Argumentos (México, D.F.) , 2011,
Abstract: this paper analyzes the formation of the state emerged from the mexican revolution. it rests on the understanding of the state as a relational process: a form of social life which takes place in the struggle and resistance, in which configuration the subaltern classes also participate, and whose foundations are woven intangible long time in history. recovering the gramscian reading of machiavelli, this paper find in the myth of the agrarian community the key to understanding the mexican revolution state's legitimacy.
Roux, Rhina;
Argumentos (México, D.F.) , 2007,
Abstract: the globalization is the expansion of the capitalist market without nacional, juridical or social barriers. this new capitalist universalization appears like a great transformation: a historical change in the political forms, global space, geography, culture and subjectivities. in mexico this great transformation is tearing the material, geographical and cultural basis of the state and redefining its existence: its integration in the world, the relationship with other states and internal codes of authority and hegemony. this process, conflicting and disputed, is taking place and their outcome is open.

Holistic curriculum development: tutoring as a support process
C Roux
South African Journal of Education , 2009,
Abstract: In many programmes, tutorials have proved to be an effective way of providing both academic and personal support. The tutor's role in these involves different aspects of teaching and learning. In this article I explore the value of tutoring as a means of supporting the holistic curriculum development process. I reflect on the reason for introducing a system of tutoring for students in curriculum studies and the results of its implementation on students' academic performance, in order to contribute to a better understanding of this kind of intervention. A summary of empirical data on the implementation of the tutor system and feedback on the system and tutors' reflections on the process are provided. Finally, the outcomes of the implementation of tutoring on the students\' performance at the end of the academic year are discussed.

El mito, la tierra, el Príncipe
Rhina Roux
Argumentos (México, D.F.) , 2011,
The social space of advice in bank-customer relationshipThe French word conseil , which may refer both to consulting activities and to less prestigious or even non-professional advice, has been increasingly used as a name for various forms of work and occupations those past decades, including intermediate occupations and lower managerial and professional occupations. The meaning of the word has become, therefore, significantly unclear today. This paper, focusing on the case of bank advisers dealing with private customers, exemplifies this fact and tries to explore some of its consequences. Using both qualitative and quantitative data, it shows how the uncertainty conveyed by the occupation name used by the banks, i.e. conseillers , tends to intensify the effects of social worlds in the interaction between advisers and customers, which has a deep impact on the meaning given to work in each context. The customers are likely to legitimize or refuse the definition of the situation promoted by the bank; actually, they seem to be more likely to play the game of an advice relationship if their social posit
