Abstract: The modern information network environment largely changed consumer habits. Hotel Reservation way becomes increasingly diversified. By building the traditional and Internet booking ways’ demand functions which were linear in self- and cross-price effects and the hotel revenue function, we determine the optimal pricing strategy of the hotel’s Internet booking way. The effect of the optimal strategy is also discussed, and numerical simulation verifies that the optimal strategy can greatly improve the hotel revenue. All of the research propositions help hotel managers make deeper understanding of fixed room quantity’s influence on pricing strategies, and provide managers the basis of pricing strategy.
Design of the Quantization Matrix in the Distributed Compressed Sensing Video Coding*  [PDF]

In the frame of compressed sensing distributed video coding, the design of the quantization matrix directly affects the reconstruction quality of the receiving terminal of the video. In this article, we present a new design method of the Gaussian quantization matrix adapting to the compressed sensing coding, for that the distribution of the parameters of the image is featured of the characteristic of approximately normal distribution after measured by compressive sensing. By this way, the parameters of a certain quantity of the image frames depending on the video sequences generated by the Gaussian quantization matrix possess certain adaptive capacity. By comparison with the plan of the traditional quantization, the quantization matrix presented in this article would improve the reconstruction quality of the video.

Abstract: The dual land market has greatly encouraged the economy and urban development and created far-reaching effects on excessive land expropriation and land finance. Using an analytical framework of dual market structure model, this paper investigates the relationship between local land finance and China’s rapid urbanization. Low-cost land expropriation is the main reason why extensive urbanization goes so fast in recent China. Granting farmers the complete land rights, implementing property tax to consolidate local tax bases, unifying the dual land market are helpful to achieve both social equity and land use efficiency in Chinese rapid urbanization process.

Patterns of Proliferative Activity in the Colonic Crypt Determine Crypt Stability and Rates of Somatic Evolution

Abstract: Epithelial cells in the colon are arranged in cylindrical structures called crypts in which cellular proliferation and migration are tightly regulated. We hypothesized that the proliferation patterns of cells may determine the stability of crypts as well as the rates of somatic evolution towards colorectal tumorigenesis. Here, we propose a linear process model of colonic epithelial cells that explicitly takes into account the proliferation kinetics of cells as a function of cell position within the crypt. Our results indicate that proliferation kinetics has significant influence on the speed of cell movement, kinetics of mutation propagation, and sensitivity of the system to selective effects of mutated cells. We found that, of all proliferation curves tested, those with mitotic activities concentrated near the stem cell, including the actual proliferation kinetics determined in in vivo labeling experiments, have a greater ability of delaying the rate of mutation accumulation in colonic stem cells compared to hypothetical proliferation curves with mitotic activities focused near the top of the crypt column. Our model can be used to investigate the dynamics of proliferation and mutation accumulation in spatially arranged tissues.
The Effect of Leadership Style on Employee Engagement: The Moderating Role of Task Structure  [PDF]

Abstract: According to the social exchange theory, based on the 335 valid questionnaire data, the article uses the hierarchical regression method to examine the influence of authoritarian leadership and charismatic leadership on employee engagement and the moderating effect of task structure. The results show that charismatic leadership is significantly positively correlated with employee engagement, and there is a significant positive correlation between vigor, dedication and absorption. Authoritarian leadership is significantly negatively correlated with employee engagement, and is significantly negatively correlated with vigor and dedication. The task structure plays a moderating role between authoritarian leadership and employee engagement. Studies have shown that combined with contextual factors can better explain the role of leadership quality in leadership effectiveness, and also provide guidance and suggestions for leadership selection and practice, that is, in the context of high-task structure, organizations should prioritize the selection of individuals with authoritarian orientation as leaders.

Abstract: Due to requests on high rotary velocity of novel smart empennage-stable projectiles, the rolling characteristics under wide-angle oblique angles are studied. Since the wind tunnel tests performed verify numerical simulation, so that the latter method can be applied to study the rolling characteristics widely combining theoretical models. In the theoretical part, the rolling dynamics equations are established considering the span, taper ratio and oblique angle of the empennages, and are further solved combing ballistic equations. For the simulation, the rolling moment coefficients under various rotary velocities are solved based on rotating coordinate system methods, so that the balance rotary velocity can be obtained using interpolation. The results indicate that shorter span, higher taper ratio and especially larger oblique angle can bring higher projectile rotary velocity; the balance rotary velocity is approximately linear to the oblique angle in a certain range.

With the continuous development of urban distribution network, most of the distribution network has formed a dual power supply mode. The traditional way of distribution network load operating mainly adopts the power method, while satisfied the requirements of the safety of power grid, but will cause external short time power outages, poor user experience, realizing the distribution network outage rearrangement of load is a necessary means to improve power supply reliability. This paper presents mathematical model of load transfer in distribution network. The differences of voltage of amplitude and phase angle on both sides are calculated by the power flow. According to the differential pressure to determine whether the loop can be closed at the loop operation, thereby improving the success rate of operation.
