The Effects of Systemic Risk on the Allocation between Value and Growth Portfolios  [PDF]
Gabriel Penagos, Gonzalo Rubio
Journal of Mathematical Finance (JMF) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jmf.2013.31A016
Abstract:

Given the striking effects of the recent financial turmoil, and the importance of value and growth portfolios for both local and international portfolio allocation, we investigate the effects of systemic jumps on the optimal portfolio investment strategies across value and growth equity portfolios. We find that the cost of ignoring systemic jumps is not substantial, unless the portfolio is highly levered and the average size amplitude of the jump is large enough. From the optimal asset allocation point of view, it seems more important the effects of few but relatively large jumps than highly frequent but small jumps. Indeed, the period in which the value premium is higher coincides with a period of few, but large and positive average size jumps for value stocks, and negative and very large average size jumps for growth stocks.

La euritmia de Juan Emar: Teoría del equilibrio y sistema constructivo
Rubio Rubio,Cecilia;
Acta literaria , 2008, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-68482008000200002
Abstract: in this study i examine the concepts shown by juan emar in his reflexive-character writings from the '20s (cavilaciones (1919-1922) and articles on art (1923-1927). these concepts build up a systematic semantics net that allows to propose a global interpretation of emar's work understood as a unit of sense. this conceptualisation is an occultist metaphysics that refers to the individual-world relationship as a cognitive and constructive-creative relationship according to eurythmic poetics, the base of which is a theory of equilibrium governed by numerical-geometrical laws. here, i claim that there is evidence of this constructive system working in emar's writing practice of fiction texts from the '30s (ayer, diez and umbral).

In this study I examine the concepts shown by Juan Emar in his reflexive-character writings from the '20s (Cavilaciones (1919-1922) and articles on art (1923-1927).
The Cauchy-Dirichlet Problem for a Class of Linear Parabolic Differential Equations with Unbounded Coefficients in an Unbounded Domain

International Journal of Stochastic Analysis , 2011, DOI: 10.1155/2011/469806
Abstract: We consider the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem in for a class of linear parabolic partial differential equations. We assume that is an unbounded, open, connected set with regular boundary. Our hypotheses are unbounded and locally Lipschitz coefficients, not necessarily differentiable, with continuous data and local uniform ellipticity. We construct a classical solution to the nonhomogeneous Cauchy-Dirichlet problem using stochastic differential equations and parabolic differential equations in bounded domains. 1. Introduction In this paper, we study the existence and uniqueness of a classical solution to the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem for a linear parabolic differential equation in a general unbounded domain. Let be the differential operator where , , and . The Cauchy-Dirichlet problem is where is an unbounded, open, connected set with regular boundary. In the case of bounded domains, the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem is well understood (see [1, 2] for a detailed description of this problem). Moreover, when the domain is unbounded and the coefficients are bounded, the existence of a classical solution to (1.2) is well known. For a survey of this theory see [3, 4] where the problem is studied with analytical methods and [5] for a probabilistic approach. In the last years, parabolic equations with unbounded coefficients in unbounded domains have been studied in great detail. For the particular case when , there exist many papers in which the existence, uniqueness, and regularity of the solution is studied under different hypotheses on the coefficients; see for example, [6–17]. In the case of general unbounded domains, Fornaro et al. in [18] studied the homogeneous, autonomous Cauchy-Dirichlet problem. They proved, using analytical methods in semigroups, the existence and uniqueness of a solution to the Cauchy-Dirichlet problem when the coefficients are locally , with bounded, and functions with a Lyapunov type growth; that is, there exists a function such that and for some , It is also assumed that has a boundary. Schauder-type estimates were obtained for the gradient of the solution in terms of the data. Bertoldi and Fornaro in [19] obtained analogous results for the Cauchy-Neumann problem for an unbounded convex domain. Later, in [20] Bertoldi et al. generalized the method to nonconvex sets with boundary. They studied the existence, uniqueness, and gradient estimates for the Cauchy-Neumann problem. For a survey of this results, see [21]. Using the theory of semigroups, Da Prato and Lunardi studied, in [22, 23], the realization of the elliptic operator , in the
El pasado reciente en la experiencia chilena: Bases para una pedagogía de la memoria
Rubio,Graciela;
Estudios pedagógicos (Valdivia) , 2012, DOI: 10.4067/S0718-07052012000200023
Abstract: a reflection about the recent past can be seen as historical experience, object of study, discursive building up and its perspectives of teaching in chile. a critical and narrative hermeneutic pedagogy is proposed to direct the learning of that past from a reflexive memory.
HOUSE OF MIST, DE MARíA LUISA BOMBAL: UNA NOVELA OLVIDADA
RUBIO,PATRICIA;
Rubio, Blanca;
Argumentos (México, D.F.) , 2008,
Abstract: this article aims to unravel the structural origin of world-wide food crisis, distinguishing the short-term or rupture elements that strenghten it from those factors that affect its exit and have therefore a structural impact on the rise of food prices. also, it tries to demonstrate that the food crisis constitutes the midwife of a new world-wide agro-alimentary order that is emerging and will generate important changes in the national agro-alimentary scope. the impact of the food crisis is also analyzed in rural mexico, in order to demonstrate that it's the great rural entrepreneurs who have benefitted from higher prices, whereas the small producers have been affected by the increase in the price of the supplies, and the absence of governmental supports of productive impulse.

Abstract: the woman condition at 20?s was determined by a discourse that, based in the public life and dedication to a private life. at the same time the feminist movement fight to the rights of the women to citizenship and a social life outside. among physical education, the discourses added a woman physically active. the athletics?, classic dance and basketball started to be consider health activities to women. the subjective of this paper is to discuss how it was the women participation at the corporal practices in clubs at 20?s of 20th century in sao paulo.
EVALUACIóN DE LAS LEYES: LECCIONES DE LA CRIMINOLOGíA
Rubio,Mauricio;
Revista de Economía Institucional , 2008,
Abstract: this essay argues that the design and evaluation of legal reforms require an expert, empirical, local and multidisciplinary approach. from criminology, an auxiliary discipline of criminal law, several practical, theoretical and normative lessons can be drawn; for example, the way it addresses the issue of information gathering. it also refers to its theoretical insights for the conceptual debate on crime and suggests methodological guidelines for the evaluation the impact of legal reforms.
