Correa, Patricio Ramírez;Cruz, Rosario García;
JISTEM - Journal of Information Systems and Technology Management , 2005, DOI: 10.1590/S1807-17752005000300002
Abstract: the study presents a systematic literature review on the implementation of erp systems. the analyses are based on 168 articles published in isi journals. firstly, the course of investigation on the phenomenon is investigated. then, methodologies under use are specified in the analysis: field work - statistical technique and variables; case studies - the type of design and study problem; conceptual works - their impact on literature. additionally, critical success factors proposed for the implementation of erp systems are summarized. lastly, with the purpose of supporting the development of future assumptions, some conclusions are provided on the scientific background for the study. a general analysis concludes that publications on erp system implementation show a clear expansion trend, and are concentrated in information system journals. empirical studies are privileged, with case studies used more frequently. organizations under study are usually multinationals in the industrial sector. based on that review, one concludes that: 1- organization size plays a key role in erp systems implementation; 2- the factors that affect late erp adoption differ from those that affect early implementation; 3- cultural collision can be felt at erp implementation; 4- diligent studies on success factors in erp implementation are few in number; 5- there is not one single dimension to measure erp system success.

Abstract: The strategic alliances are a phenomenon that has experienced a great increase in the last years. The reasons are the changes that the international environment is producing. That is to say, the globalization process determines the creation of alliances, becoming an essential element to create and to maintain advantages competitive. The international context is where the culture plays an important role as inside of the relations that are established in the international strategic alliances. The main goal of our paper is to identify groups of alliances according to the relational elements that characterize them. We have left from the model proposed by Hunt and other (2002), on which we have created a set of hypothesis. They have been sustained in the relational variables and that have been tested in a sample of Spanish companies that develop international strategic alliances. We have created three groups depending on the origin of the partner: among Spanish companies to go out to the foreign markets, Spanish companies with European partner and Spanish companies with partner from outside EU. The ANOVA is the statistical tool that allows us to identify significant differences between the groups.

JISTEM - Journal of Information Systems and Technology Management , 2005,
Abstract: This paper reports a systematic revision of scientific literature about ERP systems implementation. Based in 168 articles published in ISI journals the study makes an analysis set. First, we studied the evolution of the research on the phenomenon. Next, we distinguished according to the used research methodologies, this analysis included: in the field studies, the statistical techniques used and the studied variables; in the case studies, the design type and the study problem; and in the conceptual works its impact in literature. Additionally, we synthesized the critical success factors proposed in ERP systems implementation. Last, and with the intention of giving support to the development of future hypotheses, we given some conclusions on the scientific antecedents found in the study.In a general analysis, we concluded that the publications about ERP systems implementation present a clear tendency of growth and those are concentrated in information systems journals. The empirical studies are preferred, the case study is used most frequently, and normally the studied organizations are great multinationals of the industrial sector. On the other hand, from the revision of the articles, we concluded that, first; the size of the organization has an important role in the ERP systems implementation. Second, the factors that affect the late adoption of an ERP differ from which affects its early adoption. Third, in the implementation of the ERP there is a cultural collision. Fourth, there are few rigorous scientific studies on ERP implementation success factors. Fifth, there is not a single dimension for the ERP system success measurement

Abstract: Three novel branched polyamines N,N,N’,N’-tetrakis-[3((pyridine-2-methyl)-amine) propyl]-1,4- butanediamine (1), N,N,N’,N’-tetrakis-[N-((2-methylpyridine)ethyl)propanamide]ethylenediamine (2) and N,N,N’,N’-tetrakis-[3((2-hidroxibenziliden)-amine)propyl]-1,4-butanediamine (3), were synthesized starting from 2-pyridinecarboxaldeyde with DAB-Am-4 for 1, PAMAM G0 for 2 and from salicylaldehyde with DAB-Am-4 for 3. The pathway reactions have been proposed by 1H-NMR, IR and Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. The optimal reaction time was set by IR spectroscopy following aldehyde \"\" peak modification. 1 and 2 were obtained as both hydrochlorides and as free amines and 3 only as free imine. These polyamines were characterized by UV-Vis, IR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR and Mass Spectrometry.

Abstract: the objective of this work was to study the reproductive behavior of two strains of r. (b.) microplus, one wild-caught (native) and one reference strain (media joya) for two years, measuring the reproductive efficiency index (rei) and reproductive aptitude index (rai). engorged ticks from each strain were collected monthly from february 2002 to february 2004. these were weighed and kept in the laboratory until egg-laying. oogenic masses were individually weighed and incubated until larvae emergence. rei and rai were calculated from each sample, grouping ticks by weight in 100 mg range classes. an analysis of variance and duncan's multiple rank tests were carried out on the data (p < 0.05). pearson's correlation coefficients were estimated (p < 0.01) in order to determine the relationship between engorgement weight and the weight and number of laid and hatched eggs. the native strain showed a higher engorgement weight than media joya strain. in both strains rei and rai were similar in all weight classes; with a quadratic tendency in media joya and linear-quadratic in the native strain (p < 0.05). significant differences where observed when rei and rai of both strains were compared along the duration of the study (p < 0.01) with the native strain performing better in both indexes, including better performance during the dry season. all parameters studied showed highly significant correlation; eggs laid and eggs hatched were notably highly correlated, 0.94 and 0.91, for media joya strain and native strain respectively.
Animal bait effect on the recovery of Boophilus microplus larvae from experimentally infested grass in Morelos, Mexico
Parasitología latinoamericana , 2003, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-77122003000100009
Abstract: to quantify the influence of the animal presence on the percentage of boophilus microplus larvae recovery from plots experimentally infested with this tick, it was carried out a trial in jiutepec, morelos, mexico, during autumn 1999 and winter 1999-2000. for this purpose there were compared four sampling methods: human walking with chaps, bovine dressed walking, double walking flagging and double walking with baited flagging. the comparison was made on tree grasses: andropogun gayanus(gamba), cenchrus ciliaris (buffel) and melinis minutiflora (molasses). it was observed the same recovery efficiency of b. microplus larvae in the four sampling methods studied in the two seasons. there were no statistical differences, although, there were differences (p < 0.05) among the grass species. the higher number of larvae recovered was recorded in the low third of the chaps, in the head and front legs of the bovine dressed, from the buffel grass and on the ventral region and legs in the other two grasses
Utilidad de la integración y convergencia de los métodos cualitativos y cuantitativos en las investigaciones en salud
González,Rosario García;
Revista Cubana de Salud Pública , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S0864-34662010000100004
Abstract: the objective of this paper is to comment on the possibility of integration and convergence of the quantitative and qualitative methods in health research. it also intends to characterize both methods and to illustrate them with concrete researches in the health field. the information offered is based on the bibliographic review, the theoretical exposition and the presentation of results obtained in social and educational research in the diabetes field. both methods have different research aims and different ways of approaching the phenomenon to be studied, its advantages and limitations. the quantitative method is useful to measure the magnitude of a phenomenon, whereas the qualitative method serves to interpret how and why this phenomenon occurs. it also allows to get closer to the phenomenon from the perspective of the meanings that the actors give to the process in which they are immersed. the health researches were not foreign to the controversial debate caused by the introduction of the qualitative method into scientific research, but starting from the basis that the set of qualitative and quatitative data do not oppose or exclude each other, the integration of both methods may potentiate scientific research instead of making it difficult. the integration and convergence of both methods may contribute to a better understanding of the phenomenon under study. the application of social sciences to the study and understanding of the health/disease processes facilitate the transfer of the bio-medical to the bio-social approach and leads to the use of qualitative methodology for research.
