Abstract: there are two categories use in the analysis in this article, the financing of the higher education institute and the higher education management. both are related to the production of new knowledge. we start from the believe that even do in the first world, the apparition of new private institutions of higher education dedicated to investigation its growing and with excellent results , in our countries this responsibility its still in the hands of are publics universities and in the support of are national state, in a relation of double communication.
John’s Apocalypse: Dynamic word-images for a new world
S Rosell
HTS Theological Studies/Teologiese Studies , 2011,
Abstract: The aim of the article is to investigate the function of the symbols and images in the Apocalypse of John. Its aim is to focus on the ‘mental scenarios’ readers are bringing to the text, rather than on John’s supposed lack of ability to convey his message. The article discusses both the symbolic or iconographic and the evocative power within the historical situation which the author of the Apocalypse addresses. The article’s intention is to show how John reveals an alternative way of understanding history through the use of his particular imagery, aided by film theory tools and based on previous work that had perceived the Apocalypse’s ‘theatrical’ nature, in order to discover John’s use of images, their function and the new world he aims to portray.
Quantum Corrections in the Resonance Chiral Theory
Rosell, I.
High Energy Physics - Phenomenology , 2007,
Abstract: This PhD thesis is a first step towards the control of the quantum corrections in the Resonance Chiral Theory, the suggested framework to handle QCD in the resonance region. After a theoretical introduction, Chapter 3 is devoted to calculate the vector form factor of the pion at the next-to-leading order in the 1/N(C) expansion. The ultraviolet behaviour of the calculation is analyzed, together with the needed counterterms in the renormalization procedure. The long-distance limit allows to determine the resonance contribution to the low-energy constants of Chiral Perturbation Theory at the NLO in 1/N(C). In Chapter 4 a study of the two-body hadronic form factors from large-N(C) QCD is shown. We present a dispersive method which allows to investigate the chiral LECs and we perform a NLO calculation of the scalar and pseudoscalar two-point functions. Imposing the correct QCD short-distance constraints, one determines their difference Pi(t)=Pi_S(t)-Pi_P(t) in terms of the pion decay constant and resonance masses. Its low-momentum expansion fixes then the ChPT coupling L(8). In Chapter 5 we evaluate the beta-function at one-loop of the resonance lagrangian with one multiplet of scalar and pseudoscalar resonances, up to bilinear couplings in the resonance fields, by using the background field method.
Determining chiral couplings at NLO
Rosell, Ignasi
High Energy Physics - Phenomenology , 2007, DOI: 10.1063/1.2823865
Abstract: We present a general method that allows to estimate the low-energy constants of Chiral Perturbation Theory up to next-to-leading corrections in the 1/N(C) expansion, that is, keeping full control of the renormalization scale dependence. As a first step we have determined L(8) and C(38), the couplings related to the difference of the two-point correlation functions of two scalar and pseudoscalar currents, L(8)(mu_0) = (0.6 \pm 0.4) 10^{-3} and C(38)(mu_0) = (2 \pm 6) 10^{-6}$, with mu_0 = 0.77 GeV. As in many effective approaches, one of the main ingredients of this method is the matching procedure: some comments related to this topic are presented here.
Current correlators and form factors in the resonance region
Rosell, Ignasi
High Energy Physics - Phenomenology , 2008, DOI: 10.1016/j.nuclphysbps.2008.12.034
Abstract: Within Resonance Chiral Theory and in the context of QCD current correlators at next-to-leading order in 1/N(C), we have analyzed the two-body form factors which include resonances as a final state . The short-distance constraints have been studied. One of the main motivations is the estimation of the chiral low-energy constants at subleading order, that is, keeping full control of the renormalization scale dependence. As an application we show the resonance estimation of some coupling, L(10)(mu_0)=(-4.4 \pm 0.9)10^{-3} and C(87)(mu_0)=(3.1 \pm 1.1)10^{-5}.

Loving God… unto death: The witness of the early Christians
Sergio Rosell
HTS Theological Studies/Teologiese Studies , 2010, DOI: 10.4102/hts.v66i1.301
Abstract: The article focuses on the social and theological dynamics that drove early Christ-followers to understand martyrdom as being a legitimate and honourable way by means of which to demonstrate love for God to the uttermost limits. Martyrdom is rooted much earlier in the Jewish tradition, though it received new impetus from the second century AD onwards. The study seeks to trace its raison d’être within the pages of the New Testament, both in the sayings of Jesus and the letters of Paul. It is argued that the apostle’s theology of suffering provided sufficient grounds for such an understanding, which finds in Ignatius, Bishop of Antioch, one of its major representatives. Finally, the study seeks to reflect on the plausible actualisation of non-bloody martyrdom for today’s Christian discipleship, if it has any relevance at all. Financiamiento, gestión y nuevos escenarios para la producción de conocimientos that determine the pertinence of our investigative efforts.
Lermit Rosell
