Abstract: Infiltration and local proliferation are known factors that contribute to tubulointerstitial macrophage accumulation. This study explored the time course of these two contributors' roles as tubulointerstitial inflammation and fibrosis progressing, and evaluated the mechanisms of the protective effect of atorvastatin. Unilateral ureteral obstructive (UUO) rats were treated with atorvastatin (10 mg/Kg) or vehicle. Expression of osteopontin (OPN) and macrophage colony-stimulating factor (M-CSF) was evaluated by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry. Immunohistochemistry staining of ED1 was used to assess macrophage accumulation in interstitium. Histological evaluation was performed to semiquantify tubulointerstitial fibrosis. The results showed that on day 3 after UUO operation, OPN expression significantly increased and positively correlated with the number of the interstitial ED1

The results showed that on day 3 after UUO operation, OPN expression significantly increased and positively correlated with the number of the interstitial ED1+ cells, while on day 10, M-CSF expression upregulated and correlated with interstitial ED1 + cells. In atorvastatin treatment group, the increments of these two factors were attenuated significantly at the two time points, respectively. ED1+ cell accumulation and fibrosis also ameliorated in the treatment group. For all the samples of UUO and treatment group on day 10, ED 1+ cells also correlated with interstitial fibrosis scores. The results suggest that OPN may induce the early macrophage/monocyte infiltration and M-CSF may play an important role in regulating macrophage accumulation in later stage of UUO nephropathy. Statin treatment decreases interstitial inflammation and fibrosis, and this renoprotective effect may be mediated by downregulating the expression of OPN and M-CSF.

Abstract: There has been a great deal of work done in recent years on weighted Bergman spaces $\apa$ on the unit ball $\bn$ of $\cn$, where $0-1$. We extend this study in a very natural way to the case where $\alpha$ is {\em any} real number and $0
Carleson Measures and Toeplitz operators for weighted Bergman spaces on the unit ball

Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: Some new characterizations on Carleson measures for weighted Bergman spaces on the unit ball involving product of functions are obtained. For these we characterize bounded and compact Toeplitz operators between weighted Bergman spaces. The above results are applied to characterize bounded and compact extended Ces\`aro operators and pointwise multiplication operators. The results are new even in the case of the unit disk.
Carleson measures, Riemann-Stieltjes and multiplication operators on a general family of function spaces
Jordi Pau,Ruhan Zhao
Mathematics , 2013,
Abstract: Let $\mu$ be a nonnegative Borel measure on the unit disk of the complex plane. We characterize those measures $\mu$ such that the general family of spaces of analytic functions, $F(p,q,s)$, which contain many classical function spaces, including the Bloch space, $BMOA$ and the $Q_s$ spaces, are embedded boundedly or compactly into the tent-type spaces $T^{\infty}_{p,s}(\mu)$. The results are applied to characterize boundedness and compactness of Riemann-Stieltjes operators and multiplication operators on $F(p,q,s)$.

Abstract: Abilities to write effectively are one of the important skills of individuals’ daily life, business life and whole education life; from primary to higher education. This paper aims to study preservice teachers’ opinions on reading newspaper in Turkish I: Writing Skills Course. Preservice teachers’ opinions on the contributions of reading newspaper in Writing Skills are studied in the paper. The opinions are examined by using qualitative and quantitative inquiry methods with mixed methods research design. 89 preservice teachers, who are studying Turkish and Social Sciences Education in 2010/2011 Autumn semester at Adiyaman University, are participated in this study. Quantitative data of the study are gathered by measuring insrument which is developed by the researchers to specify the opinions of preservice teachers’ concerning the contribution of using newspapers in order to develop writing skills. The data obtained as a result of the study are evaluated as average, standard deviation, t test, frequency (f), percentage (%). Qualitative data are gathered by semi-structured interview technique and they are analyzed by content analysis technique. As a conclusion it has been discovered that using newspapers in Writing Skills courses helps preservice teachers’ to develop their language skills especially writing skills and personal development. An effective symmetric key recovery scheme for secure onboard satellite applications
A Ruhan Bevi,S Malarvizhi
International Journal of Computer Science Issues , 2011,
Abstract: Reconfigurable FPGAs promise high density, performance and good schedulable options with their wide range of SRAM target devices that can be hosted for any applications. The SRAM FPGAs are widely used due to their vast resources and ease to design, but critically suffers due to radiation errors called single event upsets (SEU). These errors are prominent when the FPGA device is employed beyond an altitude. Therefore, it is very essential to prevent or to correct the SEUs, particularly for applications in satellites. The corruption of a cryptographic key by a SEU is considered to be a serious issue, because a single bit change in the key may damage the entire block of data and lead to severe increase in retransmission rates. The cryptographic keys are protected from SEUs by introducing an extra key recovery module (KRM). The proposed design is tailored for implementing a secured key for a Tiny Encryption algorithm (TEA) module resistant to SEU based on the stringent constraints of power, energy and cost. This paper proposes the FPGA implementation of TEA algorithm in hardware for onboard satellite applications.
Teachers’ Perceptions about the Efficiency of Analysis and Synthesis Methods in Teaching Reading and Writing of First Graders

Journal of Theory and Practice in Education , 2007,
Abstract: The aim of the present study is to figure out the perceptions of teachers regarding the efficiency of the two methods, namely, the “analysis” and “synthesis” methods, used in teaching reading and writing to first graders. The data of the study was collected through the survey method and participants of the study were 22 teachers working in 15 Primary Schools in Eski ehir during the 2004-2005 academic year. In order to get in-depth understanding about the perceptions of the teachers, a semi structured interview technique, one of the qualitative research methods, was used in the data collecting process. In the analysis of the data, a descriptive analysis technique was used and the findings of the study were paraphrased in numbers. The findings of the study indicated that the participants believe that the analysis method is more advantageous than the synthesis method for first graders in terms of improving their reading comprehension skills, increasing their speed in learning to read and write, fostering their cognitive development, and refining their individual differences. Additionally, the findings of the present study revealed that teachers have encountered a variety of problems while practicing both of the methods.
Essential Normality of automorphic composition operators
Liangying Jiang,Caiheng Ouyang,Ruhan Zhao
Mathematics , 2014,
Abstract: We first characterize those composition operators that are essentially normal on the weighted Bergman space $A^2_s(D)$ for any real $s>-1$, where induced symbols are automorphisms of the unit disk $D$. Using the same technique, we investigate the automorphic composition operators on the Hardy space $H^2(B_N)$ and the weighted Bergman spaces $A^2_s(B_N)$ ($s>-1$). Furthermore, we give some composition operators induced by linear fractional self-maps of the unit ball $B_N$ that are not essentially normal.
