Abstract: a well delimited presence of the objective and subjective paradigms in the progress of scientific knowledge in information science is shown. the discipline and its object of study are analyzed from its conceptual dimension. the science-paradigm relation manifested in this sphere of knowledge is assessed, and it is established the scientific context of the time in which the influence of the above mentioned paradigms is ostensible.

Abstract: Se muestra la presencia, bien delimitada, de los paradigmas objetivistas y subjetivistas en el progreso del conocimiento científico en la Ciencia de la Información. Se examina la disciplina y su objeto de estudio desde su dimensión conceptual. Se valora además, la relación ciencia-paradigma manifiesta en esta parcela del conocimiento, y se establece el contexto científico del tiempo en el que resulta ostensible la influencia de los mencionados paradigmas. Abstract: En el contexto de la nueva sociedad de la información, el desarrollo de programas internacionales de entrenamiento, realizados con el objetivo de actualizar y consolidar los conocimientos y habilidades de los profesionales de la información es un imperativo para el perfeccionamiento sostenido de su actividad práctica. Una iniciativa en este sentido es el “P rograma internacional de entrenamiento sobre gestión de información científica y tecnológica en universidades y bibliotecas” (STIMULATE), organizado anualmente, por universidades de la comunidad flamenca en Bélgica. Abstract: the converging and diverging points among the processes oriented to the objective and subjective representation of the information sources are analyzed. some elements of the objectivity and subjectivity in the representation of the sources are indicated. similarities and differences between the documental treatment and the documental analysis are examined. some reflexions on the information analysis as a process that explores the subjectivity contained in the sources are exposed.

Abstract: Se analizan los puntos de encuentro y desencuentro entre los procesos orientados a la representación objetiva y subjetiva de las fuentes de información. Se indican algunos elementos de la objetividad y subjetividad en la representación de las fuentes. Se examinan semejanzas y diferencias entre el tratamiento y el análisis documental. Se exponen un grupo de reflexiones sobre el análisis de información como proceso que explora la subjetividad contenida en las fuentes. Similarities and differences between the documental treatment and the documental analysis are examined.
