ is said to be determined by its $D$-spectrum if with respect to the distance matrix $D(G)$, any graph having the same spectrum as $G$ is isomorphic to $G$. In this paper, we give the distance characteristic polynomial of some graphs with small diameter, and also prove that these graphs are determined by their $D$-spectra.

Abstract: Total RNA was extracted from placenta umbilical tissue and the canstatin cDNA was amplified from total RNA by net-RT-PCR technique. The amplified cDNA was cloned into pSP72 and sequenced. The canstatin cDNA was cut down from pSP72C with BamH I / Nde I and ligated into the vector pET-3c. The resultant plasmid pETC was then transformed into E. coli BL21 (DE3). The canstatin gene was efficiently expressed after IPTG induction as a 25 kD band on SDS-PAGE. The expressed product constituted approximately 27.9% of the total bacterial proteins estimated by densitometry and existed mainly as inclusion body. The inclusion bodies were washed, lysed, refolded and purified on the Sephadex G-75 gel filtration column to a purity of 91.4%. CAM assay showed that 10 microg purified canstatin is enough to inhibit the angiogenesis of chichen embryo microcapillary vessel.

Pharmacology & Pharmacy (PP) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/pp.2013.46072
Abstract: Background: Qin Bing eye drop is prepared with cortex fraxini and borneol. It has been commonly used to relieve the symptoms of photokeratoconjunctivitis (PKC), chronic conjunctivitis and keratitis for more than forty years. However, the origins of cortex fraxini are various, which may result in the unstable quality. Methods: The animal model of PKC was established using rabbit’s eyes exposure to Ultraviolet (UV); levofloxaxin drop, normal saline, Qin Bing eye drops made of herbs from Hebei province and Shanxi province were respectively instilled to both eyes of rabbits; the symptoms of rabbits’ eyes were observed at different time points and scores based on weights were recorded; the recovery rates of different groups were evaluated. Results: The scores of both eyes for all rabbits were above 9 points, indicating animal models for PKC were successful; the average recovery rates of therapeutic groups, including Qin Bing eye drop groups, were higher than untreated group at different time points; the slopes of recovery rate in Qin Bing eye drop (Hebei) were above Shanxi. Conclusion: PKD animal model can be established successfully; Qin Bing eye drop groups promoted the symptoms of PKD recovering quicker than untreated group. Furthermore, Qin Bing eye drop made of herbs from province Hebei had better effects than Shanxi, which was consistent with chemical results. This indicated that chemical constituents of herbs were able to reflect the effects to a certain extent.

Abstract: The investigation deals with the spectrum of a class of differential operators of order 2n where the underlying Hilbert space is weighted. The author considers the embedding problem of the weighted Sobolev space H2n into the weighted L2 space Lr2. Using the results obtained,we give the existence interval for the essential spectrum. Especiallys conditions on the coefficients are given such that the spectra are discrete.

Abstract: The existence of global entropy solution for nonlinear and inhomogeneous elastodynamics equations. A prior $L^{\infty}$ estimates of viscosity solution is derived with the help of the theory of invariant regions. By using the vanishing viscosity method together with compensation compactness theory, the convergence of viscosity solution is obtained.
